Today's News

Buff Bagwell on WWE:

Buff Bagwell says he gave up a $120,000 deal to wrestle for WWE in 2001, we all know how that went... He also admitted he made up the TNA contract offer, saying he never had a meeting with Eric Bischoff.

DX star gets WWE contract:

X-Pac has announced he was offered and has signed a WWE legends contract, so expect him to appear on WWE TV more often. IMO this is another clue to HOF induction for DX this year.

Chris Jericho interview:

On not joining TNA...

"The main reason is that I always wanted to work for Vince McMahon ever since I was a kid. I've never worked for anybody else since I stepped through the doors in August of 1999 and I never will work for anyone else. I don't want to go to Japan. I don't want to go to Mexico for shots. I don't want to go work in TNA. I'm a WWE guy. That's the way it's always going to be. I'm sure TNA is a great company to work for. I'm sure you can do really well there or make some great money or whatever. It doesn't matter to me. I work for the big leagues. There's no reason for me to go anywhere else."

On Chris Benoit...

"I was like everybody else. Shocked. A sense of 'what the [expletive]' happened. Denial. Betrayal. How can he do this?. I look back at it now, and I was really close with him, but he got considerably stranger and stranger the last six months of his life. I was like, what's with this guy? What's wrong with him? And now I know the reason why. It's because his brain got worse and worse."

WWE release Paul Bearer tribute video:

This package will air on SmackDown tonight, and Raw next week...

It ends with a final Rest In Peace from The Undertaker...

TNA also aired a tribute at the start of last night's Impact.

The details of His funeral service have been confirmed, and released...

TNA:

D'Lo Brown was named as the VP of Aces and Eights on Impact last night.

The Rock:

WWE Champ The Rock has wrapped filming on his TV show, and will now be free to return to WWE. He has also committed himself to post WrestleMania dates, including Extreme Rules..

Christopher Daniels on WWE vs TNA:

"The TNA roster is made up of guys who are hungry and who are looking to make their break on the national scene, who may or may not have had that opportunity in WWE. What I think differentiates us is I feel like we're a little more action-packed. I feel like we have the most talented roster in professional wrestling, and we have guys like Bobby Roode, James Storm, and Kurt Angle, then we have myself and my partner Frankie Kazarian, and I feel like we're the best tag team in the business right now, and to me, TNA puts more of a priority on the in-ring action. I think you'll see a lot more great wrestling in TNA than anywhere else in the world."

Angelina Love rejects TNA return:

Angelina was asked to participate in one of the upcoming PPV taping's, she says she said no, ''Politely''.

TNA X Division Title Match

Fandango:

WWE have not yet decided on a regular female dance partner for Fandango, they are currently hiring local performers from cities they are visiting.

Eric Pankowski:

In a correction from a previous post regarding the head of Creative, Pankowski has actually been released by WWE, due to not being able to get on with the roster, and getting into heated arguments with top talent who expressed any opinion contrary to what he wanted them to do, including expecting them to do and say things completely out of character for them, and wanting to do things that would not work on TV. It was said he stubbornly stuck to his Hollywood mentality, and made no effort to adapt to the pro wrestling world.

The news of a major change in creative was breaking as I posted yesterday's news, previously Brian Gerwitz worked above a lead writer for Raw and SmackDown, and he signed off stories before sending them to Vince McMahon for final approval, Pankowski apparently did not like that set up and wanted to be more hands on with the creative process, so when the news of a major change in creative broke late yesterday, I thought he must have gotten his way, this news came a bit out of left field, especially coming so close to WrestleMania.

Sorry about the mix-up on that one...

Landmark for Cesaro:

Antonio Cesaro has hit the 200 day mark as US Champion, making him the 5th best, behind MVP, Chris Benoit, The Miz and Shelton Benjamin.

Rivals DVD:

More feuds to be covered on the upcoming WWE DVD have been released today...

* Randy Orton vs. Triple H

* Bruiser Brody vs. Abdullah the Butcher

* Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar

* The Undertaker vs. Kane

Rey Mysterio:

WWE have suggested to Rey Mysterio, that he should consider retirement. He has torn up what he considers his good knee, and WWE, who concede he was one injury away from needing a complete knee replacement are urging him to make the tough decision. He has one year left on his current deal.

Daniel Bryan and Kane:

WWE are planning an angle where Daniel and Kane defend their tag titles at Mania, drop them, and then split up at the event, for good. I am hearing a multi team match, possibly including Prime Time Playaz, Cody and Sandow, and The New Age Outlaws, but there is nothing confirmed yet.
