Was Paul and Vince backstage, and Vince saying, ‘gee Paul, maybe ECW’s not dead after all.’ As you know, they didn’t end it that way. But that was my first hint that maybe there would be something else, moving on. It took a year later for them to do it. But there was like a hint of maybe promise of something. Or maybe they were just going to bring some ECW guys in and they wanted to acknowledge it on some level. But that was in the script.”

I think the Hardys, I really think they want to finish it the way they started it, together. There’s nothing wrong with that. I give them all the props in the world for wanting to do it like that. I wish me and my brother could have finished it like that. Honestly, the way I started it. And I wanted to finish it the way I started it, and that was with my brother. Why Japanese ladies are struggling in AEW:

Hikaru Shida wrote in her column this week...

“My feeling is that the hurdle for Japanese women’s pro wrestlers to come to AEW has become much higher. The major cause is the Corona disaster which is not easy to finish. And it’s because the AEW Women’s Division has grown so much in the past year. “AEW is an organization that is constantly changing, and the players come and go very rapidly. TV and YouTube. If you’ve been following AEW on FITE TV or YouTube, you’ll know that the women’s division in particular has seen an increase in the number of young, cute, and dynamic players over the past year. At the time of the launch, the women’s division of AEW relied heavily on Japanese female pro wrestlers, and that was one of the selling points of the division. But that was only for a while after the launch. Nowadays, being a Japanese female pro wrestler is not as much of an advantage as it used to be.”

WWE / TNA:

Mickie James says she believes WWE and TNA will continue to work together...

Fear of Flying:

Freddie Prinze Jr. has recalled a fright on a flight which left him with a fear of flying, cured, he says, by Vince McMahon...

“So, we’re coming in, and it is, turbulent is not the word. The winds are crazy. This plane is, we felt like the Gilligan’s Island ship. That was us. So we’re literally swerving back and forth, like the Viking ship at the State Fair, and you can’t see anything out of the window. Sarah’s hand is on my hand, and it’s gripped tight, like nails through the skin. My left hand, I’m in the window seat on the left side, is gripped to the armrest my nails into its poor skin. And I’m looking out of the window, and all of a sudden I see the ground, except not beneath me, I am looking directly at the ground. The plane is about to land sideways on the left wing, and my face is about to go through the tarmac. And at the last second, and I’m not exaggerating, I’ve never even told this story. At the last second, the plane corrects itself, the pilot is a G, corrects itself and we came in hot and we’re sliding and slipping and the plane lands, no damage, no anything, outside of the six and a half years it took off my life from the scarring of my heart. So we have to get off the plane. Everybody is freaked out, and we have to get right back on the plane, takeoff through this weather, and get back to L.A. So I’m freaking out, you know, I trust the pilot now more than any human, more than my wife. But still, like, we almost died. They say, you’re flying on the jet, and I’m sweating when they tell me. Vince wants you on the jet. I was like, ‘oh man, alright.’ My armpits are sweating right now and I ain’t even afraid of flying anymore thanks to Vince, actually, he just made me do it until I wasn’t scared of it anymore. So I get on the jet and the first thing that Vince says to me when he gets on, he says, ‘I heard you had a bit of a problem on the last plane ‘Yeah man, I’m not big on planes.’ And this is who I tell this story to and he goes, ‘ah don’t worry, I got a better pilot than Kevin Costner anyway.”

“Nick Khan came up to me at the show and apologized. I don’t even know that he was a part of, like, I think he was a part of the company. But I hadn’t met him or knew who he was at that time because it was early transitional days. But even he apologized to me at TV, ‘this should’ve never happened.’ I agree it should’ve never happened. “I mean, AEW is doing exciting stuff and it has new life in the industry. Any time there’s competition, it’s good, it revives the industry, whatever that is. So, when they reached out to me, I did consider it. I was like, ‘well we can talk, I am interested, you guys are doing some interesting stuff.’ But, ultimately, upon talking to them, it just made me go, ‘but I have all these things already, with my home that I have known for 20 years, with the people that I have worked with for 20 years.’ Basically, I gave them my blessing. I said, ‘I will watch you, and support you, and I want you guys to do great. But this just doesn’t feel like the right fit for me right now.’”

She also shared her changed view of performing in Saudi Arabia...

“I was outspoken on the early relationship on WWE and Saudi. Oh, they say they want women to wrestle over there, there’s no women on the card. There are now.  And I’ve talked to the women personally that have been over there. And they’re like, ‘It’s unbelievable. There are women crying, never thinking they would get to see two women be so strong in the ring’. They’re like, ‘It’s really powerful. You’re going to enjoy that.’ And so, sure, do they have a long way to go? Do we as a society have a long way to go? Absolutely. But, you got to take the opportunities when they’re there.”

Flair vs Lynch:

Ric Flair and Becky Lynch are in a war of words, Ric Flair's latest shot...

“Once again, she’s not Ronny, she’s Ronda Rousey, okay. Anybody stupid enough to call her Ronny and make a joke of her presence and what she brings to the company is out of their mind. As an example, what is her name now? Big Time Becks? ‘Hey Ronny, welcome back.’ Wow, that’s exciting. Hey, how about: thank you Ronda for showing up because I’m not The Man anymore, I’m generic… who am I? Big Time Becks? The Lasskicker? Who am I?”

“Work so hard your heroes become your rivals. Then, become so good, Ric Flair loses his mind every time you breathe”

“Not that there’s any comparison, but I think I’m kind of taking on like The Undertaker role in the WWE for his last few years there. Where every time he does something, it’s impactful; it means something. He’s a benefit to have in the locker room. He’s a leader. He’s very experienced. He can tell guys and girls what they’re doing right and what they’re doing wrong. And it’s just a good person to have around your roster.”

Christopher Daniels talks lingering injury:

“When I talked to the doctor about it and he said that this, it can happen on occasion, that hemorrhages sort of doesn’t drain or heal. And you know, it doesn’t have anything to do with the iris itself. “It’s just the white of the eye that’s sort of discolored. So yeah, I mean, it’s could be like this, it could dry up in like a week or it could be like this for a while, I have no idea. This is the first time it’s ever stuck with me. I’ve had this injury before. Not this eye, but I mean, I’ve had hemorrhages before. Black eyes and things like that. But for some reason, this thing is just sticking.”

Big signing:

Keith Lee made his AEW debut last night, after leaving WWE as part of the severe. roster cuts  last year

Why I quit:

Kyle O'Reilly has revealed why he jumped ship from NXT to AEW...

“When NXT got its TV deal, there was something Hunter said that I loved when he compared NXT to the main roster. He said ‘NXT was like the broadway show. It’s where the real performers get out there. They’ve got the chops, they can act, they can sing, they can dance, they can do it all and there are no special effects. There’s no big-budget blockbuster movie special effects that are hiding it all like RAW and Smackdown would be.’ I just thought that was such a great analogy, and it really rang true. When we were renegotiating, the powers that be were like ‘listen, this doesn’t typically happen. Usually we re-sign guys six months out,'. But talent relations at the time, I guess let things slip or weren’t into re-upping NXT guys contracts is the only explanation I can give. I really don’t know. But I thought I had at least six months to a year left. It was a real surprise to me knowing it was coming up in December, (but) a pleasant surprise, just with the landscape and everything. It was really kind of a blessing that I was given the opportunity to make my own decision. I could stay, I could go; it wasn’t made up for me. I feel for people who get released and everything, and that’s happened way more than it should. It’s awful. I was just grateful that I was in a position where I could kind of look at the landscape and see what opportunities were out there. And luckily for me, AEW was the place and I were able to jump ship as it were. We don’t want pro rasslers’ was something I heard. And it was like ‘alright but I am a pro wrestler. And I want to be a pro wrestler still. So I want to go where I can be a pro wrestler.’ And I know that the things are the same, sports entertainment, wrestling, it’s all the same. But I don’t know if everyone looks at it that way.”

Actor reveals shitty moment during WWE career:

Freddie Prinze Jr. has recalled an incident during his WWE career, where someone took a crap on Vince McMahon's plane, leading to a backstage investigation...

''Freebird calls me into his office, Michael Hayes. He says, ‘Freddie, I gotta ask you a question,’ and he looks concerned. I go ‘what’s up man?’ And he goes, ‘You didn’t, er, you didn’t take a poop on Vince’s plane did you?’ I said, ‘what are you talking about?’ He says, ‘there’s no poops on the plane.’ I said ‘of course, I didn’t, what are you talking about man, I didn’t even use the restroom.’ He goes, ‘well someone did, and I have to find out who.’ He’s not laughing when he says it, he’s p*ssed off. What kind of a job assignment is that? I’ve gotta find out who took a s**t on my boss’s plane. The freakin best agent in the company who comes up with the greatest finishes, at least when I was there, the fans favorite finishes were either Freedbird’s or Triple H’s, and usually it was a combination of both and it wasn’t anyone else’s, and he’s having to find out who took a poop on the plane.”

Suicidal Strowman:

Braun Strowman says his WWE release left him in a dark place, and he considered taking his life. He also discussed what turned him around...

“Because I see through social media interactions the power that I have to influence people’s lives. The videos of children riding to the hospital to have surgeries done, listening to my theme music. Pictures showing the kids holding my action figure being put under for anesthesia. The kids at the Special Olympics playing my music to come out and lift weights to. Things like that. Knowing that me giving up on myself, I am giving up on all those people that depend on me to help them get through the hardships in life, and that’s just selfish. I am just so thankful that I never did. I got really close at once, not even just quitting wrestling, quitting life altogether. And I realized that the world is so important, and the world wants everybody here. The world’s going to keep turning and it wants you here because this place is amazing. I am so thankful with everything that I was able to overcome and where I am now, and that I have peace in myself.”

AEW missing factor:

Booker T says the lack of females and children in their fan base is holding them back from making the next big step up...

''They’ve got a long way to go, alright. AEW definitely has got something, they’ve got a good feel. The fans definitely seem like they’re off into it. But when you look in the audience, you don’t see any kids at all, okay, that’s one thing you don’t see. And you don’t see a whole lot of women. Just look at the audience. So, they’ve got a lot of building that they’re going to have to do in order to stretch that audience out in order to cater to everybody, not just the ones who want to watch a thumbtack match or something like that. They’re definitely going to have to widen their appeal to not just that, I wouldn’t call it hardcore audience, but you know, somewhat.”

Hardy on WWE / NJPW:

Matt Hardy says WWE had opened talks for a partnership with NJPW, at Daniel Bryan's request, when they were fighting to keep him in their employ, but they made it hard to get a deal done...

“They were willing to actually work with New Japan for a little bit for Bryan Danielson when they were trying to re-sign him. That was one of his conditions, he wanted to be able to go to work with New Japan and whatnot. You know the whole scenario. I don’t know. They’re open to doing it. The thing is with those guys, I think it’s pretty much their way or no way. So sometimes it’s tricky working with WWE.”

WWE release:

NXT UK's Candy Floss blames a mental health crisis following the death of her mother, of cancer, in 2019, for her release from NXT in December...

''Unfortunately, my dream career with WWE got put on hold when, during the pandemic, I was diagnosed with severe PTSD and anxiety because of the trauma I experienced witnessing my favorite person, my mum, fight for her life. I decided I needed to put my mental health first and WWE couldn’t have been more supportive. In December 2021 my contract with WWE expired. It is very sad for me as I wish my journey with WWE didn’t have to end like this as I’ve worked so hard to get signed. I just want to say thank you to WWE for dealing with me so well as I know it’s not an easy situation. I’m grateful for it all.''

He also Claimed that WWE offered him HOF for 2022 after releasing him earlier this year. He says Jeff refused, because they did not want to induct Matt along with him...

''They did realize they jumped the gun a little bit whenever they released him before they got these drug test results back. And it’s strange because they waited weeks, and they really had to go after these drug test results to get them back. Because I guess they knew it wasn’t going to paint them in the best light. But longest story short, they offered him to be inducted into the 2022 Hall of Fame. Jeff asked ‘so you want to induct me into the Hall of Fame?' And he said ‘well let me ask you, I know you guys have spoken with AEW. Is this going to be the Hardy Boyz? Is this myself and my brother Matt?’ And they go ‘oh, no no, no, no. We can’t get Matt. He’s under contract at AEW. You know, it would just be you.’ And Jeff said ‘well, that’s a hard no.’ He definitely stood up for the team of the Hardy Boyz.”

Haas responds to hoax report:

He recently worked a match for Impact, and suffered a concussion, reports emerged after the bout that he had been killed, reports seen by his mother, ex wife Jacqueline Gayda, his children and best friend Shelton Benjamin, who were all, naturally, worried and upset...

“Someone reported that I died, so that helped the Charlie Haas is not dead t-shirt sales. That was unfortunate because the story about that it was like, ‘Charlie Haas fatally killed,’ and, my mom saw that, my ex-wife saw that, my kids saw it, people like Shelton. They were trying to get a hold of me, I didn’t die. It was unfortunate, but I am good, I am here. It is weird. I felt bad, it was harder on my family when they read that and they couldn’t get a hold of me. Especially after my brother dying, that’s something, my mom doesn’t want another son dead. It was unfortunate, but I am here, man, which is good.”

AEW vs The World:

Chris Jericho has been asked what AEW need to do to surpass WWE as the top promotion in wrestling. He believes they already are...

“Well, in my opinion, what is the top wrestling promotion? To me, I think we already are, as far as in-ring product and entertaining shows, storylines, characters, et cetera. If you’re looking at like will AEW overtake WWE as the wrestling brand in North America? I don’t know. But that’s not something that we ever really think about or worry about. All we’re worried about is continuing to grow our fan base, which we are, grow and continue to improve and create amazing stories, which we do. We really are killing it in the demos, which equals higher television contracts when this current one expires in a few years. So ask me in a couple years, if we’re going to be the most dominant promotion. I know we’ll be making a hell of a lot more money than we are right now, which will enable us to continue to put on the best wrestling product in the world today, which is what we’re already doing.”

Shaggy news:

Hello, so yes... I am back... hopefully to stay. (Play nice Facebook / Clickbait trolls!) I am going to need you to be patient with me for a while, as I get up to speed with who has gone where in the time I was gone, name changes, new talent, etc. Apologies for any slips that get through as I catch up. I hope you all enjoy the return of the page, and that the quality is acceptable, if not as good as it once was. I will try my best for you, to get it back where it was ASAP...

Thanks for sticking with it, even while the page was at rest. It really is a community page. I was often asked why the page was not bigger than it was, I honestly never cared. It was more than enough to see the same names liking, commenting and interacting each day, not only with the post, but with each other. I was proud to be a part of the conversation. Let's hope we are allowed to get back to where we were without negativity blackening it as it did two and a half years ago.

Enjoy reading...
