Shane-O-Mania:

The match was on the long list early this year for Mania, but after Shane took a walk was dropped, it seems there is a chance it is back on, although it is still widely predicted to be Cody Rhodes that walks the aisle to meet Mr. Freakin' Rollins.

Undertaker:

Undertaker has named Kane as his greatest rival...

''“But I am going to say probably the battles with Kane, I think. It was just, I think a storyline that people, whether you were a wrestling fan or you weren’t, you understood just because of sibling rivalries. And I think people identified with that,” he said. “And Kane was always such a physically dominant athlete, that he always brought the best out of me. So I am going to go with the Brothers Of Destruction.”

Sasha Banks talks quitting WWE:

Sasha Banks has discussed the mental health battle that led to her offering her resignation to WWE...

“I felt so sad every day and I didn’t know why. I had to take myself away from a situation and such a fast world where I had to stop and realize who Mercedes was and who Sasha Banks was. I had no time off. I never got to see myself, my family. I took that time to figure out what I loved besides wrestling.”

AEW reek of desperation:

Seth Rollins says AEW's constant references to WWE shows why they are not on WWE's level...

“They can do whatever they want, I find it very tacky and very low-brow, personally. I think it looks and reeks of desperation and I just don’t think it’s anything on our television show that we need to go there and talk down about those guys. They’re doing their thing, they’re doing it very well, we’re very happy for them, I am, at least, personally. Are they on our level? No, they’ve got a long way to go to catch up to us and that’s fine and they know that. They do things differently but for me, my perspective, it’s just a little step down for us to kind of use it as an insult. That’s my perspective on it but people may not share that opinion.”

KO follows Sami in sharing reason to stay with WWE:

“A big part of it, honestly, was that Vince McMahon made it pretty clear to me that he wanted me to stay. And, you know, I’ve been in WWE for seven years at this point. You know, I have a lot of friends everywhere else in wrestling, but there is a whole side of WWE that people don’t get to see, whether it’s the production crew, you know, the camera people, the stage manager, the creative team, all these people. They’re all very special people and you know, they’re a part of my family. My extended family now. My professional family, if you want to call it that. So that, those were all factors that, that, that led to me, you know, staying put, because Vince made it clear he wanted me to stay. It feels like my home and all those other people there that, you know, if I wasn’t there, I wouldn’t get to see anymore and that was just like, you know, it just seemed like the right move. That’s really all there is to it.”

Daniels fires Stunt:

Christopher Daniels has informed Marko Stunt that AEW has no interest in renewing his contract, which ends in May.

John Cena talks WWE:

“I miss it every day. Every single day, But I’ll be 45 on April 23rd, and I was very fortunate to make it as long as I did with only a minor list of injuries. Nothing that has changed the trajectory of my long term health. I’m strong, flexible, and in really good shape externally, internally. I think now, being a full-time touring performer might start to hit that point of diminishing returns, and I have to be realistic when I look at that.”

So, he is saying he is going to be doing what he hated The Rock for doing, during their feud and legit heat, being a movie star that comes back when he has something to promote.

''On my birthday I was able to film & celebrate being alive & healthy another year with actors that I have looked up to for years! I am so beyond grateful, I can’t believe how far life has come in a year & how brain washed I was from the toxic environment that I had worked in for 8 years. I allowed it to define my identity & self worth. Change can be hard friends but let me tell you, if you keep pushing forward no matter what, if you refuse to have one human’s opinion define your destiny, if you refuse to be put in a box by a corporation or society & you keep the blinders on and walk by faith then your life will become more then your wildest dreams.''

Gargano talks leaving WWE:

“I felt really good, I felt just complete and like I said I felt that way for a long time. Being able to end that story on my own terms and have that match and promo segment to where I was able to say goodbye which a lot of people don’t get to do nowadays and I was very lucky to be given that chance. It’s so funny because so many people thought that I re-signed obviously because no one gets that treatment to where they’re able to do their match and then come out the next night on live television which is wild. It’s live television, I could’ve literally said anything I wanted and they kind of let me say anything I want. I sat down with one of the writers but all the words that came out were my own, I wrote my own thing, I wanted to thank people and I wanted to do things like that. Like I said I think I just have such a good relationship and good rapport with everyone in NXT and everyone in WWE in general that the saddest thing, and you can see the footage, I was crying. I was crying for a particular reason when I walked out it’s because I gave two presents, one to Matt Bloom and I gave a present to Shawn Michaels. I told Shawn the caveat was he needed to open his present in front of me right before I went through the curtain. Shawn's an emotional guy, we have a great relationship. I gave him this present and he opens it and he started crying and in turn that made me start crying. So when you watch the show I’m crying already because we had that moment right before I went through the curtain.”

Lita on why she rebuffed AEW:

''Their roster had a long way to grow and they’re still kind of getting their feet under them about how they want to present as a company, and then around that same time, WWE is talking to them. And just knowing how deep their roster already is, it just seemed like more possibilities and a better fit. Not to mention, like, it is home for me, right? I’ve been there since I was a kid. So, it was like, I wasn’t thinking about either company when I was, you know, when I was first approached and then Cody had reached out and I was like, ‘oh well, let me watch the program more from an aspect of maybe being there and seeing how I could fit in besides like catching it when I catch it’.

KO worried about recent spot:

Kevin Owens was concerned about his dress up as Stone Cold but on TV this week, but says it seems it worked out pretty well...

“A couple of people have done it and done it pretty well, but I had, you know, it felt like I was stepping out of my comfort zone a little, but I figured that was the most impactful thing I could do going into this match or this confrontation, or whatever you want to call it and it ended up being a lot of fun. I think I pissed a lot of people off, which is delightful.”

“Like there was a point where, you know, TNA had reached out to me and they wanted — it happened to be around the time when there was a new women’s championship was being introduced. It was around that time and it was a storyline pitch like that because it was like, ‘Hey, women are a viable part of the show and we would like you to be a part of it.’

Why I stayed:

“I was already in a very good place with WWE. They made it very clear that, and not just when it was time to negotiate but in the last year and a half, I’ve definitely got the impression and they’ve said as much that I’m a valued part of the roster. And I feel valued. I get a lot of television time. I’ve been very happy. I’m stimulated creatively even, which I know is a difficult thing to get in WWE at times. With so many moving parts and so many talented people, sometimes inevitably you kind of get left behind. I haven’t felt that way in a very long time with WWE. That was really the main factor in driving my decision to stay. I felt valued, I felt appreciated, and it was reflected as such in the amount of television time I got. For me, it was a bit of a no-brainer to stay right now. I’m happy here and I’m happy to keep doing my thing.”

HHH back at work:

Triple H is back at work for WWE. He says his new focus is on making the future of WWE the best it can be, although admits he still has health challenges...

“My foot’s not off the gas. I suppose in some manner I’ve got to step back a little bit. I’m still in recovery and my endurance is not exactly quite what it used to be before, but right now, I’m back. I’m at the office. I am fully focused on recruiting and development of our talent in the future and, whether that’s building more performance centers, whether that’s finding the next young stud that’s out there, male or female, like Gable Steveson, who recently became a two-time NCAA Champion.''

Tony Khan talks mixed feelings about ROH PPV:

He admitted concerns over going up against Mania weekend, but wanted to honour the card and the fans...

“It’s just not been something I thought would make sense for AEW to do. But it was already scheduled for Ring of Honor and there were tickets sold. They already made agreements with the Pay-Per-View providers and these were some of the same Pay-Per-View providers we work with, like Fite for our international distribution and the cable and satellite carriers. So I didn’t want to screw over those people, especially not the fans. So I decided we would go ahead and do the show and I would make it a great event. A great Pay-Per-View. I really believe it’s going to be a great event.”

“That’s what gets people invested. It would be like watching a movie and it’s just action the whole time, you’re not really going to relate to anybody. That little piece of funny advice he gave me at the time went a long way. But I really tried to figure it out because I was like, Shawn Michaels isn’t just going to say this to me.”

Retirements:

Triple H has confirmed he will never wrestle again during an emotional interview with ESPN today. After sharing the seriousness of his health issue, for the first time since his life was saved...

“I had viral pneumonia. My lungs were inflamed. and as the next couple of days went on and I got home it got increasingly worse and my wife saw some blood and stuff that I was coughing up. I went and got checked and I – it was coming from the viral pneumonia but I had fluid in my lungs. I had some fluid around my heart. So they followed up on it. Did an EKG and echo and everything and basically the way your heart pumps out 55-65% of your ejection fraction is a good number. I was at 30. and I got a quick text message saying, ‘Don’t take time. Pack a bag real quick, head to the emergency room. I’ll fill you in on the way. So by the time I got to the emergency room, my ejection fraction had gone down to 22. Which, I was in heart failure. Bad. By the next morning – as they figured that out that evening – by the next morning as they got the MRI done and they were sending me in for a heart cath my ejection fraction was down to 12. So I was nosediving and sort of at the one-yard line of where you want to be – or where you don’t want to be, really, for your family and your future. They tell you it’s 99%. (Chance of dying) It gets real. We have 3 young girls – 15, 13, 11. You know, suddenly I come home. I’m a little bit sick and their dad who’s strong always suddenly is in the hospital and I don’t know if they understood the consequences of it but there’s moments in there where – when they’re putting you out for stuff and you think, ‘Is this it?’ Do you – Do you wake up from this? That’s tough to swallow and makes you think.”

...He told the sports channel that he could never risk stepping between the ropes again...

“I won’t – I would never wrestle again. First, I have a defibrillator in my chest. Which, it’s probably not a good idea for me to get zapped on live TV.”

The interview will air in full later in the week.

Kofi recalls scariest night:

Kofi Kingston says seeing his friend Big E, injured was the worst moment of his career...

“It was easily the scariest night of my career, you know?. Obviously, the injury didn’t happen to me, but I was on the inside of the ring and I see – go for that, that spear that he does. Yeah, and he missed it and he was on the outside there and then him and Ridge go for that overhead suplex and I see them go up and it looked a little like, wonky, but I never saw the impact. So I didn’t really, I didn’t know, you know? I went over there and I was like, ‘oh okay, everything looks like. You know, he’s done and everything.’ And then the match goes on and after everything went down, Jess, the ref, was like, ‘yeah, I don’t know if E’s okay.’ And I was like, ‘what? Like what’s going on?’ And all of a sudden the paramedics and everything started coming out and yeah. It was just, really, really scary because it’s a reminder of how quick things can take a turn for the worst, you know? Everything that we do, every move that we execute, there’s always an element of danger to it and luckily, for the most part, we come out unscathed. But in those moments, literally looking at my brother in the face as the people are putting, the paramedics are putting the neck braces and everything on. They’re putting them on the stretcher. You know, it was very, very, very scary. Myself, Woods, and a bunch of the boys went to the hospital right after we were just waiting with like, the, like the COVID protocols, they don’t really let a whole lotta people inside the emergency room. So we’re literally outside, it’s raining, we’re outside the emergency room. We’re just waiting for like, word.”

About damn time:

Mick Foley says it is about time WWE honoured his old rival Vader...

“In my opinion, it’s time. It’s time. It’s about damn time. I’m so happy for Leon’s Family and in a sense, I’m happy for myself too because whenever I asked about the WWE Hall of Fame and who should be in there, the number one name I gave, it used to be Chyna and Vader. Chyna’s in there now with DX. That’s another argument for another time if she should get in there on her own, but I always thought the most glaring omission was Vader. I don’t think he had the run he should’ve. It’s not a matter of thinking. I know he did not get the run he should’ve had in WWE. That was a case of the company trying to fix something that wasn’t broken.”

Booker T talks concerns with AEW spot:

“I do think the Darby Allin’s of the world, of course, they have to do a little bit more, and give a little bit more. Just because he’s not the biggest guy in the world. But when I look at Darby Allin, I say man, ‘this is talent. And I’ve got to think about taking care of my talent.’ I just think you can figure out a different way to get to a means to an end. Opposed to having Darby Allin injure himself to where he can’t do this. Me personally, of course, if thee would have been a spot, there would have been a reason why Darby Allin did that. It wouldn’t have been done just to be a spot. That’s something that we could definitely utilize. Not just for this week, next week, but probably next month, or the next three months. If Darby Allin comes back next week and he’s just Darby Allin coming down on the skateboard, that’s one of those things to where it was a moment that was missed, and they’ll probably never get it back.”

“WWE had sent him, and them a cease-and-desist letter. Because he had done the Casino Battle Royal, that was his debut, and he came in as Billy Gunn, and he was wearing the lime green tights. He was doing the crotch chop and all of that. And WWE came in and said, ‘this is a problem,’ and sent in a cease and desist to everybody. AEW said, ‘hey, we want to help you, but we can’t help you. We aren’t your legal counsel, call Mike.’ Because they knew me from various people and other things, so Billy called me and the rest is history. They did (Own TM), and then let it go abandoned. Then he came in and scooped it up in 2016 I think, maybe 2017. He had got it registered, and they didn’t say anything for years, and he’s out doing the indies, doing all these things as Billy Gunn, and they never said anything.”

Gangrel says Vince McMahon is pissed he won:

Gangrel says Vince McMahon is furious that he won a long legal battle over his ring name, a battle the company had long given up on winning. He also recalled how the opportunity for him to get the rights came up...

“WWE brought me back to do an anniversary RAW or a battle royal, I did that, and then the next morning, again, boom, lawsuits from a different company. Then it went to court and the judge, he pretty much took the gavel and hammered down and said, ‘if I ever see this case again in court, everybody’s in trouble. The person that’s wrestling as Gangrel is Gangrel.’ Because Gangrel was a clan, not a vampire but a vampire clan, but whatever. I had to portray the character for all this time. But still, you couldn’t use it in certain ways, and WWE kind of abandoned all hope on that name, they just pressed it to the side. Somewhere in the process, there were some things that weren’t filled, and I ended up getting the rights to Gangrel. Its trademark is registered everywhere for sports entertainment, clothing lines, action figures, for whatever. I have it now, I have the trademark registry to Gangrel. I think stuff like that pisses Vince McMahon off personally and in a corporate sense. To avoid all of that, they just give people their own names, they just messed up on that one. They don’t want you to take what they’ve spent three years investing, which is kind of crappy on their part but it’s just business, and go somewhere else. They want you to have to go change your name. It’s just a business thing for them. I gotta stay on it and keep filing things.”

Taker remembers Scott Hall:

“Scott, we go way back. I went to Japan with Scott in 1988 or ’89, is where I met Scott. He kind of took me along and showed me the ropes, and it’s sad. It’s just another sad day in our industry.”

“It just felt completely wrong, it just didn’t feel like the time at all. I almost felt offended, I was very emotional, but almost felt offended like what? After my 90 days are up, the Hall of Fame is in April and I do go to AEW, how’s that going to work? What are y’all trying to hit me with as far as if I sign with AEW when I’m free and me going into the Hall of Fame and how  would that even work? My mind and my emotion went crazy and I was in tears man, like this is my career. I know I had been a very influential person to a lot of young misunderstood individuals but yeah, it just felt so wrong. Like how dare you? I know that sounds crazy because I guess when people get offered the Hall of Fame it’s like ‘oh, I’m a Hall of Famer’ but it’s never really meant that much to me. It’s not time for that, that’s why it was a hard no. Especially, it feels like something Matt and I should go in together as The Hardy Boyz when the time is right. It was just weird man,I still don’t know how I feel about that overall. It just felt so wrong.”

I see it as a transitional show in many ways, and I’m really excited about it because it is the first show under the new management, and it’s also a transition show before I will relaunch what I hope to be a really great, new Ring of Honor television product. A weekly series, wherever it does air or stream. This is a great opportunity to put our own stamp on it, but also pay respects to the great Ring of Honor traditions, and the great history of Ring of Honor with some of the top stars from recent Ring of Honor, and some of the great wrestler’s who’ve been in Ring of Honor historically. Briscoe sorry:

After reports AEW has no interest in picking up the Briscoes' after taking over ROH, Jay has again apologized for his past comments on the LGBTQ community...

“I want to say, thank you to the people who really know…we get labeled as homophobes. I put out a stupid tweet nine years ago, the most dumbest, immature, obnoxious s--t I’ve ever done. I don’t want anybody, from any walk of life, to feel like they can’t care for the Briscoes because I promise we love everybody. We love everybody and we just want to go out there and be pro wrestlers and give the best match that we can. I said some dumb s--t a long time ago, I apologized for it and I’ll apologize for it again. It was stupid. I feel like now there are people who look at us like ‘we can’t cheer for them because they hate a certain group of people.’ We don’t hate nobody. We love everybody. We’re just some country boys. I thought I was taking a stand for the Lord back in the day.”

BH...

“Wrestling life can be so much fun, and at the same time, it can take all you have at the same time. We’ve lost so many wrestlers from my era, and this is just one more to a list that’s far too long. I won’t blame any one thing, but I do believe that if the days of wrestling 300 days a year had been kinder and more considerate, if we could’ve been home with our loved ones more, many of my old friends and brothers would still be here. I think Scott would smile to know that so many people really loved him and will truly miss him. One more wrestler. A fine machine gone too soon. My thoughts and prayer go out to his family, friends, and loved ones.”

KN...

“We just had this conversation. I agree 100% the meat grinder hasn’t been kind to the crews that ran 300 plus days. 24 hours to live:

After fears were raised for the health of William Regal, he has opened up about being told that he only had 24 hours to live...

“They send me for a scan, because my legs are swelling, and they do a scan of my abdomen. Luckily, again fortunately for me, there is a cardiologist in the room. And this lady saved my life. She went, ‘hang on a minute, there’s something above that, that doesn’t look right.’ But they couldn’t scan there because you’ve already been injected. You can only do one. I go back Monday, I get a scan that I’ve never had before, some type of scan. I go back Monday, I went home, within an hour of me being in the house my cardiologist called me saying, ‘I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry.’ I am going, ‘why?’ He said, ‘we should have thought of this years ago,’ He’s telling me all of these things, ‘it doesn’t pick up on a regular scan.’ He said, ‘you’ve probably got less than six months to live.’ What had happened was this sack around my heart had completely calcified, it looked like a goose egg. It was completely constricted, it had just grown into a solid lump of rock, I have the picture which I can show you. Where they’ve cut me open and he’s wrapping on this goose egg with a scalpel. It’s going, ‘tap, tap tap,’ Then three hours later, you can see where he’s peeled it all off, you can see a completely beating heart. If they didn’t take this off now, I would have six months to go.”

His troubles were not over though, he developed sepsis in his leg, and his wife got a middle of the night phone call asking her to make an impossibly difficult decision, to amputate the leg, or lose him within 24 hours...

“I thought I was going to die, it was really bad. It was January 4th, somehow I got sepsis in my leg. Again, this is all things that happened to me, something gets me through this stuff. My wife gets a call, three o’clock in the morning, ‘he’s got sepsis in his leg, we are going to cut his leg off, and he’s probably got 24 hours to live if we don’t.’ It’s like madness.''

Tonight's news in memoriam of Scott 'Razor Ramon' Hall (1958 - 2022)... Bad times don't last... but bad guys do!

Scott Hall:

The bad guy is dead. Scott 'Razor Ramon' Hall died after his family asked for his life support system to be turned off yesterday, aged 63. He had been in hospital after suffering a fall and breaking his hip. The damage was so severe he needed to have his hip replaced. Complications during the procedure, blood clots detaching from the area and making their way into his blood stream, causing several heart attacks, decimated his body, and he was unable to kick out before the three count fell.

He will be remembered for his Intercontinental Championships, his role in the first ever ladder match in WWF/E, being a founder member of the NWO and his double HOF inductions for WWE, but he also led a colourful and troubled life. He has involved himself in some of the sports most controversial and groundbreaking moments in wrestling, the curtain call, jumping ship to WCW, starting the Monday night wars, and more. His battles with addiction have blighted his whole career. He also, by his own admittance, never got over taking a man's life in a shooting incident outside a nightclub in 1983. He got away with it, due to lack of evidence, but he never forgot or forgave himself for the altercation.

A trail-blazer and a one off, whatever you thought of Scott Hall, you will never forget him. RIP...

Mike Chioda says Rey Mysterio was not allowed to take his family to the WrestleMania 35 after show party...

“A few years ago, at my last WrestleMania in New Jersey, at the end of the night, Rey Mysterio couldn’t get his family in. He didn’t have enough wristbands, that was just two, three years ago. Rey Mysterio and I, we went out and bought bottles of Jack, bought bottles of vodka. Me and my wife, we went out with Rey, and his wife, and his son Dominik. We went outside with Rey and stuff, and I was like Rey, I’ll go in, I’ll get a couple of wristbands, I’ll come back out to you and give them to them, and we’ll just bring everybody in. There were a couple top people on the list, top people in the company that were like, no, you can’t get in if you don’t have the bands. It’s like, you’ve worked for the company for this many years and you’re telling me my family can’t come in? WrestleMania was supposed to be a big thing for you and your family, and it just became so difficult to have fun with the family even at the afterparty. It was very disappointing at times, definitely.”

Legacy wise, I think he’s one of the greatest I’ve ever stepped in the ring with. I never had to worry about anything. He made me a better wrestler, better performer just by tagging with him. To me, he’ll always be one of the greatest. I think no matter what he does or where he goes, he’ll be a massive success. He’s a huge asset to anybody who picks him up. I always believed the guy would be WWE champion – that’s never off the cards because people have left and come back, but I think that whoever snaps up Cesaro is going to have a major, major talent on their hands. And I think he’s got a lot left in him, as well. I saw him the other day, I was over at his house and he’s built a whole brand new gym, it’s amazing. He’s still lifting weights like a lunatic. He still trains like a lunatic. He’s as hungry now as he’s ever been. I’m just excited to see him back in the ring, mate, but that will be whenever he’s ready to get back in there – which I think is great, as well. Sometimes we need a little time away from the bubble to get our head back together, and then just refocus, go back in and kill it again. So, I’m not worried about him one bit in the slightest.”

You know, essentially, it’s the same type of thing with guys who maybe don’t have their own name or something. It’s just when you leave there, that character is still their property.”

But obviously want to go there, take on whoever it is – whether it’s New Day, whether it’s Usos, it doesn’t really matter to us – we just want to go in there and show people what we can do.”

Do you remember what I’m talking about? And then you see, and then you see fear on my face. Most people, most people are like, ‘that’s, that’s some great acting there.’ Uh uh. I wasn’t acting. I was legitimately terrified at that moment. Like legitimately, like for a work, not even a work. I was shoot terrified because I didn’t know if I kicked him too hard. I just remember when we were going over during the day, with his back to me, he told me, he’s like, ‘when you give me the dropkick,’ he’s like, ‘I can’t sell it if I don’t feel it. Like, lay it in.’ So I didn’t know if I kicked him too hard. It just goes to show how great he was because the look he was giving me, for real scared me.
