Today's News

Rock mocked:

British satirical show 'The Last Leg' mocked a picture of The Rock at the Oscars, during a botched moment where the wrong winner was announced, and his reaction to it on social media, last night.

TNA rebuffed:

TNA did not swerve us regarding Alberto Del Rio. They were in a mess backstage and threw as much money as they could at him to come in at the last minute. Drew Galloway was originally set to win their World title at their last taping, but he walked away from his deal earlier in the week. This led to TNA approaching a former WWE star, who rejected their approach. They then entered into talks with Bubba Ray Dudley, and things got very close to being agreed, but fell through in mid week. As a final, desperate move, they went back to Alberto Del Rio, just days after talks had collapsed between the two sides, and got him to work the shows, close to the day they were taped.

Injury:

NJPW star Tomoaki Honma was knocked out during his match this weekend and was taken from the ring and rushed to a nearby hospital. He had taken a DDT from the ropes, a move you may recognise from Randy Orton's repertoire.

Hardy's talking:

The Hardy Boyz have reportedly entered into talks with WWE.

HBK talks WWE future:

"I love the Revival, Roderick Strong, Tye Dillinger. I love Elias Samson – I can't help it, I like the Drifter thing, it stands out to me. I see something in a young guy like Patrick Clark. I think Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano are super-talented from a style standpoint."

Cody Rhodes pops for Angle:

"Sometimes, when you work with the younger stars, and this isn't a knock on anybody, it feels like you're dancing. When you get into a match with Kurt Angle, and it doesn't matter how old he is because he's just as good as he ever was, and perhaps even better on some nights. Kurt is a wrestler's wrestler. He hits hard, he ties you up tight in ways that are uncomfortable and in ways that, if he wanted to, it could be over right then and there."

Samoa Joe talks adjusting to WWE:

"The biggest thing right off the bat is the schedule of the average WWE wrestler is very intensive. It's a full-time commitment. You're shot around the world at any given point in time, all throughout the year. You spend a lot of time on the road, so if you're not really prepared for that kind of lifestyle, if you're not accustomed to it and you don't know how to navigate around not just the United States, but the planet in an efficient and sane manner, it can get kind of overwhelming. And definitely, in WWE, it's the heaviest schedule in the industry, period. I don't care where you go or what company you work for - and I've pretty much worked for them all - WWE by far is the most brutal road schedule in the world. It takes a special kind of individual to navigate that and be able to thrive in that environment. It's a challenge that I've enjoyed."

TNA signing:

TNA have re-signed Matt Morgan and WWE Alum Chris Masters.

Undertaker:

Undertaker will start his WrestleMania angles next week.

Show blasts Shaq:

"He's got to be what, 440, 450 pounds? He's gotten pretty fat. Me on the other hand? I just weighed in this morning -- 379 pounds. Maybe he doesn't want to put on spandex and show the entire world that Shaquille O'Neal, one of the greatest basketball players of all time, looks like Jabba the Hutt. It's on him. He has to weigh these consequences in his own mind. Does he want the world to know how fat and out of shape he is? Or does he want to sit back and talk s-it into a podcast?"

WWE star takes week off:

Dana Brooke is once again taking part in the Arnold Classic next week.

Former NXT star signs:

Hugo Knox has come home and returned to football. He has signed for non league side Altrincham. He gave up his career in 2013 to move to the States to become a WWE wrestler, but was released last summer.
