Today's News

NFL star to WWE:

After a week of training at the WWE performance center Shawn Merriman was not offered a contract.

He says he didn't want one, as he was just visiting friends.

Big Show talks John Cena:

"Surprised but not surprised. I knew John was going to come back early. I didn't know he would come back this early. I've known him for a long time. Since day one when he walked in the door his work ethic and the bar that he sets is a lot higher than everyone else. We'll fly 16, 18 hours to Australia to the Middle East, Abu Dhabi or something like that. After an 18 hour plane right, the only thing I was to do really is get something to eat, have a nice shower and go to bed. John hits, right away he goes to the gym. No matter how little sleep he's had, he goes to the gym everyday. He has that work ethic. His drive and his commitment, the things he does for the community and outside things we do for this company like Susan G. Komen and Make-a-Wish and Special Olympics and all the things John does. The guy constantly goes. I think one time someone told him he was like 77 or 78 days in a row without a day off. Like he did something every single day. Most of us go bat nuts crazy after 15, 16 days in a row. We all need to be cooled off and sent home so we can keep our mental faculties. He's just got that drive and work ethic so I knew he would be back."

As MVP prepares for his 40th birthday he has decided now is the time to return to wrestling. He says he will be back on TV with WWE or TNA before too long, and from this statement he made praising Vince McMahon, it seems WWE would be his preferred choice...

"So "40" is now days away. If I make it, I'll spend the day contemplating my journey. I had lots of friends that didn't make it this far. 40. Single. Home owner. Tax payer. Semi law abiding citizen (we all speed). I'm in a great place in life. Im healthy & happy. Life is great. I'm on a VERY short list of professional wrestlers who have had the HONOR of working on Wrestle Kingdom AND Wrestlemania! MVP has changed my life in SO many positive ways. Thanks Vince. Huge heat on Ryback:

WWE are thought to be at a cross road with Ryback, and are wondering where else they can go with him. He has heat for a number of reasons including...

* Lack of development in his ring work.

* Getting worse in the ring.

* Hurting top stars, such as CM Punk.

* Poor personal behaviour when representing the company.

Vince McMahon is said to be so fed up he plans to remove Paul Heyman from him. The question is where does that leave Ryback?.

WWE top 10:

Hell In A Cell moments of The Undertaker...

Backstage Row:

Ariel recalls backstage spat with Batista...

"Batista and I had an aggressive conversation backstage and he said something that were unnecessary and uncalled for. If it was outside of wrestling, I'm pretty sure it could have been a legal problem for both Batista and WWE. But this is wrestling, and it's a man's business, so I fired back and they fired me. I was just a vampire girl in the fake ECW; he was Batista, and they wanted to accommodate him."

QUESTION OF THE DAY...

What do you think of Ryback, next big thing, or total flop???
