Today's News

WWE on TV:

John Cena and Shaq will be stars of the next episode of 'Carpool Karaoke'.

GFW champ wants Del Rio banned:

Eli Drake says he is not sure that Alberto Del Rio deserves another chance with GFW...

"I don't know whether we should have him back or not. Now, am I gonna dig too deep into that? Probably not. Everybody knows all the stuff that's gone down, all the controversy, all that stuff. Personally, I think for now we can do without it. But aside from that, who knows what the future holds?"

This is probably kayfabe as a creative leak suggests he will come back in November as a heel P!ssed off that he was banned and stripped for nothing.

Kane talks Taker's future:

Kane refused to say that the Undertaker is retired, but did concede that he is at the point in his career where he has earned the right to choose if and when he competes again...

"He deserves and I think he'll be able to do what he wants and it's going to be up to him. And in the end, I think it'll be, his decision will be the quality of what it is. And certainly, he has been one of those guys that when you watch him at WrestleMania, it's like, 'golly, does the guy ever age?' And I think that will ultimately be how he feels he will be able to perform will be the deciding factor. I'll tell you this: I'd like to have one more match with him. I'd like to do maybe the Brothers Of Destruction one last time, but that's not something that we're going to do. The guy has had an absolutely phenomenal, legendary career, so I think pretty much everything is icing on the cake and not the cake itself at this point."

Hall Of Fame 2018:

WWE are working on easing tensions with Batista, with a view to inducting him as the headliner, into next years Hall Of Fame. (Which means Taker won't be going in, which might mean he is not retired?).

They may have work to do, as Batista recently mocked his early days with the promotion...

"Only in WWE. When I first came up, I did this character called Deacon Batista, so it was the same last name, but I was working with this guy named D-Von Dudley and he was doing this televangelist preacher type deal where he was collecting money and I held this big, goofy box and I was a security guard of his money box. So ridiculous. It was horrible."

GFW TV:

GFW have extended their TV deal with Pop into next year.

Sexy breaks silence:

Sexy Star has spoken of the Rosemary incident for the first time:

"This have been very difficult days for me. Last Saturday, I was in a championship fight; was very hard. I think everything got out of hand. I don't know, I am still confused with the situation. I'd like to remain quiet and when the time is right I will speak on the subject. Men and women want to finish me, make me retire from the sport. I am still here, as I stated in the beginning, I will not stop representing all those women that have been mistreated physically or psychologically. I believe that I have to stronger. If at a moment I went through depression and got out of it, I will also get out of this one. I was doing what I had to do, what the people deserved, to go all in clawing until the end. That's what happened, I submitted her. It appears the girl is injured, I don't know, is not something I am aware off. That's all I can say."

The Shield:

Roman Reigns has dropped a huge hint that the Shield are getting back together, then quickly tried to backtrack...

"Over the next few weeks, we'll be able to see it play out. But the main thing right now is I've been in the title picture for the Raw brand, so I can firmly say neither of those guys would leave that to rejoin The Shield and rekindle that flame."

It is time to focus on the positives of the weekend and look forward to building our relationship with AAA and NOAH to bring an ever improving wrestling product to our fans."

Lacey Evans father killed himself just weeks before the MYC show taped. She has shared why she felt she needed to work the shows anyway...

"It was a rough life growing up between the addiction and depression and the suicide attempts that came later. My family was dealing with a lot of things. I was stuck in the middle of it. All I knew is what I didn't want to become when I became older. I guess I had good role models in a bad way. That made me work extra hard and keep my mind focused. My father overdosed two months before my WWE tryout... My biggest thing, and he didn't make it. He didn't make it to any graduation I've ever had. Not high school. Not college. Not the Marine Corps. Today's News

Mania celeb gets wed:

Ronda Rousey has gotten married.

Rosemary responds:

Rosemary has responded to the ugly incident she was victim of at AAA over the weekend...

"Let me make this perfectly clear: if you take liberties with someone's body when they are giving it to you and trusting you to keep them safe, you are not tough. You are an asshole. And you don't belong in this business. Sexy Star decided to do just that this weekend at TripleMania. And while I have remained quiet on social media until I was more calm to address the situation, I have now being informed that she is telling people that it is a work. You are all now being informed that Sexy Star is a liar. She was a liar in the locker room when she was forced to apologize and instead cooked up some bulls--t excuse that she 'didn't know' and she is a liar now. You know if you are torquing on someone's arm. You know an armbar is a real and dangerous hold. The only reason your face is not broken right now is because a little voice inside my head as I lay on the apron kept repeating, 'Don't go to Mexican prison.' (thanks Demon). However, turning to positives, the outreach from the wrestling community has been incredible. I'm overwhelmed with how much love I feel right now from friends, fans, and people I have yet to meet in this amazing business. We are a family and we protect our own. If you violate that, you are not welcome here. I also want to thank the AAA locker room. Multiple people came up to me saying how sorry and disgusted they were. Thank you Hamada and Shani, who also had to deal with bulls--t from Star during that match. Thank you, Vampiro, for professionally trying to calm a volatile situation, though, as you know, once the excuses started pouring out of Sexy Star's mouth in lieu of an apology, it was over. Thank you to the amazing GFW locker room, both present that night and not. I have so much support from everyone, and talent, crew and office have all reached out to show me that."

Promotions are rushing to distance themselves from Sexy Star, with many withdrawing bookings for the Mexican lady.

Enzo heat:

Enzo is in more heat. He has angered fellow workers for gloating about his celebrity friends and spamming his social media feed with pictures of him with a shopping list of celebs at the Mayweather fight.

X-Pac talks WWE regrets:

''An example of what a dumbass I was. Shane McMahon comes up to me, 'yeah, we're going to have just the Red Hot Chili Peppers do your theme music.' I'm like, 'no, I want Uncle Kracker.' I mean, come on, man, another one, it was Vince and Shane, 'we're thinking of having you work Jericho at 'Mania for the I.C. belt.' I'm like, 'no, I want to finish my program with Kane, which was already way on its last legs, but 'no, I want to do this.' So I mean, do that give you an example?"

Raw tease:

  • Banks faces Bliss in anticipated return bout
  • Can John Cena and Roman Reigns coexist on the same brand?
  • Enzo Amore joins the Cruiserweights

Sid trashes WWE stars:

He does not like KO's weight or the fact he wears a shirt in the ring...

"I see people like Kevin Owens and this Nakamura guy and these other people like this. I see that and I'm going, 'Business has got to be bad. Or they're at a point where they don't care, that's the only thing I know."

HHH reveals why MYC was named after Mae Young:

"So there were a lot of decisions and a lot of names thrown around, and there was a team that went through all that stuff. At the end of the day, we were looking for something that kinda symbolized the transition. And while I think a lot of people would say, like, you know, 'Why didn't you name it The Moolah Classic?', or 'Why didn't you name it after some other female?' To me, Mae was the one person that, when you look at it, Mae Young started at the very beginning of her life. Got into a men's-only business and against all conceivable odds stayed in that business and competed much like Moolah did or all these other people. But Mae was one of the only ones that was able to really transition into the modern day. Mae was able to transition into the entertainment component of the Attitude Era in a way that if you look at the Attitude Era and you look at Mae Young, you can look at Moolah standing next to her. But Moolah was just kinda there in the straight man or straight woman in the equation. Mae was the one that was like, 'I don't care. I'll do it.' You know, she was half the time suggesting stuff that we're like, 'Oh God. Mae, we can't do that.' You know?"

Edge names move thieves:

"I did that one submission, I think I called it The Edgecator, or The Edgecation, or something, which was kind of like, I looked at it like a reverse Sharpshooter/ankle lock where I could be looking at the back of the head. I think Sheamus has used it since. He didn't call and ask me. He didn't text me. I don't care. Again, I think that's kind of a tip of the hat. I think Sandow used every one of my moves! And then, when he saw me, he was like, 'uh, oh yeah, by the way, is that cool?' And I was like, 'well, I mean, you've already done it, so it's a little late, but yes, it's cool.' And I like him, so I was just busting his chops. But yeah, I always look at that stuff as a tip of the old hatski."

Sickening incident:

The wrestling world has reacted with revulsion to a disgusting incident at AAA's show last night. Sexy Star appeared to deliberately break the arm of GFW star Rosemary during their match, after being involved in a shoot incident with another lady wrestler. The scene backstage was said to be toxic and ugly, and Star quickly left the building, but was found and brought back by Vampiro, who made her apologise to the GFW talent. She did so, then left again, as word got back that the other lady was looking for her, to finish the incident that started it. Rosemary's arm was pulled out of place, but she is not expected to miss too much ring time. Talent from all promotions have rounded upon the Mexican, calling her a plague on the business and for her to banned from the sport for life.

Edge to TNA:

Edge says he once considered following Christian to TNA...

"Interesting little tidbit here that I don't even know how much Christian knows, if even at all, to be honest. I don't recall talking to him about it. I don't know how word gets out on contracts being up and things like that, but there was one point where my contract was coming up and TNA reached out to me, and he was there, so they reached out to me, and they told me numbers, and schedule, and all of these things. And for me, at that point, schedule was the thing that I was like, 'well, that'd be a whole lot easier on the body' because I was getting pretty beat up. I started with WWE in '97. At that point it was like 2008 or 2009. I can't even remember. It's a long time. Now, there were breaks because of injuries, but that was my body saying, 'take a break dude,' and I never did until something broke. The idea that Christian was there, and the opponents. If I went there, there's Joe, there's AJ, there's a lot of fresh things to do, but for whatever reason, from day one WWE felt like my home. It felt like the place that I'd always wanted to get to. I did those two TV matches in WCW against Kevin Sullivan and Meng and within five minutes of walking into that locker room I was like, 'I don't want to be here - I could tell this is not the place for me.' And the dream was still WWF and getting there. And then, finally seeing the inner workings and then working into a position where I was one of the main event guys and I was factored in, it just felt like they did put that faith in me, that they did pull the trigger with me for whatever reason they did and I felt like I can't look that gift horse in the mouth. And sure, there was work involved, but 'I got to stick it out here and I got to stay here. I just want my career to be here and nowhere else.' But for Christian, I do believe that was definitely the right thing to do."

Christian dis-agreed, revealing how hard his decision to leave WWE was...

"Don't get me wrong, saying WWE felt like home, and it was home to me as well, and it crushed me to leave. It really did. It was one of the hardest things that I've ever had to do. Saying 'goodbye' on my last night there, tears in your eyes and you're crying because you don't know when you're going to see your friends again. And these are all the people that become your family when you're on the road and spending so much time with them, and, in a sense, you're leaving your family for something that's unknown."

Cass:

Big Cass had knee surgery today.

Angle returning to ring:

Why Cody won't ask for name back:

Cody Rhodes says he believes WWE would give him his Rhodes name back if he asked, but has decided he won't...

"It's a very simple matter of, if I want to ask for my last name, if I want to ask for Cody Rhodes back to perform under it — I perform under it at non-televised events, it's not secret to the fans that's my last name — but when it comes to television, that's WWE's intellectual property. Today's News

SummerSlam protest:

A group of anti Donald Trump protesters have been protesting at the venue of this weekends SummerSlam, demanding that the US president be removed from the company's HOF. They cite his reluctance to condemn extremist and racist groups in the country after a high profile rally led to the death of a woman last week, compared with how they reacted to Hulk Hogan's incident of racism. They assert that any offense Hogan caused was far less dangerous than Trump's defending of the extreme right in America, because Trump's words embolden people to do bad things to people they disagree with. They also say they plan to continue their protest throughout the event, adding that they had front row tickets.

WWE officials were trying to remove the protesters, who were attempting to enlist more bodies for the main day of the weekend, Sunday, and destroy their fliers (Photo). However they were informed that the protest was taking place on public land, and they had no authority to do so.

Flair missed first event:

An interview taken before Ric Flair became ill has been released, during which he said he was set to be Macho Man's opponent in the main event of the first ever SummerSlam, back in 1988...

"It's true. I was on my way to work for Vince and wrestle Savage at the Garden. My contract was up and Vince McMahon had been in touch with me. But I decided my best move was to remain in the NWA because I was so attached to my friends in the Four Horsemen. I thanked McMahon for the offer. I just couldn't get myself to leave. I was too attached to my friends down there and too loyal to the NWA. Ultimately, it worked out, and I ended up working for Vince later. I respected Vince so much for asking me, but at that point, I just could not find a way to leave."

Brother Love talks WWE fearing for Show's life:

Brother Love says WWE were not happy with Big Show when he first joined them, because he was lazy and felt all he had to do was be big to be over. He claims Vince was so worried for his life that he relegated him to their developmental group OVW...

"Vince was very concerned that if Show didn't take care of himself, he would die at a young age. He didn't want that to happen. He really wanted this guy to have a career and for him to be healthy because he already has one strike against him. He wasn't doing it and Vince felt like the only way Show would take it seriously is if we sent him back down to OVW. There wasn't any final straw. It was a combination of things and it was the effort over a few weeks with Big Show where we saw he came back not in shape, his cardio was horrible. You would get the lip-service, 'I'm eating healthy. I'm eating chicken breasts and dry pasta and salad and vegetables. I quit smoking.' And then, he'd be out by the truck having a smoke with Krispy Kreme donuts. Vince had just had it and it wasn't one match or one night or anything like that. It was a culmination of Show not being able to perform at the level we were looking for him to perform at."

Holly talks real feuds:

Bob Holly says he recently fronted up to Rene Dupree, after the younger man threatened to kick his a-doub next time they met, and that Dupree walked away without doing so, even though he gave him the chance to take the first shot.

He also addressed Matt Cappotelli...

"The thing is I was just going out there and I was just doing what I normally do all the time. In Matt's defense he didn't know me and how I wrestled and I did not mean to kick him and hit him like I did because it was my boot is what got him. If you watch the film he was just flailing in the corner and it was boot that caught him. Accidents happen in wrestling and I had no intentions of going in and doing that to him whatsoever despite what people at home that sit there and think that I did it on purpose that watch. Me and Matt are cool and I hate what he is going through right now and it is a terrible thing he has to deal with because he is such a nice guy and a good person and I just hate what he is going through."

Strike over:

Tyrus is no longer on strike from GFW. He has been released by the company.

White House wrestling room:

A picture of a White House official watching NJPW on TV in the White House media briefing room is going viral online.

Tonight is the biggest night of the NXT year, Brooklyn 3. The special will be live on the Network. The roster have had a tough day though, they were stuck in the Orlando airport for 13 hours waiting for their flight to NYC due to weather issues. Some arrived as late as 4 o'clock this morning.

HBUK:

Shawn Michaels has announced a speaking tour of the UK for early next year.

WWE ad:

Alexa Bliss and Fandango have taped an ad for Domino's Pizza.

Ric Flair:

Ric Flair has had an external pacemaker fitted, which has helped his heart beat normally, but he is still very sick with an infection, and is in a ''Bad situation''.

D-Bry retired too soon:

Daniel Bryan has shared the contents of a conversation he had with a doctor after he retired on WWE TV, and how he came to understand he did it too soon...

"All of a sudden, one of the doctors that had cleared me calls me and said, 'Bryan, what happened? Like, you ran through all this testing and everything was fine. What happened?' And I told him what had happened. I said, 'they found a lesion on the temporal parietal region of my brain.' And he goes, 'wait, hold up - a lesion?' And I said, 'yeah,' and I don't know what a 'lesion' means to you guys, but a lesion to me means you have a cut, right? Like I have a cut on my brain. And he goes, 'no, a lesion in medical terminology is a very vague thing. It just says something is there, right? Like, we don't know what it is, so we call it a lesion in the temporal parietal region of your brain. My reflexes in the temporal parietal region of my brain are slower than what they would expect, right? So in the report, they put 'lesion on the temporal parietal region of the brain, they're not slower than say your average person, but they're slower than, like, your MMA athletes or people that they test for a lot of this kind of stuff, right? So I just have average reflect time and I'm just like, 'oh no, I don't think they understand I'm just an average person. I'm not a real athlete! There's this thing and it's just like, 'oh no, there has been this huge misunderstanding,' right?"

Cruiser mess:

The Cruiserweight title match on Raw was added on the day, but WWE decided they did not want to go the route they went after, and re-added the match to SummerSlam for a re-do. (Dave Meltzer story).

WWE women:

Becky Lynch says WWE could one day have an all female branded show.

"I don't see why we cannot have an all-woman show with multiple storylines to keep the audience engaged. We have a lot of strong performers in the roster and if handled well, an all-woman show like the Mae Young Classic can be brilliant for the division."
