Today's News

Stone Cold sticking around:

Word coming out of WWE is Austin is not coming back for a single match, but may be returning as a full roster member, possibly for as much as two years. JR however has played down Austin's comments about training for a comeback, he says he doubts he was referring to wrestling.

Thanks... Now FU:

Michael Elgin has stunned ROH officials by quitting as soon as he returned to the USA from Canada. The company had announced his return to the promotion set to happen this weekend, but after receiving his visa to return to the States to work for ROH, he immediately made it clear he had no intention of returning to the group...

"@Ringofhonor I said this on our call, thank you for getting me back home. But, an article doesn't fix lies and damage done. I QUIT."

The Rock:

The Rock made a surprise WWE return last night on Raw. The appearance was not pre planned by WWE, Rock was in Town for meetings with Time Warner, those meetings finished early enough for him to visit the WWE show, and they quickly worked the angle with Rusev into the script to utilize him.

Hell In A Cell:

Two new matches announced...

John Cena vs Dean Ambrose...

Winner of the above vs Seth Rollins (Hell In A Cell match), this will be the main event.

Awesome Kong / Kharma rules out return:

Chris Jericho defends continuing WWE career:

"I'm as cutting edge and creative as I've ever been. Sometimes fans will put restrictions on you because of your age. My last match with the company was against Randy Orton and we stole the show. We were telling a great story, and doing things in the match that other people wouldn't do or couldn't do. As long as I can still cut new ground and have great matches, with fire and passion, I'll continue to come back."

CM Punk returns to wrestling:

JR talks wrestling future:

"To clear up some speculation regarding my return to pro wrestling, while I am a 'free agent' as it relates to broadcasting pro wrestling events, my interest level in pursuing such is moderate at best. Would I re-engage the process in some form? Yes, but I'm uncertain as to what those terms would have to be. I still love the business and get the 'itch' to broadcast the genre that I spend 40 years of my life doing but there are so many things that I'm doing or going to do career wise that I simply don't know where the pro wrestling opportunities fit. Time will tell but I'm still a student of that game and more importantly a fan. I have personally had zero talks about doing pro wrestling in the future but there has been some contact with my representative but as I understand it those talks were exploratory and preliminary at best. I've been asked about the New Japan January 4 PPV event but I'd say that jumping on board with that assignment is a long shot at this time although I do wish all involved the best in this endeavor. I can certainly see where the PPV component in the English speaking, worldwide marketplace has potential if it is marketed strategically and aggressively."

Stephanie McMahon reveals her Dad stopped her relationship with HHH:

"It was not always just all roses. We were given permission and then it was taken away. In terms of the reasons why, I don't know if he was getting pressure. It was a really big thing in our business for the top star to be dating the boss' daughter and all of the implications it could have."

Raw guest slammed for anti wrestling views:

Kathy Lee Gifford will appear on Raw tonight, but she has not always been a fan of wrestling, writing in her 1992 book, about meeting stars of the past, she shared her ire for Rick Rude and The Bushwhackers in particular...

"Then there was the "animal" known as Ravishing Rick Rude. Now, I have a problem with Reege's wrestling thing. We aren't exactly McNeil-Lehrer out there, but I think the wrestlers' shtick lowers the quality of the show a notch or two. Some of them are pretty sleazy. Rick Rude was about as low as the get, right down there with the Bushwhackers. If there was a gold championship belt for the most horrible disgusting-smelling people, the Bushwhackers would have been wearing it the day they came on. They tried to hold me and kiss me. First of all, I'm sorry, but don't touch me, and second of all, I don't kiss people I don't want to kiss. And Cody (her then-infant son) was there with me that day. They chased me all over the set and I ran off, locked myself in my dressing room-nursery with Cody, and refused to come out. I was afraid they'd come right in there after me to bushwhack Cody. But the absolute low point was a year or so before when Ravishing Rick Rude came out, bragging about his "Rude Awakening" at wrestling arenas. Young women are hand-picked to go into the ring with him, where this muscle-bound baboon embraces and kisses them until they just pretend to faint dead away with ardor as he stands over his latest conquest. It's a pathetic spectacle, so of course Gelman booked him. This guy comes out in his "Simply Ravishing" sequined robe, kisses my hand ever so gently, and sits there giving me the eye like he'd been behind bars for a decade. Nonstop. It's not like we ask them tough questions - like, "Duhh, howdja get dose muscles?" We let them pretty much do their thing - which, cartoonish and entertaining as it is to some people, has its place in the world. But not this kind of stuff. I was so flustered I crossed my legs and one shoe dropped off my foot. Gracious host that I am, I humored him ("Rick, you're sweet talking me") while Reege sucked up to him by mooning over his title belt. (Rude was the WWF IC Champ at the time. -D) "This guy," he said, "is the best built of all the wrestlers. He's got a tremendous physique and great sex appeal. With an ego to match. He asked me how tall I was and I told him "really short, I got stumps for legs." He leered at me and said, "Those don't look like no stubs I've ever seen before. Reege egged him on. "Honest to God, I sense something going on here! Frank is out of town, isn't he?" Yeah, I said. Rick's manager is now on. (Bobby Heenan) "This guy is looking her over and making her very nervous," Reege tells him. "The woman is coming unglued." "Kathie Lee needs a Rude Awakening," the manager says. "Kathie Lee," I say, "has had a few rude awakenings." "Not this rude, not this rude." "Over the airways, " Rick says, staring at my body, "I could see that Kathie Lee was the most beautiful woman on television. Now, as I draw closer and closer, I just can't believe it. Rick gave a woman in the audience an "awakening" to stripper music and then dropped his robe in front of me. I was standing off now to the side. I didn't believe what I saw. This was absolutely unscripted. On his clingy nothing-left-to -the-imagination Lycra tights, he had painted my face over his crotch. He stood there, hands behind his head, thrusting and flexing, half naked. It was so gross I didn't know what to do or where to go. I put my hands over my face and ran up the stairs at the rear of the set. Meanwhile, he turned his butt to the camera and, of course, there was Reege's face painted on his, Rick's, quivering, gyrating glutes. Talk about "back end participation!" This got my vote for the worst breach of taste in the history of the show. Then Rick ran up the stairs after me and I came down, skipped over the couches and dashed off the set, amazed that I didn't wipe out and hurt myself.''

Vader recalls saving Sid's life after being stabbed by HOF'er:

Recalling the 1993 scissor fight, between Sid and Arn Anderson...

"It was either just to the left of his belly button or just to the right of his belly button, he had a hole in him and I looked and he was doing the Frankenstein walk and he just said, 'Leon, Leon,' and I said 'Oh sh--' and I looked and it about a nickel sized stream of blood squirted out every time his heart pumped," Vader said. "It came out about four inches before it fell down, it wasn't trickling down his stomach, it was squirting out, and it came out about two to three inches and then it dropped and I thought to myself, 'He's not going to last long, he'll bleed to death.' I said 'Sid, trust me,' and I grabbed a chair and I sat down and said, 'Sid, don't move, you're gonna die' and I slowly eased my thumb into that hole and higher and he said, 'You're hurting me.' and I said, 'You gotta take it' and I got it in there a little bit more and it slowed the bleeding enough and kept him alive until the ambulance came."

Dolph talks career frustrations:

"It's good and its bad. Sometimes it sucks that people have to wait for years of having the best match on the card, getting some of the best reactions and you're not at the top. Sometimes, that doesn't matter. It doesn't matter about talent, it doesn't matter the situation. It matters where the storyline is going."

* Will we see Big Show give Rusev his first decisive defeat in WWE?

Darren Young may return tonight, he is in New York, The Rock is also in town, but that is probably coincidental. Edge and Christian will be on the show.

When pushed by the fan on the chance of a dream match against Sting, he said he has not thought about it.

We're good friends but we're very, very competitive in that's starting to play out a bit in what we do on NXT TV. On quitting WWE...

''Well, it wasn't just one thing. It was a series of events that I was like ah, just screw it. A lot of was A) they had nothing for me. Del Rio and I kept pitching ideas to bring us back together. We thought we did pretty well together and we eventually knew they were going to split us up. One day they came up to us and told us 'Okay this is what we are doing'. We're like oh ok, thank you. It wasn't just that though they had issues with money, I wasn't making money anymore. If you talk to anyone from WWE they will tell you that you make your money on house shows and not on TV, your money is on the house show. . I got unofficially sent down and I got hurt by one of their football players and I got punished for it, which I weird and I took all these things into consideration and I realized this is not fun for me. I have been an extra for WWE and they know what I do backstage. Regal and I were running the tryouts for the extras so there is nobody in the world can I tell me I never had passion for wrestling. I was always the 1st person in the ring. WWE in a weird way made me hate wrestling so I got very bitter and I realized I got to stop this and I realized it was the company. So I woke up and said I am not coming in. Yeah I called the office and told them I am not coming in; I want a release.''

He then revealed he is not the only man to have been given the ''Bumblebee Man'' nickname by Hunter...

''Triple H would call me a bumblebee; I was in Puerto Rico not too long ago and I saw Savio Vega and he used to call him a bumblebee and then I found out he called Super Crazy a bumblebee. He was a referring to an American guy doing flips. He would always make this comment about me being Mexican and Del Rio being Mexican. Foley on a Punk WWE return:

''Is there a future for CM Punk in #WWE? I have always liked Punk and respected the way he marched to the beat of his own drummer. While there is part of me that thinks we have seen the last of Punk in the world of sports -entertainment, I can't help but wonder if that beat he marches to will lead him straight to a huge event at #Wrestlemania. Certainly, his promos alone would make WWE Monday Night Raw must-see TV, and the mere prospect of seeing an angry Punk, with a chip on his shoulder, could create any number of scenarios for memorable Mania match ups. Only Punk knows for sure...and he's not talking.''

JR to Japan:

Jim Ross is interested in working for NJPW...

"I'm very interested in doing special projects and that certainly would be on that list of a special project. And I think if they were serious about their marketing of their pay-per-views — and I guess their big show is January 4th — that if they were really serious about that event being a hit in the English-speaking countries, that I might be able to help them. I think their style is right down my alley. They're physical, they're intense, their wrestling is logical and I am a fan of it. But I wouldn't want to do it in a TV studio somewhere and doing it as a voiceover. If I did it, I'd want to be in Tokyo."
