Chris Jericho on WWE talent management:

"I don't see it that way. Wrestling is all about new talent and new turnaround of the stars. I could be the main event guy there for 20 years, but there's going to have to be other guys that come into that picture or else it's pretty boring and business will go really bad. There's only so much Jericho or so much HHH or so much Rock people can take. So you try different guys - some of them are bigger and don't really have the talent, they have more of the look. Some guys are small and go against the traditional WWE superstar, but yet are so damn good they make it to the top - I'm talking about guys like Eddie Guerrero, or even Shawn Michaels or Daniel Bryan right now. You have guys who would never be the typical WWE superstar, but because they were so damn good, they would rise to the top of the mountain. You have to realize that if you have 60 guys on the roster, the WWE is going to try and get every one of those 60 guys to world championship level. Some of them will make it, the majority won't, but until you try, you just never know. Everyone's got to get a full chance, if not, why are they even there on the payroll?"

Ric Flair:

A WWE insider has listed the issues WWE had with Ric Flair at the WWE games symposium...

* He criticised a WWE booking from 1992, when at WrestleMania 8, Hogan was put with Sid and Flair with Savage, hinting at a lack of courage in pulling out of the planned match.

* He mocked Hulk Hogan for his back surgeries.

* Flair said he would renege on his retirement clause and would return for WrestleMania 30.

* He said he would wrestle John Cena at the card.

* He says he bought Cena his first beer.

* Then accused Cena of being afraid of him.

* Complained about never getting to wrestle Austin, (They were booked to wrestle at King Of The Ring in 2002, but Austin's walk out meant Eddie Guerrero got the spot).

* Mick Foley said he would have loved to have wrestled Flair, to which Flair jumped over him saying they wrestled at a SummerSlam and for TNA.

* JR said that would need to be cut, Flair replied he didn't care.

* Flair and Foley then talked for a while about their time in TNA.

* Flair says The Undertaker didn't like taking his chops.

* He ribbed Bret Hart for being too scared to take the same move.

*** This is the one they are hottest about***

* When Daniel Bryan was asked about his favourite WrestleMania match, he joked he didn't feel like he belonged on the panel alongside the great names he was in company with, Flair was cutting in his response, saying...

''41 years of wrestling, you can imagine how I feel. Good lord, what would Harley (Race) say?''

*** WWE were furious that Flair diminished the guy they had booked to win (Although briefly) their top title, the next night***

* He mocked Mr. Perfect, talking like a child whilst impersonating him.

* He revealed a personal story about getting drunk with Jim Ross and his wife, and made somewhat disparaging comments about Mrs. Ross.

* He called Mick Foley a ''Human Jellyfish''

* He said he would be at Mania 30 with Austin, maybe spoiling Austin's return?.

* He then attacked his former wife, and told the crowd not to get married.

Bella's to TV:

The Bella's are guest stars on an episode of Psych this week.

WWE sign NFL star:

Monkeith Brown has rejected the chance to join Tampa Bay, and has instead signed a WWE developmental deal.

WrestleMania 2016:

Philadelphia vs Santa Clara...

These are the two cities that have made the final shortlist to host WrestleMania 32.

Bids and pitches will be made to Vince McMahon next week.

SPOILER!!!

Philadelphia are favourites to get it because they just missed out in a recent bid to get the show.

PPV to be dropped:

Hell In A Cell will be no more after this year, the match may still be used sporadically, but the PPV is to be axed.

SummerSlam change:

Next year will end a 5 year run of SummerSlam being held at the Staples Center. WWE plan on returning to the original host venue of the event Madison Square Garden in 2014.

Rey Mysterio:

Rey is now booked to appear at all of this weekend's live WWE events.

Top TNA star leaving next month:

Next month will see the end of the contract of AJ Styles, word is TNA are not overly interested in re-signing him, and the man himself has acknowledged a change could be coming, writing on his Facebook...

"Where do fans want AJ Styles to be? TNA? WWE? ROH? Japan? Lots of options. Tough decisions."

QUESTION OF THE DAY...

Where would you like to see AJ Styles end up - WWE, TNA, ROH, or Japan???.

Today's News

SummerSlam:

Despite having many scripts to avoid the betting scammer revealing the PPV results before the show, WWE stuck with the planned results in every single match on the card, none were changed.

Los Matadores:

Primo and Epico are to be known as ''Torito'' and ''Torlito'' from now on, they will also have a change in manager, Rosa Mendes has been dropped in favour of mini wrestler Mascarita Dorado.

Lex Luger:

Here is an ad for Lex Luger's biog, featuring the man himself, the book is now available to buy.

In promotion of the book he has discussed his friendship with the late Randy Savage...

"Contrary to what a lot of people probably think or might assume, behind the scenes we were always very good friends. Travelled together for long period of time, went to the gym together, travelled to Europe together, we played cards together. Even later on, when I had a relationship with Elizabeth, he'd already been divorced for so many years. He brought other women and valets to television…I think he's one of the best performers ever, and I'd love to see him in the Hall of Fame…"

Rey Mysterio:

Rey Mysterio who was disappointed not to make it back in time for SummerSlam, adding he would not likely be back for another month, may be back much sooner. He is being advertised to appear at this weekend's live event in Fresno.

Raw notes:

Internet rumour's are rife about an incident on Raw this week between CM Punk and a fan. Let's kill them. The fan was NOT a plant, and the altercation was NOT scripted. The fan made a comment to Punk that legit made him lose his sh*t, he called the fan out wanting to fight him, but the guy Punk called ''Fatso'' refused to back whatever he said up by taking the former WWE champion up on the offer.

Sin Cara's heat in the back is led by his great rival Alberto Del Rio, who was said to be ''Livid'' at what he called Cara's ''Lack of professionalism'' following Sin Cara quitting a match after hurting his hand, the injury is not serious, because he worked the pre show match at last night's TV taping's.

Paul Heyman talks relationship with Vince McMahon:

"(It is) Much better now that I'm not on the creative team because we're not butting heads on anything anymore. I just don't thrive in a creative environment that is dominated by a monopolistic dictator whose entire life is surrounded by the fact that it's his universe and thou shalt worship him as thy god."

SmackDown SPOILERS!!!:

* Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE title is confirmed for Night Of Champions.

* Cody Rhodes vs Curtis Axel

Note... Following the match Axel offered CM Punk a shot at his IC Title for Raw next week. The match will be a 2 on 1 bout with Heyman and Axel teaming vs Punk.

* Big E. Langston vs Dolph Ziggler

* Alberto Del Rio vs Christian

* Big Show & Mark Henry vs 3MB

* Antonio Cesaro vs Darren Young

* Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett

John Cena:

John Cena had his surgery this morning (Pic on wall). He has also revealed his disappointment with the rough reception he got from the Raw crowd whilst he was making his farewell speech, but said he would miss the WWE audience.

John Morrison to return to WWE:

JoMo refused to say when, but has today confirmed he will return to the ring... eventually...

"I originally got into wrestling because it was my first love, since I was a little kid it was what I wanted to do. And I still haven't found anything quite as cool as wrestling… It's something I'm going to get back to. The other question was is a return immanent, and I don't know. I'm shuffling through a bunch of things and I have a bunch of things that I want to accomplish in the movie biz before I go back to wrestling full time. Once you're on that full-time schedule, you don't really have control of your own time. But I am definitely coming back at some point."

QUESTION OF THE DAY...

Should WWE cut their losses and drop Sin Cara???

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Today's News

NXT release confirmed:

As I reported a few days ago Dante Dash's profile has been removed from WWE.Com, today conformation has come through that he has been released by the promotion.

SummerSlam:

Here is a video of Daniel Bryan leaving the arena after SummerSlam went off the air, and the crowd's reaction to the double title change finish.

Alberto Del Rio assault:

The full story of the pre SummerSlam assault on the World Champion has now emerged. A group of WWE stars were in an Irish bar close to the WWE hotel when a fellow customer made a comment to the female companion of Drew McIntyre, this remark was unheard by Drew, but was heard by Del Rio who confronted the guy making the comment. Whilst arguing with one guy a second hit Del Rio with a bottle, this then exploded into the brawl I reported yesterday.

Cena out:

John Cena's 2013 is over, he will have surgery on his elbow injury, and a torn triceps muscle, which will keep him off the road for 4 - 6 months.

Better news for Cena is he has topped the annual PWI 500 list this year, they cite as reasons....

* Winning the Rumble

* Beating The Rock at Mania

* Winning Money In The Bank

* Becoming an 11 time champion

* Beating CM Punk twice

He is the first wrestler to ever top the list 3 times.

WWE tag teams:

Big Show and Mark Henry will become an official team and will be going after the Tag Team Titles in the coming weeks, also Primo and Epico will now be known as Los Matadores.

Sin Cara injured... Again:

Sin Cara suffered broken fingers during Raw last night, leading to major backstage heat. WWE are already hot with Sin Cara because of being injury prone, so this won't help, however they are also angry that he ended the match early, with what WWE see as a minor injury.

He may require surgery, dependent on the severity of the damage.

WWE 2K14:

New ad released with the legends roster...

Also it seems WWE have dropped Bruno Sammartino from the game, he revealed he had signed on to appear on the game as part of his HOF deal, so unless he is on the main roster, he must have been pulled.

Antonio Cesaro is set to announce himself as a character on the game at an event in Germany later this week.

Scott Hall video diary:

Wow the Bad Guy is looking great, here is the 5 month landmark of Scott Hall's video diary...

QUESTION OF THE DAY...

Will you miss John Cena???, also will WWE miss him???.

Today's News

SummerSlam news and notes:

Dean Ambrose retained the US Title in the pre show match. As expected his Shield buddies, and Big Show and Mark Henry involved themselves, with RVD winning by DQ after Reigns attacked him in the ring.

Bray Wyatt won the ring of fire match on his SummerSlam debut beating Kane, with more than a little help from his friends.

Cody Rhodes beat Damien Sandow in a solid match, Rhodes pinned Sandow clean after a cross Rhodes.

Alberto Del Rio (Sporting a black eye, more on this later) retained the World Title beating Christian in a really good match.

Natalya Neidhart beat Brie Bella in the Total Diva's match. The crowd were really disappointing in this one, chanting for any one but the people in the ring, whatever your view of Women's wrestling, they at least deserve respect for putting their bodies on the line for the fans, bad form IMO.

Brock Lesnar bt CM Punk in the match of the year, Heyman repeatedly involved himself. The match was made a no DQ bout earlier in the show, and lived up to all the hype and then some.

Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn bt Big E. Langston & AJ Lee on her supercard debut, Ziggler pinned Langston.

Daniel Bryan became the new WWE Champion beating John Cena, only to drop it right away.

Bryan was celebrating in the ring when Randy Orton's music hit, he walked to the ring, but then seemed to change his mind, and began to walk back, then Triple H hit Daniel with the Pedigree, Orton stepped into the ring handed his MITB case over to HHH and pinned D-Bry to end his brief reign as Champ.

So the show ended with two major heel turns Hunter and Orton.

Notes...

Christian told WWE.Com that he is a lot to consider following his loss to Alberto Del Rio... (Retirement???)

Natalya dedicated her win to her Grandfather Stu, Uncle's Owen and Bret, and her dad Jim The Anvil Neidhart.

Big Show fumed at the end of the show, threatening to knock Triple H out...

CM Punk says He is not finished with Paul Heyman.

Punk and Lesnar were given a standing ovation by the other wrestlers as they returned to the back following their incredible match.

Today's Photo is a shot of a dejected Daniel Bryan sitting on the ramp after the show had gone off the air.

Betting scammer scuppered:

The Reddit user who had been revealing PPV results for people to bet on has blogged on his failure to predict SummerSlam's results, revealing WWE's steps to stop his scheme....

"First and foremost, I want to make it clear that this has been my only account, and my only user name that I have ever posted on. I am not on any social media. I don't post on any other forums, and I have never revealed myself to anyone. The rumors claiming that I have been caught by WWE are totally false. I have not contacted the WWE in any way and my identity is well protected. From the information I have received, WWE Personnel will do anything to ensure I do not go undefeated again. It is my understanding that some of the matches on tonight's card have multiple scripts, including the MAIN EVENT, which to my knowledge, Vince changed on a whim TODAY. Therefore, it would be fruitless and deceiving to post all spoilers to an event where the outcomes have otherwise not yet been fully revealed. I am still in communication with my source; and if I am able to receive credible information regarding match outcomes, I will post them on my newly created twitter account @dolphinsreddit as well as on this thread to anyone who is interested."

Alberto Del Rio assaulted:

The real reason for Alberto Del Rio's facial injuries has emerged, he was assaulted outside the WWE hotel on Saturday night by two men at an Irish bar, a verbal confrontation involving ADR and one or two men escalated and he was attacked outside, Fellow WWE star Drew McIntyre jumped in to help the World Champion, but took a kicking too, when friends of the two men involved themselves in the altercation.

WWE explained the injury, saying Christian's finish the kill switch had caused the damage, however he did not have the injury during the pre PPV festivities.

AJ Lee milestone:

AJ Lee has become the first female WWE star to pass 1 million followers on Twitter.

Raw teaser:

* What does CM Punk have planned for Paul Heyman and his minions?

* How will Christian rally to make another run at the World Title?

* Who will Bray Wyatt target next?

* How will Daniel Bryan recover from being betrayed at SummerSlam, can he recover?

* What's next for Randy Orton and how does Triple H fit into the plans?

Tag team to be repackaged:

Primo and Epico are to be given a Matador gimmick in the coming weeks.

Flair heat with WWE:

WWE are hot with Ric Flair after he ''Hi-Jacked'' a WWE 2K14 video game press conference, he was due to sign a new WWE legends deal on Saturday, and have a guest appearance at SummerSlam, both were pulled because of his behaviour at the games event.

Paige to come up:

NXT Women's champ Paige, who recently turned 21, may be on her way to the main roster, Paul Heyman says he is going to NXT to recruit a new Heyman girl, She is expected to be that girl.

John Cena:

John Cena will have his elbow surgery this week, his length of absence will not be known until the surgery is done. Word from the back is he plans to be gone as long as is needed, hoping to return 100%. He usually rushes himself back as early as possible, but is not thought to be willing to do so this time. He also suffered an eye injury at SummerSlam last night.

Matt Striker:

Matt Striker will host the WWE MSG DVD, the footage is thought to have been filmed before he left the company earlier this year.

Roddy Piper snubbed:

Roddy Piper is one of many big names omitted from the WWE 2K14 video games legends roster, and he is not happy...

"No Roddy Piper in 30 yrs of WM? Then it's not 30 yrs of WM!"

Maryse talks missing WWE:

"I like having a social life, I like not being on the road 280 days a year and do whatever I want to do and work on other projects. To be honest with you, I kind of miss the entertainment part of it, being able to walk down the ramp, flipping my hair, giving people the hand... so I miss that part, but when you leave, you have to understand that you're leaving that behind... But I love my life now."

QUESTION OF THE DAY...

What did you think of SummerSlam 2013???

Today's News

Alberto Del Rio on Ricardo's future:

"I thought it was time to go my own way. I'm pretty sure (He) is going to be OK."

Natalya rejects Playboy:

"This isn't against anyone that's done anything like that, but, I don't know, I'm Stu Hart's granddaughter and I have a very big, big legacy to uphold. That's never really been my cup of tea."

WWE star attacks current champ:

Dolph Ziggler has done a SummerSlam blog, and in his predictions for tonight's main event he has savaged John Cena....

"Cena, personally I'm sick of him. Ten years, doing the same thing, same five moves, the crowd loves him, the crowd hates him, either way, he does the same thing ... I'm sick of it. I understand the awesome charity work he does, I understand what he represents, he makes a great face for our company ... I'd rather see his face on a WWE dollar bill than Daniel Bryan's, But I feel like we need a change, and as much as I feel like I'm that change, Daniel Bryan is in the position to actually beat John Cena."

Brooke Hogan:

TNA fans, you may not have seen the last of Mr. Hogan's baby girl. TNA say they felt her role on TNA had run it's course, and she has personal matters away from wrestling to deal with, but added that they would leave the door open and would work with her again.

Velvet Sky apologises:

Velvet Sky has written to her fans and colleagues to apologize for missing this weeks TV taping's...

"Wanted to apologize to my co-workers and amazing fans for not being able to compete at Hardcore Justice last night. I had an extreme emergency scare, but am ok now. I am so pleasantly overwhelmed by all of my loyal fans for your concern. You guys and gals mean so much and I appreciate each one of you. Thank you for always being so genuinely supportive of me. I will see you guys soon."

SummerSlam backstage news and potential SPOILERS!!!:

Chris Masters has tweeted he will be at SummerSlam tonight.

Ric Flair and Rey Mysterio have also been around as part of the pre PPV festivities.

Axxess had it's problems however, many fans and talent had issues because of the high temperatures, and TV host Larry King offended many by ignoring queues and taking his sons straight to the front of the meet and greet line, and then stayed and talked for a long time with the talents. Fans jeered him loudly.

WWE are conflicted because Total Diva's and SummerSlam will both be on air at the same time tonight.

Right don't read this next bit if you don't want to know about possible SPOILERS for tonight...

WWE still plan on using the pre-show to add a 6 man tag to the card.

The Total Diva's tag match may be added to the card in place of Natalya vs Brie, the other Total Diva's stars will at least have a part to play in the match, even if they stay with the 1 on 1 bout.

Triple H vs The McMahon's stories will begin tonight.

Randy Orton is expected to be involved in the main event (Cashing in his case).

***END OF SPOILERS***

Has thanked fans for the support he has received this week...

"Words cant express how greatful I am 4 all the love & support from EVERYONE!!!!! I'm proud 2b who I am & blessed 2b where I am."

WrestleMania 30:

2K14's WrestleMania roster is the start of a big WrestleMania angle, it sounds like they plan to mark the anniversary with some sort of legends match or role call to acknowledge those that went before.

Today's News

Lex Luger interview:

On being promised the WWF title...

"Contrary to what people believe, I was never told I was going to be given any kind of title. The only discussion me and Vince [McMahon] had was what to do with the Lex Luger character in the future if he DID decide to put the title on me. But no, I was never told I'd be WWF Champion at any point."

On joining WCW...

"On reflection, that was a pretty bad move by me. Me and Vince had a verbal agreement. I worked for him for 6 months without any sort of contract as my contract had expired. My mistake came when WCW signed me. I didn't get to have a conversation with Vince to tell him I'd be leaving. But that was 100% my fault."

Today's News

Bryan blames Cena:

Daniel Bryan has blamed John Cena for his 2010 WWE firing, he acknowledged the incident (The Nexus invasion angle) and the widely reported reason for his release, (Choking out Justin Roberts with his tie), but also added that he spat at John Cena, and it is that He blames for the severity of the punishment...

"WWE is very serious about adhering to their PG guidelines, and apparently my actions during the NXT attack on John Cena, namely choking announcer Justin Roberts with his tie and spitting in Cena's face, crossed the boundaries of what is considered 'PG. Perhaps the choking was too violent or perhaps the spit was too demeaning. I apologized for both immediately following the incident; but I would be a hypocrite if I apologized for putting everything I have into the attack. I would much rather have gone too far than to come up too short."

TNA:

Tito Ortiz turned heel to help Bully Ray regain the TNA World Championship last night.

TNA SPOILERS!!!:

For 22/8...

* Bobby Roode & Kazarian vs Gunner & James Storm

* Manik vs Sonjay Dutt

* Christopher Daniels vs Hernandez vs Jay Bradley vs Joseph Park

* Gail Kim vs ODB

* Aces And Eights vs Main Event Mafia

The loser of the fall in this match was fired, and a big name returned to take Kurt Angle's spot.

TNA also announced that the next TV special will be No Surrender, with this promo...

Velvet Sky no showed the taping's.

Darren Young:

Darren Young has been doing the media rounds following his announcement (See yesterday), he revealed he talked to an openly gay NBA star to ask advice before making the public statement, and that his lover was the reason he made the choice to speak out (Pic to follow).

The WWE chief has added his support to Darren...

Vince McMahon said...

"I respect @DarrenYoungWWE's decision to come out and am happy to see the support from the WWE Universe."

His former Girl Friend, fellow WWE star Tamina has also had her say...

"@DarrenYoungWWE It takes a lot of Heart and Courage to Know Who Are #YouAreAmazing"

Former ref to wrestle:

Good to luck Jimmy Korderas who will have his first ever wrestling match this weekend.

Trish Stratus:

Has announced She is to have a baby boy next month (Pic on wall).

New SummerSlam match:

Big Show has been cleared to compete at SummerSlam, however WWE now has no time to create a story for a match, so the plan is to use the Pre Show kick off match between Dean Ambrose and Rob Van Dam as a reason for a tag match. The plan is The Shield would be helping Ambrose retain his title, with Show and Henry coming out to even the odds, leading to a 6 man tag match on the main show later in the night.

Ex creative writer reveals some backstage stories:

Andrew Greenfield was interviewed by John Pollock...

When Vince called Christian ugly...

"Right before I started, there was a big show, I think it might have been in Toronto. Christian was just so completely over, and everybody thought he was going to get a push at, I think it was the World Heavyweight Championship at that point. We were on the plane one time shortly after I started, and Vince was just like 'God damn, I just don't like his face. His face really bothers me.' I was like, 'He's ugly, Vince?' 'No, it's not that he's ugly, it's just, I don't know, it's ratty! You know what we should do? That Kennedy gimmick.' And we're all like, 'What?' Some scion of the Kennedy fortune I guess got arrested for rape in the 1990s at some point. When the woman who was accusing him was on the stand, all of the networks put a blue dot over her face. Vince was like, 'God damn, you know what we should do? We should put a blue dot over his face whenever he comes out.' It was the flight to Sheffield, England, also the flight where the Spirit Squad idea was invented. This was a whole flight of bad ideas."

On Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels backstage fight...

"I always found Shawn to be an entitled prick. He tried this sh-t with Angle one night; Angle wasn't having it, and threw him around like a rag-doll. I remember I was supposed to do some sort of stand-up interview, a backstage deal with Angle afterward, and Shawn comes up like a house of fire, like 'You were taking liberties!' And it's because Shawn was booked to lose a match and started his overselling nonsense, because that's the kind of thing he always did because he's a guy who hated losing. I don't argue with anyone that, when he's working with friends in exactly the way he wants, yes, he's one of the best performers of all time. That doesn't mean you're one of the best performers of all time, though, if you can't do it with people who aren't your friends."

Triple H talks transition from the ring to the boardroom:

Kane:

Film makers of the next See No Evil movie have announced they want to make Kane's character Jacob Goodnight a horror icon, hinting at many more movies to come in the franchise.

Big Show:

Show announced at an event last night that he has signed a 5 year active WWE deal.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...

Were WWE right to fire Daniel Bryan for embarrassing John Cena???
