Today's News

WWE:

WWE aired their annual Tribute To The Troops special last night.

Raw:

WWE have announced a special match for the January 19 Raw. John Cena vs Seth Rollins in a 30 man lumberjack match, all 30 stars entered into the Royal Rumble match will surround the ring for the duration of the bout. This may mean WWE really have removed the nostalgia appearances for this years Rumble match, as they are unlikely to bring them in a week before the show, it would spoil the surprise!!!.

WrestleMania 32:

WWE will announce the host venue of Mania 2016 the same night as above, likely to be Dallas Cowboy's stadium.

Indy star to WWE:

WWE have offered a contract to Uhaa Nation, but he has not yet informed them of his decision, although he has refused bookings after a certain date, so he is keeping his options open.

Rey snubs final run:

WWE have confirmed they had an angle in place to carry Rey Mysterio from Survivor Series to WrestleMania 31, where he would have his farewell match, however as noted at the time, Rey decided not to attend the show on the night, and WWE have cancelled the plans altogether. What this means for Rey's WWE future is uncertain.

Tag team rebuff WWE:

The Young Bucks refused to attend an invite to the September WWE try out camp. The refusal was described as a polite rebuff.

TNA star misses NXT debut:

Santana ''Brittany'' Garrett was booked to work a match at the last NXT tapings vs Charlotte, but the NXT champ was already booked to work multiple matches, so WWE decided to drop her match.

Why Naomi was fired from TD:

WWE and E! felt they had nowhere to go with her and Jimmy Uso as they got married, and didn't know what to do with them, that they are not already doing with the other married couples on the show.

TNA make play for ADR:

TNA have offered a one year deal worth $400,000, but want him to be exclusive to them, meaning he would have to tear up deals with Lucha Underground, ROH and AAA. He would not want not do this, unless they greatly improve the financial package they have offered. TNA reportedly are pushing the fact he will get a much higher profile with them, than anywhere else.

Triple H vs CM Punk:

Triple H took a shot at CM Punk during a backstage segment at R Evolution. Triple H was being recorded, as he offered a new announcers contract to Corey Graves in the back, and said to the now retired star that WWE's "World class doctors" had helped him make the decision to quit, and that by making that choice, he still had a WWE job. This, it has now emerged, was Hunter's reaction to Punk's criticism of the WWE medical team.

Brock Lesnar:

Another twist in the Lesnar merch story. After WWE denied reports they had asked suppliers to stop making merch for their champ, one of those suppliers today confirmed they HAVE been asked to replace all items scheduled for release after WrestleMania with images of Sheamus, in place of Lesnar.

CM Punk:

UFC fans, you will have to wait. CM Punk says he will not be ready to compete until next Summer, at the very earliest. Punk was also involved in a combative exchange with TV host Michael Landsberg yesterday.

Looking Back at 2014

Wrestler asks fan to prom:

Indy star Ace Perry made his biggest fans day at a recent event, he asked her if she would allow him to accompany her to her school's dance...

AAA:

Sarita is in talks with Lucha Underground.

Rollins on Punk:

Seth Rollins has discussed the CM Punk situation...

On his choice to leave...

"Good for him. Kudos to Punk for finding himself something to do after WWE. He's made a big splash over the last few weeks between his podcasts and signing with UFC. I wish him the best of luck. I really hope that he has as much success there as he has here. I think it will be very interesting for him to try something new. He's only been a pro wrestler since he was 18 years old. For him, at his age, to step out of his comfort zone and try something new is pretty admirable and I'm looking forward to seeing how he does."

On the way he handled himself...

"I think it could have handled better, probably, on both sides. And I think down the road, people involved will say the same thing. But as much as I don't necessary agree with the way he left, I think I understand, mentally, where he was. This business can take a toll on you. You travel a lot. You get beat up a lot. There's a lot of frustration that's involved and mentally, over time, that can wear on you. It can put you in place where you're a different person. And when you're not happy with who you are and the person you want to be, you gotta take a step back. You gotta look at things outside the bubble a little bit. I think that's what he did and I think he realized that he needed to take a step back and see what was going on. And if he didn't like it, then he can move on. I think they agreed to disagree. Like I said, could have been handled differently from a public relations standpoint on both sides. I think once the dust settles, everything will feel itself out and it should be alright."

On the locker room allowing him back...

"I don't see why not. He's a self-admitted jerk, first of all. And if you listen to his podcast, he didn't say that he was in a great mood the last few months that he was there. He admitted how grumpy he was and how much of a jerk he was, even more than he already is. I think we would welcome him back. I'm not one to hold too much grudges. I think everyone deserves a second chance; an opportunity to redeem themselves. I would welcome him back. I'm sure he would face some resentment, as far as the locker room is concerned. But guys get over that stuff pretty quick. I think if it was best for business, yeah, I would be open to it for sure."

WWE Network:

WWE have reached a deal for a second distributor to air their Network in Canada, Eastlink will charge 11.99 per month.

Rumble costs more?:

Tickets for the Royal Rumble are selling for as much as 19% more than WrestleMania tickets did this year.

TNA confirm change:

TNA have officially announced Taz and Josh Matthews are their new announce team.
