Backlash following yesterday's WWE releases:
World Champion Dolph Ziggler has led the negative feedback, tweeting of his Brother's firing...
"Countless @wwe peeps personally told me how hard @HotYoungBriley worked & how he was the most entertaining guy in NXT #WeirdBiz"
Recently released Trent Barreta also weighed in...
"Very p*ssed about talented friends being fired. Can't explain things without sounding like a crazy person. It's gross, I promise."
Some of those released are also upset, Derrick Bateman and Anya have both been dropped whilst recovering from injury, and Brandon Traven was on his way to an NXT event when he got the call, leading to criticism that the WWE wielded the axe for the sake of it, not with any forethought.
WWE vs TNA:
TNA Chief Dixie Carter has stated her desire to hold a joint WWE / TNA PPV event. She believes it will show wrestling fans that there is an alternative to WWE, and end the boredom that is driving fans away from the sport due to the WWE dominance. Also the attention TNA will get from the show would of course benefit them greatly...
She told Digital Sky...
"I don't think [the WWE] shares my belief in this, but I believe that competition is 100% positively essential, I think it's important for fans and for us. To have one company dominate, a) it's boring, and you are not being challenged enough. It's always better to have other options out there and I truly believe it makes both companies better. absolutely would do that. I'm not sure if they would do that (a crossover event), but I absolutely would."

He tweeted to a fan...

"Any particular reason or just the overall doucheness and politicking he exhibits?"
WWE:
Julie Tustin is the new chief of WWE Movies.
The Rock:
The Rock says he is ''Confident'' that his wrestling career is over, adding a dig at the WWE locker room in an interview with CBS promoting Fast 6...
"The 4 month run I had in WWE was really eye opening. I was able to see a lot of young talent that are very hungry and very humble. What's interesting is there were some talent there who, it's just the nature of the business, have become very sour grapes and miserable. The younger guys were very excited and there was that hunger that reminded me of myself 10 to 15 years ago when I first started."
