Today's News

RVD update:

F4W report that Rob Van Dam has still not agreed to a new WWE contract.

PWI contradict this however, they claim he has a unique contract with WWE, where he can come in for a 90 day run and leave again for as long as he wants, Van Dam is completely in control of when he wants to work the dates. This deal was brokered between by HHH and RVD, but was signed off by Vince McMahon.

Which ever story you believe, or turns out to be correct, we will probably next see RVD at the Royal Rumble. In the meantime he can work other dates and for other promotions, but WWE have asked him not to appear in televised matches.

Alberto Del Rio on Rey Mysterio:

The current World champion has called his fellow Mexican a ''Legend'' and says WWE need him back...

"We're waiting for him, we need him, he's a great Superstar. He's a legend, and he'll be back soon."

WWE:

WWE placed an ad in Columbus, Ohio for seat fillers, they needed 60 seats to be filled directly in front of the camera to aid the production value. (Meaning they didn't want the place to look empty).

This was for last night's SmackDown and Main Event taping's.

SmackDown SPOILERS!!!:

* Promo, Vickie Guerrero promises Alberto Del Rio to cancel the Hell In A Cell match vs John Cena if he kisses her derriere, he kisses her on the lips, and Damien Sandow comes out to join in (The promo, not the kiss).

* Curtis Axel vs R-Truth (IC title)

* El Locals (One of whom was Ricardo Rodriguez) vs Los Matadores

* Brie Bella, Cameron & Naomi vs Eva Marie, Kaitlyn & Natalya

* Alberto Del Rio vs Damien Sandow

* Great Khali & Prime Time Playaz vs 3MB

* The Rhodes Brothers vs The Wyatt Family

Name changes:

TNA star Brooke has decided to drop the name ''Tessmacher'' from her ring name, and will now revert to simply being called by her first name.

A WWE star has also been re-branded, Shawn Spears, who was known as Gavin Spears during his first WWE run, is now known as Tye Dillinger.

John Cena:

WWE officials have defended bringing Cena back early. They say his injury was not nearly as bad as first thought, and was just a partial triceps tear. WWE were going to allow Cena to stay away until January, and that is why they gave a longer than accurate recovery time for the injury, but have decided the thinness of the roster means they need him back, this story line was written and booked in just a couple of days over the weekend.

He has also defended his TV ad (See yesterday)...

Also referencing the Hulk Hogan in a thong ad...

"It's getting kids to be more active, I figured it's a good thing to do. Every once in awhile you should be able to look at yourself and smile, and look within yourself and laugh.''

On Hulk...

''So the commercial starts, and I'm seeing Hulk Hogan on the wrecking ball and he's using his legendary and iconic do-rag, sunglasses, fu manchu, boa. He kicks the guy in the face, I'm like, 'you know what, that's a good...' No, no, and then it all goes wrong. That's a little too much, they should have stopped at the boot to the face, brother."

On being rushed back too soon...

"It's not just my opinion here, it's the opinion of the WWE medical staff, my surgeon, my physical therapist. I had to clear it with all those people. I'm cleared, I'm ready to go, and on October 27th I'll be as ready and as strong as I've ever been."

WWE creative:

Michael Hayes has not been to work in the WWE creative department for weeks, he is said to be working through some personal issues and is not expected back for a while yet.

HBK to end retirement?:

Backstage rumours say Shawn Michaels' return to TV at the Hell In A Cell PPV will lead to a WrestleMania 30 match, early rumours are a teacher vs student match between himself and Daniel Bryan.

Next top Diva:

Triple H is a big fan of Aksana, they have big plans for her and are working on a deal to make sure they keep her around.

Maryse interview:

Maryse says she will marry The Miz in the Bahama's in February. She also opened the door to a possible WWE return in a UK interview...

"You never know. I had a really great career, a long run. [I was the] longest Divas champion. You never know."

Steph selling up:

Stephanie McMahon has today sold another 6,000 WWE shares for $74,000.

Hell In A Cell:

A third match has been added to the card...

CM Punk vs Ryback

QUESTION OF THE DAY...

Should retirement stipulations be upheld, or would you like to see HBK back in the big dance one more time???
