Today's News

Jay Lethal talks heat from his parents:

"That automatically reminds me about coming home with bumps and bruises and my mom not being too happy. But I think the only time they've never been happy with something they saw me do on TV was in TNA. The X Division was trying to be destroyed by the Dudley Boys along with Johnny Devine while I was trying to save it with Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. We had to do this angle where we got beat up by the Dudleys and we ended up having to bleed. My parents saw that and they were like "no way, never again, what is going on here?" But they quickly got over that. I wouldn't call it luck, but there would be certain times where I would bleed accidentally and they weren't freaking out like they were that very first time. So they got used to it. But that was the very first time that they saw something that they didn't like."

Shibata:

Friends of Katsuyori Shibata say he is starting to get desperate as treatment for his recent brain injury is not improving his health. He has now had three surgeries on his eyes alone, but has still not been able to gain control of his spacial awareness and blurred vision.

Smith Jr pops for Flair:

Davey Smith Jr says Ric Flair's fitness astounded him before his last WWE match...

"He and I, we did 500 Hindu squats together right before his - I think it was a week before his match with Shawn Michaels - his retirement match. And him at his age to do 500 Hindu squats is really impressive. We did it in Hawaii and then he flew straight from there to do some appearances and then WrestleMania week. So it was a good way to bond with him. And he's been nothing but great with me."

Death:

Mr. Pogo has died. The 45 year Japanese veteran was having surgery on a back issue when he died of a cerebral infarction, caused by his blood pressure crashing. He had been ill for a number of weeks earlier this year with gastric ulcers. He was 66.

Universal title plans changing:

WWE are starting to listen to their fans... no, really. They are worried about Brock Lesnar's lack of appearances as champion hurting their viewing figures for Raw. The long term angles were to see him defend against Braun Strowman at SummerSlam, retain and go onto feuds vs Seth Rollins and Finn Balor for Survivor Series and Royal Rumble, retaining again both times, before dropping the gold to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania next year. Speculation is they may now have him drop the gold during one of these planned feuds, possibly as early as SummerSlam in August.

ROH to WWE:

Bobby Fish has been spotted at tonight's NXT taping. Some of the Mae Young women are at the show to debut too.

Ranallo's return:

Mauro Ranallo will be back at work with WWE tonight, for the first time since his battle with mental health, he says, caused by backstage bullying at the hands of JBL.

Presidential reunion:

Bobby Lashley has asked president Donald Trump to be in his corner at Slammiversary next weekend.

Rusev:

Rusev is scheduled to return to the road this weekend.
