Alberto Del Rio has quit WWE. He told WWE 60 days ago that he would be using his opt out contract clause, as he was frustrated his promised World title run was not forthcoming, and he did not enjoy being a part of a mid card faction earlier in the year. Cody Rhodes remembers WWE angle his dad hated:
"Here's the issue: I didn't want to be anything after my Dad's passing. I didn't want to be Stardust, but I didn't want to be Cody Rhodes either, because - it's a very long story that I shared with my buddy the other night and some people know this. My Dad despised the angle between - I want to say it was Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton, where they mentioned Eddie Guerrero and they mentioned his passing and they used it as a vessel. A lot of people said, 'Oh, well, Eddie would love this.' He might have, but I never, ever, ever will forget - my Dad and I were watching Raw at the time. My Dad said, 'Do not let anyone ever say I would've loved something.' And he was just talking about, in general, for when the day comes that he's not around and that stuck with me forever. I remember he went on a whole tirade that night. He was like, 'How do they know for sure?' and he was one of those who I had to beg him to come back for Battleground.''

Kurt Angle says he will be back with WWE within two years...
"Well, I'm not sitting at home waiting around. I'm doing my own thing but if I went back to WWE, most likely it would be next year or the year after. I did talk to Triple H a few months ago, a very loose conversation. They have interest. I have interest. They don't know what to do with me yet. It was more of a loose conversation. Put it this way: I wouldn't be surprised if I go back next year, but I wouldn't be surprised if I don't go back at all. But it was kind of cool to talk to Triple H and just bury the hatchet from the past and we're both on good terms with each other. I reach out to Vince [McMahon] every once in a while via text and it's just good to be able to let the past go behind you. And if it does happen, at least I'll be able to end my career there, if I do. If not, that's okay."

I have other aspirations, so we'll just see what happens."

"I believe that Ibushi is on the other side. And as much as that's the most heralded pick, it would be fate to some degree because we've been scheduled to wrestle each other so many times over the years in Germany and England but it has just never happened. Part of me likes that a match that should have happened on the British indies could happen for the first time in a WWE ring."
WWE return in the balance:
The sale of Shawn Michaels home in Texas could decide whether or not he moves to Florida full time to take over Terry Taylor's role at the PC. Torrie taping:

Steve Austin reveals how Shane prepares for his big bumps:
"Now, I won't say that no one has ever practiced a gag before a Monday Night RAW, because sometimes when they come off of that scaffolding, back in the day, I think Shane McMahon would do a test onto a crash pad before they removed that and used whatever they use, not in the form of a crash pad. But as far as Mick Foley going that night or several times doing what he did, hey, you take a look at it, you talk to the guy about it, and 'this is how it's going to be done.'"
Reckless Rollins:
Tazz has weighed in on the Seth Rollins story. He says blame should not all be put on Seth for his habit of hurting people, but his opponents should share the load. Alum ill:
Michelle McCool has had surgery to remove a patch of skin cancer from her back.
Brock vs Orton:
The match result did happen as it was planned. A back and forth match designed to make both men look as strong as possible, for as long as possible... but... Brock Lesnar did shoot on Orton. He assured Orton he could use his hands and elbows to cause a graze on Orton enough to have him bleed, without hurting him. He did not, he elbowed him hard, and then followed up with a series of brutal hard shots, causing a cut so deep he needed 10 staples to close it. The referee also stopped the match because of the blood loss, which was not the originally scripted ending. Orton was supposed to be KO'd by the beat down, and the ref then deems him unable to continue.

Alum critical of Seth Rollins:
Lance Storm says some of what Seth Rollins does is too dangerous, and is unnecessary for someone as talented as he is... "When your moves have a high risk but the risk is on you, I don't mind it as much. But when you're throwing guys backwards, the risk is all on him and I don't like stuff like that. I didn't like it when Sting took the buckle-bomb, and I don't like it when other guys take the buckle bomb."

I mean, like, right now, I'm in a position where decisions are needing to be made, so it's actually something that [has] been on my mind here recently. I think I've already made my decision, which one I want to do, if that gives you some suspense, I guess. I think I've already made my mind up, like, which one I want to do. Definitely between now and 2017 some decisions are going to have to be made and stuff's going to have to happen, so I'm just hoping for the best."

I am so confident in the division and know we will see it be taken to newer heights. I've seen FCW shows grow from 12 people in the crowd to NXT payperviews with 15,000 in Brooklyn. NXT is my life, it's everything I am, everything I've ever wanted in wrestling. The roster, the coaches, our bosses, our fans. All of it is everything I've ever wanted. I couldn't have dreamt up a better journey, and I couldn't have asked for better support and love that all of you have embraced me with. I love this industry with all of my heart but I mean this when I say it, I would not be able to do the things I've done without you guys. You fans match our passion. With everything we give you in the ring, you give us right back as fans. And that's what makes NXT special, and that's what I'll miss most. I'll miss my NXT family backstage, I'll miss those once in a lifetime moments like doing Finn Balors entrance or teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura or standing in the ring for 10 minutes as you guys sing a song, and I'll miss the proud feeling of being a part of it all. But I know it will continue. And I will never stop chasing that feeling. I am beyond excited to bring everything you all taught me, to WWE. Thank you for the memories, and as always, WE are NXT.''

My dad said I should:
Cody Rhodes says his father, Dusty Rhodes, advised him to leave WWE in 2012, and that he now regrets not taking his advice... "I know he would have supported it because he told me to ask for my release after WrestleMania 28. I waited until WrestleMania 32 to take his advice. At 28, I recalled particularly, he was unhappy with the direction things were going with me and Big Show, and he just thought that I was so close to the keys to the kingdom, and they were slipping away, that maybe leaving would wake them to the idea that this is somebody who wanted to captain your ship and the way you guys are treating him has pushed him out. But it seemed at the time like kind of a leopard's play, so it just didn't interest me. I wanted to stick it out, and I always tried to not take Pop's advice, because he's my dad, so the advice always came from that part of his heart, not the businessman part of his mind, but his heart, and actually at the end of my WWE career, he was right that I should have made that decision maybe a little sooner."
A backstage incident happened after SummerSlam. Chris Jericho ''Backed'' Brock Lesnar up, furious at his mis-treatment of Randy Orton during the main event. Jericho went to gorilla to see if Orton was OK, and asked Michael Hayes if that was the planned finish to the bout, Hayes refused to respond, leading Jericho to believe it was not, and Brock had taken liberties, and complained about it. Brock came through the curtain during Y2J's tirade, and he told him to shut up, and called him a pussy. Jericho was having none of it, and got right into his face, shouting the whole time. Brock pushed him, leading to Jericho returning, shoving the bigger man into the wall, and starting a physical confrontation. Triple H briefly broke things up, but a second flare up restarted the brawl, until Vince McMahon appeared and confirmed to Jericho that it was a work, and asked him to be professional. The roster are said to have popped for Jericho for the incident, and the ones close by told the bosses that it was Lesnar that started the fight, to keep heat off Chris. Also accusations of some particularly offensive comments from Lesnar, comments that could get him in serious heat if they were made public, have been made to some dirt sheeters. Tensions were only diffused fully when Randy Orton himself told Jericho that it was planned, and that he was OK.
Foley blasts fans:
''WHEN SMART FANS TURN DUMB. I have long felt, and often spoken about the element of magic needed to make a good match great and a great match classic. Finn Balor and Seth Rollins had a GREAT match last night - a match that I was HONORED to watch from ringside. But instead of that element of magic necessary to turn that great match into a classic, what Finn and Seth got instead was the stench of self-congratulatory snarkiness from a a very vocal minority of the sold-out Barklay's Center. But a couple thousand self-important chanters, mixed in with 14,000 other people who genuinely WANT TO WATCH THE FREAKING MATCH is an awful distraction. Yes, the chants were clever. Maybe the look of the Universal Championship isn't the one that I personally wouldn't have wanted. But remember the Hardcore Title? It was supposed to be a joke when it was presented to me – broken pieces of metal held together by duct tape. But we made that title mean something by busting our asses to show it's worth. As Seth Rollins writes in his tweet, a title is about more than appearance; it's about what it represents for the men fighting for it. Remember the WWE title I won from The Rock – that moment that has gone down as among the greatest in Monday Night Raw history? Did you know that title belt reeked of beer and mildew, and stunk up my bag every day for the 37 days (or whatever the exact number was) that I held it? Did you know that I didn't give an F about the beer and mildew... or what it looked like, what color it was, if it spun or had my name on it? I only cared about the hard work that had gone into winning it, and that those responsible for running the company felt that I was worthy of holding it. There are so many times when WWE fans act in a way that makes me proud. Last night was not one of them. Last night, that vocal minority in attendance - who thought their clever chants about their displeasure toward the aesthetic design of a FREAKING belt were more important than the two guys busting their asses to have the best match possible, made me feel ashamed. I hope some of those people who were chanting about the Universal Championship - many of whom are Finn Balor fans - will read this article, and realize that Finn flew his family in from Ireland to be part of the event last night. I hope they will take a good look at themselves in the mirror, and realize they made the evening a little less special for him by trying to make the evening about themselves. There is a reason why Seth Rollins simple, yet eloquent statement received 10,000 RT's from around the world. People agreed with him! Most of them would have loved to be sitting in the seats of those self-important fans - with that element of magic in the air that would have turned their great match into a classic.

Referring to the brand split... "The last one was great for the company. I was disappointed when the shows were merged together. I think RAW is just way too long being three hours. Last time I watched was when Shane returned and after that I said to myself, this is a long show. I got kids too, so goodnight! I think it gives people opportunities because they don't have to book the main people for RAW. Personally, I like the idea because there's no competition you have to build your own. That's what it was last time when I was there and hopefully it's the same this time around."

She did need help to get back to the locker room after her match however. Reports are she reported pain in the lumbar region of her back.

Seth Rollins talks Raw fan incident:

"Uh, well, delivering a promo, talking directly to Finn Balor, calling out the Demon King, and all of a sudden to my left I see a young man slide into the ring with a hard hat on -- I had to give him a little push and make sure that he kept his distance and our security handled it,. A guy who's not supposed to be in the ring, it's not his domain. He was a stagehand helping out with us that day and, you know, felt that the time was right to get his 15 seconds or whatever he wanted to do in that moment. Obviously, if you're a fan and you're watching our show, please don't get in the ring. It really doesn't work out well for anybody. That guy's probably going to see some jail time or some stiff consequences, and he's lucky that it ended up as peacefully as it did, to be honest with you. Really, don't try that when you come to the building. I urge it, it just doesn't work out well for you or for me. So, you know, let's just hope that's not a recurring theme."
