WrestleMania 33:
Here is my recap of WrestleMania 33.
Notes...
- All of the pulled talent were allowed into the battle royal after all, as was Luke Harper. The match ended up being a 33 man match. The biggest Andre tribute match yet, beating 31 from Mania 30.
- A fan helped Mojo Rawley win the Andre tribute match. The fan was a friend of Mojo's from his US football days, and had to get permission from his team to get involved in the spot. The angle was almost botched by an over zealous security official, who tried to stop him from climbing over the barricades, before being told to step aside.
- The IC title match was dropped to the pre show to make room for the SD Women's match after a fan online campaign.
- The Raw women botched an important spot in their match. Charlotte failed to remove the turnbuckle pad, which was pivotal to two eliminations and an injury angle, they did the three spots, but with the pad still in place, bar a spot where it had been torn away.
- Enzo Amore spent $50,000 on his attire.
- The Hardy Boyz made a surprise return for the ladder match.
- Jeff Hardy scored his first ever win at the biggest show of them all, he had lost all his previous 5 efforts.
- John Cena proposed to Nikki Bella after their win.
- Jerry Lawler was on comms for that match.
- Planned run in's by Samoa Joe and Mick Foley during the Seth vs HHH match did not happen. Foley had delayed his hip surgery to be available for the match.
- Triple H is now the biggest loser in Mania history. He has been beaten 12 times at the event, once more than HBK.
- WWE ran a strange angle where they superimposed videos of creepy crawlies onto the ring, during the World title match.
- Jim Ross called the main event.
- The Undertaker stripped his gloves, coat and hat off, then left them in the ring, seemingly a symbolic act to confirm his retirement.
- A fire started as the show was going off air. A rogue pyro lit the stage up, and staffers from the back came out to fight the blaze, as thick black smoke billowed skyward. No injuries were reported.
Raw tease:

- Bow down to "the Kingslayer" Seth Rollins
- Hardy homecoming, new RAW Tag Team Champions The Hardys
- The List of Owens, new WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens
- Champion of the Universe, new WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar

WWE baby:
Paige is not pregnant. She has confirmed her announcement was an April fools joke.
Sneaky Hardyz:
Jeff Hardy told people at a hotel he was staying at that he had left their Mania party early because he was beat up from his ROH match and wanted to go to his room to sleep. Instead he and his brother were picked up by WWE and rushed to the arena, turning up just minutes before they entered the arena for their returns.
NXT promotions:
Shinsuke Nakamura, The Revival, Elias Samson, Tye Dillinger and Andrade Cien Almas are all expected to be promoted to the main roster in the coming weeks, as WWE start their new year.
HOF'er comes home:
Jim Ross has signed a 2 year deal with WWE.
NXT:
Triple H has announced the next NXT special will be in May in Chicago.
Target missed:
WWE did not hit their target of 2 million subscribers to their Network in time for Mania.
JJ confirms story:
Jeff Jarrett says Impact and GFW are in the process of being merged into one promotion.
Personal note regarding Taker...
I remember being miserable when Taker lost his streak, so much so that I thought about stopping doing these pages, I didn't of course, but dreaded the day he hung them up... that day has seemingly come, but until he accepts HOF induction over a match next year I am going to delude myself into thinking maybe it isn't all over... maybe... hopefully... maybe...
However things turn out... got to say, for a wonderful 27 years... #ThankYouTaker
