Today's News

Royal Rumble:

Sheamus and Cesaro have added their names to the Royal Rumble match line up.

WWE tribute soured:

WWE paid tribute to Hall Of Famer Superfly Jimmy Snuka with a VT on Raw last night. Sadly the package was soured as it came to an end by a section of the audience booing. WWE have also been criticised for honouring Snuka, after the way they snubbed Chris Benoit after his death, and for acknowledging his HOF status on TV and on social media, but refusing to return him to the HOF section of their website (Which I can understand. It is silly to try to hide he is a HOF'er on their site at the same time as referring to him as one on all of their shows and social media profile)...

HOF'er confirmed:

As one HOF'er bows out, the first new addition of 2017 is now official. WWE aired Kurt Angle's induction package on Raw last night, and confirmed he will be the headline inductee.

WWE sign British indie:

WWE are close to coming to terms on signing a deal with ICW for the Network. They are asking them to tone down their output, which is described as close to ECW. The deal is for 2-3 years, and will be announced later this week.

Injury:

A Main Event match had to be stopped last night after Darren Young injured his arm or shoulder.

Is Angle retired?:

The most famous unwritten rule about HOF induction is you have to be retired to go in. This has led to questions about Kurt Angle's future in the sport. He addressed them today...

"I can't really say. But if I am, I'm OK with it...I will tell you this, Lilian. That's the only reason I would do it. I will not do it for myself. I would do it for you and the fans out there. It's no longer about me."

HOF 2017:

The female inductee for this years WWE class has reportedly leaked, and will, if true, be Beth Phoenix. Beth had a hugely successful 4 years with WWE, with multiple title reigns, and arguably the greatest PPV career for a woman, including a Royal Rumble match, to her name. She left in 2012 and has become a mother with her HOF'er husband Edge, but this news would raise similar questions for her, as Kurt is now answering, she is often asked about a return, will she confirm her retirement by accepting? Beth has also said she feels it is too soon for her to go in, as there are many other women that paved the way that deserve it before her, so it might not be an easy decision for her.

Retirement ends:

Matt Morgan is coming back to wrestling in April.

Former champ back tonight?:

Mickie James is reportedly returning to SmackDown tonight.

WWE movie released:

WWE Surf's Up 2 is out today.

Fink landmark:

Howard Finkel is marking 40 years of working for WWE today.

Injury:

Tajiri has suffered a knee injury. The injury happened at an NXT live.

WWE edit crowd:

WWE edited the crowd reaction to Roman Reigns losing his US title last week. A man that celebrated in the crowd noted that they made it look like he was shocked with the result, but posted his own footage of him celebrating the win for Y2J.

Major announcement:

Shane McMahon is promising a huge statement for SmackDown tonight.

Official tease...

  • Who will win the historic SmackDown Women's Championship Steel Cage Match?
  • Shane to kick off SmackDown LIVE with a huge announcement
  • Will Ziggler keep his cool as "King's Court" returns hosted by Jerry "The King" Lawler?
  • Internal turmoil threatens the future of The Wyatt Family
  • Can The Miz rejoin the A-list?
  • What will result from Carmella taking Ellsworth on a shopping spree?

Fan incident:

Randy Orton was reportedly involved in an incident with a fan at a gym last night. A fan approached Randy to ask for an autograph, but Orton said no, the fan then walked away, but snapped a quick pic before he left. Orton then lost it and went for the fan, and was very abusive and angry, before storming out of the gym.
