Hulk Hogan:

More stars have spoken out in support of Hulk Hogan...

The Rock...

"I was pretty disappointed with what I heard, like all of us, by the way. I've known Terry for a lot of years, my dad helped train him in Florida in the '70s when he was breaking into the business. My uncles helped train him too as well. I have not known the man to be racist. It's funny, it's one of those things where—and not justifying what he said—we've all talked trash, especially in private," said Johnson. "He said what he said, and he's paying the price."

Chris Jericho...

"All I know is that Hulk has always been a nice guy to me and I've seen him sign hundreds and hundreds of autographs for kids, waiting for an airplane and I was there standing next to him," Jericho said. "It doesn't excuse what he said. I'm not saying anything about that. I'm just saying I think he has got a good heart and was maybe caught in the wrong place, saying things that he shouldn't have said, but all you can say is that I hope Hulk rebounds and comes back from this and I hope he digs down deep inside and finds out what kind of a person he really is. And I think, if he can do that, then people will get a chance to see the real Hulk and terrible, terrible situation and Hulk should not have put himself in that position. Like I said, man, it's a tough thing. A lot of times, friends do things that you wish they hadn't have done, but you don't abandon them completely. [I'm] sorry to see Hulk Hogan go, but I think in the long run, Miz might not have the tenure that Hulk has, but he has more personality in the soundbites and maybe a little bit more passion."

Got to say it looked a bit staged to me, could be wrong.

Daniel Bryan calls for the brand split to return:

"One of the things I wanted to do when I came back [from injury], was do something with the Intercontinental Championship. And my big spiel, my big pitch for this thing, like, I want to be the Intercontinental Champion and I only want to be on Smackdown. I don't want to be on RAW. I want to be on Smackdown because one of my things was I would never have gotten this opportunity if there wasn't split brands, if there wasn't two [world] titles. If there was just the one main title, [WWE] would never, ever given me the opportunity."

Hogan wants leakers jailed:

Hulk Hogan is demanding judges punish the staff that leaked the audio of the sex tape with custodial sentences. He says when Gawker received the transcripts, against Hogan's wishes (He complained a lawyer had tried to blackmail him for $150,000 to keep the documents out of the upcoming court case), they were ordered to keep the contents private, even from their own employees, only the legal team were supposed to see what the files contained. He therefore alleges that only they could be responsible for the leak, and wants them to face the strongest possible punishment, which, if proven, would be a likely outcome for whoever it was that did leak the information.

Things continue to get worse for Hogan as a further racially charged conversation was leaked by a jail. He was recorded talking to his son Nick, who had been involved in an auto wreck that almost killed a friend of his, when his dad came to visit...

Hulk... "You and me been sitting on some serious phone, phone dialogue here n---a."

Nick... "Yeah, nibb-ah."

Hulk... "N---a, n---a, that means, that means you (are) my best friend. You know that God gave you this vibe and this, this, energy that you and I are going to live forever, bro. I just hope we don't come back as a couple, I don't want to say it, blizz-ack gizz-uys, you know what I'm saying?"

Nick... "Brutal" [Nick and Hulk laugh] It's down in St. Pete and it's mixed-race and we get along with everybody, so that's fine."

Hulk... "Your mom went there and said it was mainly blizz, you know what I'm sizz-aying?"

Nick... "Mm-hm."

Hulk... "And that some of the ladies there that, you know, run the school are nice blizz lizz-adies, you know?"

Nick... "Mm-hm.... I would go down there, I would make friends with all those kids down there. I guarantee it. Because you know how all the blizz pizz love us."

"F*cking n**ger… he had Jamie Foxx coming in on the 22nd track. I didn't even tell Brooke about it. F*ck her. Brooke and (name withheld by Radar and The Enquirer) met in Miami. Brooke f*cks up a ten million dollar deal I had with the Saudis. Brooke says, 'F*ck you dad.' She's never said that. She flipped a bird at me. I have this huge f*cking house in Miami. My family never comes home. They went to LA. F*ck 'em."

Bulldogs rift heals:

Diana Hart has revealed why the British Bulldogs fell out, but says communication has re-opened with their kids reaching out to each other...

"It had to do with Davey going back to WWF, and Dynamite didn't want to go back. Davey said 'I'm on the verge of losing my house' and Tom wasn't. I did have the wherewithal to trademark the British Bulldogs name and Dynamite didn't want anything to do with it. I told Tom we were doing this, and it would cost this much money. At the time it seemed like a lot, but in hindsight it was well worth it. We would own the name and he didn't want any part of it. As Dynamite said, I was the tail wagging the dog. If he thought of it, he would have just had to do it, but since it was Davey's wife who was trying to implement it, it wasn't good. I don't have any animosity towards Tom, I love Tom. I just don't think he thought I knew what I was doing. I learned a lot from being Helen and Stu Hart's daughter, I wasn't an ostrich with my head stuck in the sand. It's nice of Nattie and TJ to give me credit for that, I really appreciate it. I haven't spoken to him, but I have had messages back and forth through my kids who have spoken to him with affection."

Hulk Hogan:

Kamala has jumped to the defense of Hulk Hogan...

"That's not the Hogan I know. Hogan always treated me like a gentleman. He genuinely cared about me. He was my friend. He'd tell me, 'Brother, I'm getting my money. I hope you're getting yours, because you're putting asses in the seats.' When it came to our matches, he valued my input. He'd always say, 'What do you want to do out there, brother?' I'd tell him, and then we'd go out there and do it. He's a sweetheart of a guy. I'm not mad at him at all. Deep down, he's really not like that. He's a super-nice guy. I don't believe he's a racist at all, no matter what he said."

He went on to say what he will do when he next sees him...

"The first thing I'd do is shake his hand and hug him, just like we always do. That wouldn't change. Then I might say, 'Hey man, what happened?' But it'd be with a smiling face."

This is just one of a tidal wave of supportive messages Hogan is receiving, even from fans that tore him apart when the story originally broke, who now say the public crucifixion he is being put through is too much, and needs to stop. WWE may have read this situation very wrongly in the court of public opinion, but as yet are showing no signs of changing their stance on the Hulkster's WWE status.

Most of the supporters of Hogan, while not defending what he said, draw attention to the fact it happened 8 years ago, and that he was secretly taped during a private moment, with and by people he thought were his friends, for possible financial gain for themselves.

Not everyone is supporting him of course, Mark Henry, Big E, and most vocally CM Punk have come out strongly critical of him, and Henry and HOF'er Jim Ross have supported the action WWE have taken against him.

He did concede that he was wrong, and that both guys are doing better than he expected.

Today's News

Tough Enough:

WWE will name the replacement judge on next Tuesdays episode. Current favourite Ric Flair has raised some eyebrows within the WWE offices, as he has a colourful back catalogue of faux pas' himself. Other ideas would see host Chris Jericho take over, or if not him The Miz, with a third option being the coaches (Billy Gunn, Booker T, Lita) alternating a spot on the panel. This may be poplular with the contestants, as they are the people that spend most time with them, and know them best, both in terms of strengths and weaknesses, and therefore would be better placed to make decisions relating to the public vote off. The fourth and final option would be Mick Foley, but he is not happy with the show so would be the longest shot.

Vince McMahon has taken complete control of Tough Enough as he is not happy with the numbers, he is in Florida full time and is very hands on with the production of every aspect of the show.

All episodes currently taped have been removed from catch up services, due to the Hulk Hogan situation.

Hulk Hogan:

WWE continue to purge Hulk Hogan from it's history. They have decided, like with Chris Benoit, not to remove all footage of him, from PPV events and so on, there is far too much of it, but have removed all Hogan centered shows, such as specials about him and the Hulk Hogan cartoon from the 80's. He has been officially pulled from the next WWE game, the makers released a statement that they felt obligated to respect the WWE request not to include him, despite their promise to make it the most expansive game ever, and his movie with David Hasselhoff is hoping to be edited, but he is so prominent in the film that it may need to be re-shot to cut him out, and he is to be dropped from a new WWE cartoon show.

TNA have also now followed suit and deleted him from their roster page, and removed all of his merch, including a new DVD set, from sale.

Most worryingly for Hogan it is now reportedly confirmed that WWE are discussing revoking his 2005 Hall Of Fame induction. Dave Meltzer says the feeling he got from his source is that they are going to take time over making the decision, and that time will likely heal the situation as people cool off, from what is currently a very heated standoff. Hogan is furious at the double standards of being made a scapegoat by WWE for using a term that Vince himself used on a live WWE PPV, while Vince and WWE are hot about the embarrassment the promotion is facing due to the negative publicity, and the $50 million wiped off the WWE share price since the scandal.

Unfortunately wounds may still be open for a while yet, the National Enquirer say they have more footage to be released, and will do so periodically, to get as much mileage out of it as possible.

Hogan has threatened legal action over the leak of the tapes, and is blaming his opponent in his court case over the sex tape, during which he made the remarks, for doing it to smear his character, Gawker have firmly denied being involved in the leak.

WWE have come under such strong criticism that they released a statement to TMZ about the 2005 Vince McMahon skit, saying the two incidents are incomparable...

''Everyone recognizes the 2005 segment with Vince was an outlandish and satirical skit involving fictional characters, similar to that of many scripted television shows and movies."

Hogan has been busy on Twitter thanking fellow wrestlers, fans, and TE cast members for their supportive messages, and also received a poem from his daughter Brooke, expressing her love for her dad, and asking fans to forgive him.

NXT:

The Rock's mum and daughter attended last nights NXT live to support their relative Lina, who was working her debut event.

We are still fans:

Seth Rollins attended a PWG show last night as a fan. William Regal was also at the show, as a scout for WWE.

Gimmick officially dropped:

The Mega Powers 2.0 team of Curtis Axel and Damien Sandow have lost their popular gimmick, returning to their original characters at last nights lives.

JR vs WWE:

Jim Ross is unhappy with WWE's NXT special, as he has a one man show in town the night before SummerSlam, and his tickets are not selling well in competition with the NXT show.

Daniel Bryan says there is a chance he won't work for WWE again:

"Yes, there is that chance. But I told them, regardless of them, if they won't clear me … we're independent contractors, in theory … and I WILL wrestle again. I am cleared by the neurologist in Phoenix that I've been going to see. It's not like he's a quack doctor. He was the neurologist for the Super Bowl … who has no problems in clearing me with no limitations. But you also have to understand that WWE is not only looking out for my best interest, but they have to look out for their company as well, and I understand all of that too. There is nothing vindictive or anything there's just a lot of hurdles to go through at this point with getting cleared by WWE. I had a sit-down with Vince and Hunter about this and said, "Hey, this is my passion. I understand why you guys wouldn't clear me but we only get, as far as we know, one life. And you're not going to let me do my passion?.'"

QUESTION OF THE DAY...

What do you make of the WWE handling of the Hulk Hogan issue, are they right to remove all ties to him, and possibly revoking his HOF status, or are they being overly harsh by deleting him from their history books???.

Today's News

TNA:

TNA aired the recent King Of The Mountain match on Impact this week as they had to remove footage of Hernandez that would have aired during the episode. They have brought some talent, including Austin Aries and James Storm, back to record some new footage to cover other gaps in their episodes as a result of losing the Mexican.

They have also removed their talent from an upcoming fan convention in Indiana, due to scheduling conflicts.

Hulk Hogan leaves WWE:

Hulk Hogan has been terminated by WWE, deleted from their website, including from the Hall Of Fame page, and had all of his merch removed from sale, with all future projects cancelled with immediate effect. This is because of revelations leaked from the court papers in his case against website Gawker over his sex tape. The National Enquirer and Radar have acquired a transcript of the audio of the tape, and despite the case being pending have decided to release the content, which was full of racial insults. WWE were made aware of the transcript last night, and were said to be so appalled with what they heard that they fired him on the spot, and demanded all mention of him be removed from their website, this was done, and he is now gone from .Com.

Warning that the following comments attributed to Hogan are graphic...

"I guess we're all a little racist."

"She is making some real bad decisions now. My daughter Brooke jumped sides on me. I spent $2-3 million on her music career, I've done everything like a jackass for her."

"The one option Brooke had, Brooke's career besides me, is to sell beach records. (Apart from that) black billionaire guy (That) had offered to fund Brooke's music career.''

"I don't know if Brooke was f*cking the black guy's son."

"I mean, I don't have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f*cking n***ers. But then when it comes to nice people and sh*t, and whatever."

"I mean, I'd rather if she was going to f*ck some n***er, I'd rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n***er worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! I guess we're all a little racist. f--king n***er."

WWE explained why they released him in this statement...

"WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide."

Hogan has released a statement of apology...

"Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it. This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs."

He has also, via his lawyer, claimed he was not fired, but chose to leave, hoping to avoid any problems for WWE, and because he wanted to see this storm out with his family.

A friend of Hogan says they have known this would come out eventually, and that it will be damaging for a while, but he will rebound from it.

The situation has been further worsened by a website claiming to have heard the tape and releasing alleged comments about The Rock, his views on working against ''Black'' wrestlers, and more, none of which was substantiated when the audio was released today.

In other notes, he has also been dropped from Tough Enough, Ric Flair is expected to take his spot on the panel, and Curtis Axel has had his AxelMania gimmick dropped, and will return to his original character.

WWE have not come out of this unscathed. They have been blasted as hypocrites due to the widely reported racist culture backstage in WWE, and Vince McMahon's use of the word Hogan has been sacked for using, at a live PPV event. Booker T has also been getting some attention after he too once used the word on TV, and of course the infamous DX promo, where the members, including Triple H, blacked up to mock their rivals.

But it'll be interesting to see when. I don't know. It's kind of in the hands of certain doctors, as far as them clearing me and what not. Patrick said of his departure...

"I thought it would be more wrestling related. I don't know if you saw what Mick Foley tweeted, but he said I made the mistake of thinking 'Tough Enough' was a wrestling show and not a reality show. I honestly did make that mistake. Five weeks was not enough time for me to fix it."

WWE star caught up in mid air drama:

Sheamus was a passenger on a plane that had to make an emergency landing in Colorado today. There was some kind of medical issue that affected a number of his fellow passengers. He admitted he was as scared as everyone else when the oxygen masks dropped from above.

Cody writes to his dad:

"So what do you want me to do now?? The head of the table is empty. I am not ready to let the sun go down on you. My compass just spinning madly. A few days after we lost you, I was tasked with the unfortunate duty of going through your cellphone to find various numbers, so that we could invite them to the service. And there it was… Your lock-screen. It was a picture. It was Stardust in a heated stare-down with The CW'S most valuable player Stephen "The Green Arrow" Amell.

"…Finish what you start Kid…"

And that's why I sent you know who Monday. And I'm sure when he drew that first line of paint down his face, his throat rised and his eyes might of watered a bit. Leave it all out in the ring, my gift to you. And I know the man who secretly wanted to pit himself against Joe Frazier after Starrcade 84' would get a real kick out of this.

So Dad, I hope you like what happens next, and…I hope the fans do too. Like Paul told you, they're not marks…they're customers. You said about them in 1978 (after you took those rose-tinted shades off to let them know you were serious…I know you) "making you happy, makes my dreams fulfilled"

When I "finish"…who knows?? Maybe Aubrey Sitterson and I will actually write a comic or two that people enjoy and feel something from. Maybe I will finally take your advice and "head West young man…" and get that manager you wanted me to get. Or maybe I will put a pair of wrestling boots and trunks in a bag (I promise to carry it on the plane, 1st rule) and ride the roads and pretend to be a cowboy like you.

That Stardust suit might end up in the closet next to that black&gold Midnight Rider mask (which you never told me why its even there to begin with…wait…you…no you weren't him…were you??)

I think you told me it was an Apache or Cherokee custom, that giving a knife was giving "the bonds of friendship" and giving it back was to cut them. So I have given a few from your collection to those two studs you watched your last Mania' with, your booking friend from NXT."

Daniel Bryan book interview:

Highlights...

On his first time making love with Brie Bella...

"We were naked and about to do our thing when all of a sudden we heard the sound of the door handle turning and then the door popped open. Bri jumped under the covers as Teddy and Sheamus barged into the room, inebriated as can be, wit the 'Ahhh fella!' and all that."

On the nixed match vs Charlie Sheen...

"He was going through a very public breakdown at the time, and somehow WWE brokered a deal for him to perform against me. He taped a couple of videos for 'Raw' insulting me, and even though it was a goofy match to be in, it would've put me in one of the top matches at SummerSlam. Unfortunately, whoever brokered the Sheen deal never got him to sign any sort of contract to do the event, and in typical Charlie Sheen fashion, he bailed."

On his argument with Triple H...

"Usually I don't get super angry, and when I do it's barely visible. This time, I was furious and I let everyone know it. When I walked through the curtain, I yelled, 'What the f--- is that all about. That's f---ing bull----!' 'You need to calm down,' responded Triple H, who had been communicating with the doctor over the headset and called for the match to be stopped. 'No, you need to calm the f--- down,' I replied. We were up in each other's faces and both ready to fight."

WWE sign young fan:

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have invited a young boy, who had sent in a video applying for Tough Enough, to Raw to sign a WWE contract on August 3. He was given a Money In The Bank case, and chose Stardust as the wrestler he wanted to preside over the contract signing, which will be in the ring during the broadcast.

WWE drop plans to re-hire team:

WWE had been planning on bringing the Dudley Boyz in, initially for a one off match at an NXT taping, but Bully Ray's recent TNA return has caused them to lose interest in their services.

WWE vs ROH:

There is real bad blood brewing between WWE and ROH after Jushin Liger agreed to work for WWE in direct competition with an ROH show, he may have worked as part of their talent exchange deal with NJPW. Further to this WWE are reportedly contacting venues that ROH use, offering to book them for NXT shows, if they drop ROH as a client.

TNA have told their talent they are revoking all of their contracts, and would from now on employ them on a per appearance basis. Only Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy would be retained on guaranteed contracts. TNA are spinning the story positively, they say it will allow their talent much more freedom to work elsewhere, when not on TNA duty, and would give them the chance to earn much more than they can as TNA exclusive stars, but talent have expressed their discomfort with the plans, and more than one source claim to have been told that stars will refuse the new deals when they come into play.

King Barrett talks lack of effort in him by WWE:

King Barrett has expressed his disappointment in the WWE handling of his new gimmick thus far...

"It depends on the opportunities afforded to me by our writing team. So far, I feel I haven't been the focus of the show but hopefully, that's going to change in the next few weeks or months. Hopefully, I get some solid storylines so that I can show what I can do."

WWE change ethos:

William Regal says WWE have completely changed how they hire talent...

''WWE talent scouts are currently looking for an array of different talents and are foremost concerned with their in-ring acumen. The days of only looking for one type of person are over. They are looking for people who can fill necessary roles for the company, and are particularly interested in men and women who've gotten over in other promotions. When someone recommends a wrestler, the first thing Triple H asks is, "Do they look like they can beat somebody up?." (We) agree that believability is invaluable in (This) line of work.''

He went on to say...

''The perfect age, the best wrestlers are generally around 30-years-old. The most successful people in the wrestling industry have usually been those who possessed an incredible work ethic. WWE developmental used to be nothing but bodybuilders, which ended up proving fruitless you'd get one good one, out of every thousand."

He also provided advice for future stars...

''The best exercises for pro wrestlers... Seth Rollins and Ryback both do burpees, because standard cardio can't keep them in "Wrestling shape." Also hill running and kettlebell swinging. MMA training is probably more suitable for today's prospective Superstars (Than mat wrestling). Boxing is also probably more applicable than amateur wrestling, as boxing footwork is more akin to how pro wrestlers perform. Wrestling academies should teach everyone to roll before teaching them how to bump If you can roll at every angle, it becomes second nature to protect yourself when you fall."

He called for a change in culture...

''(We need a) change in wrestling culture, as far as wrestlers taking bumps on their head or neck. People should stop using brain busters because the casual fan thinks you just messed up a vertical suplex."

He ended by urging young wrestlers to look after their necks, if they wanted longevity in the sport.
