WWE movies:
WWE have started filming their co-produced family film with Netlflix. 'The Main Event' will follow a 10 year old bullied boy whose dreams of becoming a WWE star come to life when he finds a magical lucha mask. Many of the WWE and NXT roster are to appear, including WWE champ Kofi Kingston. NXT's Babatunde will be one of the most prominent characters in the film.
Fandango demoted:
Fandango has followed Tyler Breeze in returning to NXT.
Heat on Maria:
Maria Kanellis is getting heat on social media, on two fronts. Firstly for the domestic abuse angles with Mike on WWE TV, and also for winning a WWE title whilst pregnant.
Indie closes:
Defiant Wrestling are no more. The company ceased trading after three years this week. The UK promotion may be better remembered a What Culture Pro Wrestling.
Book upset:
Booker T feels WWE are devaluing the legacy of the Hardcore title by implementing the new 24/7 belt, which, he says, is purely for comic value, and holds no true distinction as a championship.
Titus' summer good deed 2:
Titus O'Neil has, for the second year in a row, teamed up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a back to school event for 15,000 children in the area. They will provide essentials for the school year, such as books, clothes and supplies, for free.
Hulk Hogan reveals why first Mania main was changed:
"The match, which was really crazy between me, Mr. T and Piper and Orndorff was Dr. D David Schultz idea. All the sudden we started building it up as Piper and Dr. D vs. me and T. David decided to do his own angle. At the Forum, I had T sitting ringside, because he was a friend of mine. And out of nowhere, Dr. D rolled out of the ring and b---h slapped him, a shoot slap. Chief Strongbow had him arrested. Vince was pissed, that was pretty much the bullet that did him in."
