WWE have taped the third annual Dusty Rhodes tribute tournament. The winners were crowned last night, and will get an NXT tag title shot in the future.
Ciampa written out:
WWE had Johnny Gargano monster his former tag partner on NXT TV last night, to write him out of the stories for his recovery from injury. Johnny will wrestle Adam Cole for the vacant NXT gold in New York.
Injury:
Former Impact Women's champ Laurel Van Ness made her NXT debut at Full Sail last night, it didn't go well. She broke her wrist during her match, but impressed officials by continuing through the pain to finish her bout.
WrestleMania:
Randy Orton vs AJ Styles is official for Mania next month.
Y2Jay & Silent Bob:
Chris Jericho has joined his friend Kevin 'Silent Bob' Smith on the set of the reboot of the cult movie 'Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back'. Smith says they are on a deeply worrying time frame, having just 8 days to complete the filming, and a third of the script yet to tape, but was excited to get Y2J involved in the project.
HOF'er refusing to stop:
Jerry Lawler needs double knee replacement surgery, but is refusing to stop wrestling for the op.
WWE stars going off the road:
Aleister Black and Zelina Vega are finally getting the chance to celebrate their wedding with a honeymoon. They have traveled to Amsterdam.
Actor takes back criticism:
Stephen Amell has asked Batista not to kill him after his negative tweet regarding Mania yesterday. He said the tweet was meant as a self deprecating joke at his own WWE career, and was not meant as a dig at him...
"Hey Dave -- I went out of my way to introduce myself to you in Atlanta at a convention so I could tell you what a big fan of yours I am. You couldn't have been more pleasant. My tweet was meant to poke fun at me. It clearly wasn't funny. Please don't kill me."
