The NCAA's version of the Heisman Trophy, given to the top wrestler annually, is called the Dan Hodge Award. The truth is out there:
WWE have revealed the truth behind 8 of wrestling's most famous Urban Legends...
* 1...
Vince would never fire Shawn Michaels...
False...
Shawn Michaels and his then partner Marty Jannetty WERE fired by Vince McMahon, before their WWE careers ever really started. In 1988 perennial jobber Jimmy Jack Funk took offence to the new young stars on the block and during a visit to a local drinking establishment decided to haze them. He was sitting at a table eating glass (Because that's what you did in the 80's) and was constantly challenging the boys to prove that they ''Knew how to party'', Shawn eventually grew tired of the goading and grabbed a glass, and smashed it on his own head. Jimmy Jack went to the office and told Vince that the Rockers trashed the bar, and they were released.
They of course did return later the same year, and the rest is history.
* 2.
Vince sent Nash and Hall to WCW, to kill the competition...
False...
Some really believe that Vince wanted rid of WCW, and orchestrated a maniacal plan to send two of his top guys over to poison their brand.
The facts prove this story is untrue, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall went for the money, and WCW whooped WWE in the ratings for more than a year and a half, Vince's ego wouldn't allow that to happen on purpose.

* 5
WWE funded ECW...
True...
But is wasn't as philanthropic as it sounds. Vince wanted to get fans to return to WWE during the Monday Night Wars, and decided that a pairing with the Extreme promotion would get fans to give them another look. ECW also profited from a greater national, and international exposure.
* 6
Bret Hart knew all about the Montreal screwjob...
False...
No he didn't, He says he had bad feelings about the night, but he trusted Earl Hebner would not betray him. Vince McMahon said he made what was a ''Purely Business decision''.
* 7
There were two Ultimate Warriors...
False...
This one is gold, fans believed that the ''Real'' Ultimate Warrior died in 1991, and WWE (Then F) brought in a new guy to replace him, hoping fans wouldn't notice.
What really happened was The Ultimate Warrior was fired in a dispute over money at SummerSlam 1991, WWE decided to bring him back at WrestleMania 8 in 1992. He returned with a different haircut and more defined muscles, and also changed his ring gear, but was the same guy, there is and was only one Ultimate Warrior.
