Today's News

WWE DVD:

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's fitness DVD's will be released in time for Christmas.

Bo Dallas reveals his inspiration:

"Yes, Kurt Angle is the #1 when it comes to who is most similar to what I'm doing and that's who I've looked up to a lot, and learned many things from. Honestly the other WWE Superstar that I can say I've learned from was John Cena, taking his messages and taking them to the fullest with complete positivity. Never back down, never give up, and Bo-lieving in that and not straying from that and believing John Cena's messages to the fullest."

Arn Anderson interview:

On being a horseman...

"Being a Horseman isn't something you put on in the morning and take off at night. It's a state of mind. It's excelling to the best of your ability. It's four individuals thinking singularly, acting collectively."

On his career ending too soon...

"I would think for sure I would have had at least five more years. Without the last neck injury, even running on fumes for the first two, I could have gotten by. But who knows? Maybe 10 more years. Thirty-seven is not that old. The crazy thing is that I had those terrible neck injuries, and I wasn't one to come off the top (rope). I really feel for these guys today."

On Dolph Ziggler...

"Dolph has got to be one of the toughest men to put on a pair of boots. But he's going to be like Cactus Jack (Mick Foley) in another five years because that kid beats his body up more than anybody on the crew. I do know this. In my dealings with him, when I'm his producer, he gives everything he's got. He does some really phenomenal, athletic stuff."

WWE logo:

WWE have ordered new plates for all of their Title belts. They will alter the current designs to add the new WWE logo, when it launches in August.

Sting:

WWE are asking their fans who Sting should face upon his WWE debut, and interestingly they do not include The Undertaker...

Current standings...

  1. Bray Wyatt - 31%
  2. John Cena - 26%
  3. Triple H - 25%
  4. Kane - 10%
  5. Chris Jericho - 8%

Legends House 2:

The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase says he would consider doing Legends House 2...

"Yeah…maybe. Watching the show, I don't know if I want to put myself in that situation or not. I have watched some of the segments. I thought it was great. I thought it was funny…I knew the revelations, but it was great to see how they opened up."

Kenta:

WWE may ask Kenta to drop almost all of his 5 moves of doom, the Go To Sleep was used by CM Punk, and WWE do not want to draw attention to him, Daniel Bryan used his finisher and shining wizard / Knee kick, and the Tiger Suplex would be banned due to concussion worries and possible neck damage to his opponents.

SummerSlam:

John Cena vs Brock Lesnar will still likely happen at SummerSlam, even if Cena loses the title tonight.

WWE to drop angle:

The terrorist atrocity in Ukraine is having an affect on the WWE's anti USA angle, WWE officials may drop the story, and match between Jack Swagger and Rusev tonight in the wake of the downing of the civilian airline on the border with Russia. It is felt to have a pro Putin character right now would be insensitive to the many grieving the losses of friends and family in the tragedy. The decision will be made shortly before the event goes live.

It would not be the first time they had done this, in 2005 WWE dropped the Muhammad Hassan gimmick after the terrorist attacks in London.

Shannon Moore:

Shannon Moore says his upcoming 3 count reunion will be his last match.

Loss to UK wrestling journalism:

I was really saddened to have heard that PowerSlam Magazine issued their final installment this week. While the magazine did not directly inspire me to do these pages, it certainly had a part to play. The monthly mag was always thoroughly entertaining, interesting and opinionated, revealing the stories the promotions probably did not want you to know, long before the internet took over. I collected the mag for years before starting these pages, and only stopped for the same reason I do not like any wrestling fan pages on Facebook, I want the stuff I post to be stuff that I find myself, while researching the daily news, or find interesting / entertaining or weird or funny, and then share with the subscribers that follow my pages, who hopefully will also enjoy it. I like to find my own inspiration for the pages, it keeps me motivated to keep them up, and it would be lazy to look at other sites / fan pages or mags to get ideas IMO.

I now regret stopping getting the mag, and I will miss it, I remember almost coming to tears on the bus once when they broke the news of Crash Holly dying, I was with friends, it was almost awkward, and the interview with Matt Hardy after he was released by WWE during the Edge / Lita controversy, the yearly PowerSlam awards were always on point, and their support of indy and British wrestling, as well bringing awareness of names your armchair fan may never have come to know, I owe my love of Kenta to PowerSlam, their feature on him early in his career, a rave review I seem to  remember, made me look him up, and I was not disappointed.

Always opinionated, without ever pulling a punch, PowerSlam is going to leave a real hole in this wrestling fans life.

Thank you to all involved in your 20 year run.

Goldberg talks real feuds:

vs Chris Jericho...

"Absolutely. Why not? We'll do a co-promoted podcast where it should be aired on both simultaneously. Yeah. No big deal. I'm 47 years old, man, I don't hold grudges with people. If he's got a problem with me, say it to my face. Other than that, shut up, you know?. I very much appreciate him saying (He called him his bro) that. Until I talk to him face-to-face, which I haven't done since the B.S. went down years ago, which...it was ridiculous. It was the furthest thing from a fight that I think I've ever seen. But he knows the truth and I know the truth, and the reality is we're grown men, dude, we've got bigger and better things to do than [dwell] on a ridiculous little subject that people seem to bring up every couple minutes."

vs Scott Hall...

"The wrestling convention or the signings are not the place to show that I can punch somebody in the face. It's a place where the people can look at you as an idol, this big strong guy, but yet, at the same time, have a nice conversation with you, so you smile, put your arm around them and make them feel welcome. That's what you do at these autograph sessions. But, if Scott Hall mouths off to me, then they'll see the other side. This would be a rematch that he'd never book, believe it. He'd never sign it, because this one would be done in the street or at my gym, which I'd rather take it there, you know?"

Also on a WWE return...

"I've expressed my desire... well, not my desire, my willingness to maybe consider it again, but I've said it once, I've said it 50,000 times, once they learn how to do business, then I'd consider it. I'd love to do it too, man. I mean, like I said, I've said it before, I think the WWE and I will never see eye to eye, so I don't think [it] will be very logical, and I think the chances of seeing me elsewhere are between zero and zero, unless it's Japan or unless somebody comes out to be a competitor to [WWE], because I'm not just gonna do it to do it."

Natalya's faux pas:

Natalya has revealed she recently drunk dialed Stephanie McMahon...

"Nobody, including Steph, ever expected something like [that] to happen. It's something now that we laugh about. The lesson learned is don't ever go into 'Brie Mode!'"

The Rock movie:

Writer Alan Moore has urged fans to boycott The Rock's movie Hercules. He is upset at the amount of changes from the original comic book he wrote with a now deceased friend, and that his friend's name was being used against his wishes.

Rock has also revealed a scene in the movie made him black out 8 times. He was chained to a boulder and was strapped in so tightly that he dropped to his knees every time due to the physical toll the scene had on him. He posted a behind the scenes clip on his Instagram of this happening.

Colt Cabana talks WWE release:

"It was a bummer. I was having lunch with Trent Berreta & Tyson Kidd when I got the call. It was awkward for them I think when I told them. I definitely saw it coming as they weren't really using me that well, but the reality of the situation was a total bummer."

WWE Top 10:

Leaks change major Summer angle:

POTENTIAL SPOILERS!!!

Strong speculation coming out of WWE suggests WWE are going to change their top summer angle, starting by removing John Cena as champion this Sunday at BattleGround, this has been stoked further as John Cena has been pulled from next weeks Raw, he was originally scheduled to appear to cut a promo explaining his absence for the following few weeks while he is filming a movie. The new plan would see WWE ''Pull the trigger'' on Roman Reigns and would mean the former Shield man would win his first title reign, and would then see him face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.

END OF SPOILERS!!!

Sheamus:

Sheamus will have a guest appearance on Royal Pains this week.

Rock's return:

The Rock has discussed returning to WWE, and offered to go heel for a run with Roman Reigns...

"The one match three or four years ago that I started talking about with Vince then turned into a three year run. So who knows? I would love to go back and figure it out. After last year's WrestleMania the idea was I was going to set up a great match with myself and Brock Lesnar but then I got hurt so that plan got cancelled. He is now in plans to do something with ba da da da which I'm not going to say (laughs) but it should be a cool match. So whenever I do go back, if it is a match it's just got to be right in terms of who is the marquee value player that really makes sense and at that time when I went back John Cena was the number one guy in the world so we have to see."

On Roman...

"I don't know if that match makes sense now because he's not their top heel right now, so you would look at that. Unless I went in as a heel and he was a babyface."

Angle praises Punk:

Kurt Angle said he respects CM Punk more than ever after he quit WWE, although in a roundabout way. He said he never understood why Punk was so anti part timers coming in, as one day he may be the man coming back one more time, and he could not see Punk turning down a Mania main event for someone else's benefit. He says he later changed his view after talking to Jim Ross, and was made aware of the amount of injuries Punk was working with.

WWE super show notes:

WWE have booked 75% of this years SummerSlam card, the rest will be set shortly after BattleGround. They are also working on a spot at WrestleMania 31 involving the fans. They would ask fans to use the their mobile / cell phones to light the arena.

WWE react to TNA:

WWE wanted to bring back LayCool in response to TNA bringing back The Beautiful People, but as Michelle McCool is now retired, they put her with the star that most resembles McCool, Summer Rae.

Today's News

John Cena:

WWE have pulled John Cena from all live events, bar PPV for the next few weeks. He is in New York filming a movie.

Sting:

Vince McMahon may be teasing that the deal is done, he posted a picture of Sting on Twitter, and asked ''Does art imitate life?''

Sting responded by saying he is ready if they are...

"I'll just say that I'm all in and very willing to participate. Believe me."

He went on to say he regrets not making the move to WWE sooner...

"Yeah, you know what they say about hindsight. I can look back now and wonder why I didn't do this earlier. But it is what it is, and I'm excited right now. It's like Vince used to say every time I came close to signing but never did: "Don't forget to cross your t's and dot your i's, and someday we'll do business together." And here we are. It's a video game, but that's for starters, and we'll see how it develops from here. I'm glad it turned out the way it did."

Jim Ross on joining TNA:

"It's not likely at all. I'm not looking at that direction but I don't think it's very smart to say I'll never do that. It would take an extraordinary deal because I don't know why I would be excited about replacing one of two guys that I like. You don't get that many friends in the wrestling business that stick with you through thick and thin. You get a lot fewer calls when you can't help somebody or can't do something for them. And I don't know if I would feel comfortable about of upsetting the team of Mike (Tenay) and Taz. As I sit here, I don't feel right about that."

WWE buy out on?:

Speculation is rising that WWE may be open to a buy out. Coming in the wake of an offer to buy Time Warner from 21st Century Fox, which also opens the door to a possible follow up move for the wrestling giant.

NXT taping notes:

3 episodes of NXT were taped last night, a Number 1 contender tournament for the Tag Titles, a Number 1 contender match for the NXT Women's title, and an NXT title match were taped. It was not a fun experience for one diva, Eva Marie was visibly upset by a really rough crowd reception she got during a match vs Bayley.

Bray Wyatt ended the show with an out of character promo, in which he thanked the Full Sail crowd for getting him to the main roster, and making him who he is.

New signing Kenta was also in attendance.

Roman Reigns talks maintaining the family tradition:

"I don't look at it as being tough. I take it as more of a responsibility. I feel like I've always been in that position in my family, to raise the bar, to keep our legacy strong. It's more of a challenge. It's not something that I let stress me out. I stay within myself and never forget where I came from."

The Miz:

The Miz is watching old tapes of the Jerry Lawler / Andy Kaufman feud for ideas for his new gimmick.

WWE backstage notes:

Brock Lesnar is scheduled to return on Raw next week, and WWE have dropped Alicia Fox's tantrum throwing gimmick, for the time being at least.

Jericho praises backstage legend:

He said of WWE music chief James A. Johnston...

"[Johnston] does a great job at what he does. He really finds the inner core, the inner seed of what the person's personality is, of what the character's personality is, and really latches on to that. It always amazes me to see what he comes up with for guys who have been around for years, for guys who are just starting..He's definitely an invaluable member of the WWE's team for sure."

"A lot of people remember the Silverback thing. Honestly, I could not do it. I told them: 'I can't do that. I got two little black kids at home.'"

Owen Hart:

Vince Russo and Steve Austin have remembered the night Owen died, from a behind the scenes perspective, Austin pulled no punches asking how Russo felt about the tragedy, as the stunt was his idea, Russo replied...

"I am a firm believer of things happen, man. We have our destiny. Our end date is written in a book, don't know why."

They went on to discuss the thinking behind the stunt, why Owen was picked to do it, and the moment the news was broken by Shane McMahon...

The people that were behind the technical aspect of Sting's WCW entrance wanted to show WWE what they could do, and Russo looked through the roster and decided it would be perfect for Owen, who had recently returned to his Blue Blazer gimmick...

"In my mind, I'm thinking of Owen, i'm thinking this would really be a spectacular entrance for Owen. This will be good for Owen. This will make Owen look great. It makes sense, because he's a superhero."

Russo said they were going to do it as a trial before the show, but it was never planned to happen during the PPV, and was never written into any script for the night. However he told Owen backstage that the stunt had been tried and tested and worked great, and asked if they could go with it. Owen agreed, and was not reluctant (According to Russo) so they did it.

He went on to talk about the accident, saying he can't explain why it went so wrong, and then emotionally remembered the moment they were told Owen was dead, Russo broke down when explaining Shane McMahon whispering in his ear that Hart didn't make it, and told Austin he remembered calling his wife and telling her he didn't want to be part of the business anymore.

CM Punk:

PWI are reporting that WWE and CM Punk did have a conversation before they removed him from their active roster, and he made a tweet saying goodbye. The content of the conversation was not made available, but it seems if WWE were trying to get him back before it was too late, the attempt failed.

WWF / WCW personality reveals mental health issues:

Vince Russo says he has been battling depression since his youth, and continues to struggle to this day, writing on his website, he said...

''I also wanted to share something with you that I've been battling since my 20s, and I know that many of you do as well–depression. Depression has been a fixture in my life since I graduated college back in 1983. It seems like over night I went from "Roscoe", the beloved fraternity brother and Vice President of Sigma Tau Gamma, to marriage, a co-op, a job that I hated, bills, anxiety, and every other BAD thing that went with responsibility. At the beginning, I thought I was going to lose my wife–-I was afraid that Amy was going to think that I was losing my mind. I wouldn't go to a doctor, because I didn't want to go on meds–-I knew that would make it worse. This nightmare went on with me for four years until my son Will was born. At that time I had to wake myself the F up, because I knew another human being was now dependant on me. Unfortunately, even with the birth of Will–-the depression never went away. I can't remember one day where I actually woke up and felt "good"–I just didn't know what that felt like. I had two video stores go out of business when I was barely 30 thanks to Blockbuster. I became unemployed, I sold appliances to make ends meat. Then the big break with the WWE–-my problems were solved. That was until I found myself on the road every week, in a strange hotel room by myself, feeling totally alienated from my family, and the few friends I still had. You know the rest—WCW-–Bash at the Beach-–TNA—and the absolute scrutiny that goes with the professional wrestling business. As the years passed, the depression just always seemed to get worse, I never felt good, and just always had thoughts of dying. That is hard for me to type here–-but, it's the truth. Then, when I walked away from TNA nearly 2 1/2 years ago–-it just hit rock bottom for me. There was just no place left to go in a business that I had worked in for 20 years. I prayed every night that God just allow me to see the next day, and it was only through his grace that I did. As I sit here typing this right now, right this minute–-I'm in the same exact place."

Hulk Hogan:

Kaitlyn interview:

On retiring...

"When I retired, it was a bit of a last-minute decision. I had been thinking about it for a while because there was a lot of things happening in my life and it was a transitional time for me. I had just gotten engaged, and I wanted to plan my wedding. I also had this project on the backburner, with this business site, that I wanted to wait to start until I retired from WWE. When I made the decision, rather quickly, to leave the WWE, I went full throttle into making my business work, while also planning a wedding. So it's been pretty hectic.''

On her wrestling future...

"I don't think I will ever wrestle again, but if I do, it would be for WWE. I just feel like that's my place. It's where I developed my wrestling abilities and character and that's where I would stay if I was to wrestle again. The good thing about when I left is that I left on very good terms with the WWE. It left the door open for me if I ever wanted to come back. It's not completely out of the question to ever return, whether it's for a short-term or longer. Maybe there will be a point down the line that I miss wrestling bad enough that I'll want to come back. As for now though, I'm just focusing on my company and my marriage and haven't gotten that itch to wrestle."

"I know what happened at WrestleMania where Brock Lesnar broke his streak. I think, or at least I'm hoping, that Taker's still going to come back and that he's not done. If he's not done, and he would consider doing it, I'd love to work with him one time. I'd love to wrestle him one time before I call it quits. I've done so many things in the wrestling business but the one thing I'd never done was wrestle or be a part of the WWE family. I didn't want too hang it all up and retire and disappear again without having done that in some capacity."

Mick Foley defends Batista:

''BATISTA DESERVED BETTER...

He was simply the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. Unfortunately for Dave Bautista (Batista), his return happened to be part of the perfect storm - the night WWE fans wanted Daniel Bryan - WWE Universe to walk out as the winner of the 2014 #RoyalRumble ...and would settle for nothing less. The initial reaction - the pop - was there when Dave made his Rumble entrance; the WWE Universe was excited to see him. They just didn't want anyone but Daniel Bryan to walk out of that match as the winner. Unfortunately, the fans directed their anger at Batista personally. And that's wrong. Shouldn't we be happy for Batista? He left his bread and butter - the WWE - to pursue the bold new dream of acting. Now he's landed a dream role, in a major motion picture - Marvel's #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy and, yet. no one seems very happy for him. Hey, I laughed too at #Bootista and #Bluetista. But Dave's a good guy, who worked hard to carve out a legacy inside WWE - and he deserved better than what he got. Just one guy's opinion. Feel free to share yours.''

Bret Hart interview:

On why he came back to WWE...

''I have way more great memories than I do bad. We had a great 14 years. We had that bad fall-out at the end, which I'm still sensitive about to this day. I suffered a stroke in 2002 that made everything else in my life that happened to that point pale in comparison. It was in the first few hours after I had a stroke that Vince [McMahon] gave me a call. Things were not good between us when that happened. He gave me a big pep talk in the hospital when I suffered my stroke. He talked about improving our relationship and doing things together down the road. I always wanted to be recognized and remembered for what I contributed to the company. He assured me that that would always be the case; to protect my reputation as far as what I accomplished there. Within the first few minutes we cleared so much off of the table. His words were that I was a fighter and that I would get back and get better. As I've got better over the years and recovered, I remember those dark hours and I'm grateful for that call. That softened things up for Vince and I and eventually I thumped him at Wrestlemania to write a better ending for us.''

On WrestleMania 12...

''I eager to raise the bar. I still think that for an hour match of any kind, no wrestlers have upstaged that match. Probably the hardest pro wrestling match any two wrestlers have ever had. Shawn was a great wrestler and a great athlete. That day when we had that match we were hell-bent on showing that you didn't have to be a 300-pound steroid freak to make wrestling popular again. I take a lot of pride in the direction that wrestling went.''

On forgiving Shawn Michaels...

''I found a great relief from forgiveness. Forgiving the whole thing and making peace with it and moving on. What a therapy for me, I felt a million pounds come off my back when that was over. I think Shawn Michaels was carrying a lot of grief and he felt really lousy for his role in everything. How he screwed me over and how he looked that day, it bothered Shawn for a long time. When we made that truce and hugged on Raw, I can see that grief that he carried for so long was all lifted. I realized a few months later what a good thing that was for us. I recommend that to anybody out there who has issues where they can't forgive someone, try to forgive; it's really good for your soul.''

On his career ending injury, suffered at the hands of Goldberg...

''A lot of people don't realize how severe a concussion injury is. You have to listen to the doctors. You have to be really careful about them. When I had my injury, so many of the wrestlers and people that I knew didn't believe I was hurt. I was pushed in the ring for so many weeks and when I finally saw a doctor he told me that my career was over. I had a pounding headache for almost two years, and a lot of side effects and ramifications that never leave. I still have balance issues from a kick to the head from one wrestler who didn't know his own strength. You can see now that there are a lot of steps being taken that a wrestler who has possibly suffered a concussion is being evaluated properly and you make sure he is safe before getting back in the ring. Back in my day you'd get a pat on the back and get pushed through the curtain. People in all sports are waking up to the fact that concussion injuries are really serious. The ramifications can be long-lasting and severe.''

Sting:

Sting is not going to be at Raw ''live'' tonight, but WWE insiders are promising fans tuning in hoping to see the iconic star, they will not be disappointed.

WWE finances:

It is reported that WWE need to reach 1.3 - 1.4 Million Network subscribers per month to recover from their financial crisis, they are at 667,000 at last released figures, but have promised to hit a Million by years end. It should be said that the Network could be the making or breaking of WWE, if they hit 2 Million subscribers, they would be richer than at any point in their history, if not...

It's real to me... Dammit:

Seth Rollins really is taking the Money In The Bank briefcase with him every where he goes, a fan bumped into Seth coming home from an event this weekend, and took this picture...

Rapper returns:
