Today's News

WWE ends 20+ year relationship:

WWE have renaged on a promise to continue their relationship with their European distributor SilverVision and the two companies will split on December 31 of this year. The final releases of their 22 year relationship will be SummerSlam and the NWO retrospective.

Edge:

Has joined Twitter.

New signing:

WWE have signed a 6'8 college student named Jacob Southwick, who wrestles as Big Jake South in Ohio.

Jerry Lawler:

The King hosted a press conference for local media, he revealed he had suffered from discomfort in Aruba but thought it was indigestion, acknowledged his life was saved by the WWE doctors but joked he is still suffering pain from his ribs after the chest compressions, and says the condition is hereditary.

When he was asked if he would continue to wrestle, he answered with a single word...

“Absolutely.”

Related to this a picture has been posted on a wrestling forum of Triple H and Rey Mysterio crying while Jerry was been worked on, I have looked for the link, but it has now been removed.

Konnan vs Angle:

Konnan has recalled backstage tensions at last months Triple mania in Mexico, he said Kurt Angle would not talk to him or even look at him the whole day, then as soon as the show ended he was hugging him and acting like they hadn't seen each other in forever.

John Cena:

Has angrily challenged WWE's ambition to get him back in two weeks, saying he would not jeopardize his safety by rushing himself back too soon...

“Some #jackwagon from @wwe dotcom apparently posted me recovering in 14 days,” Cena wrote. “I spoke in depth with my surgeon Dr James Andrews And he specifically told me due to the amount of fragmentation, SIX WEEKS is a safer time table for recovery. I apologize on behalf of a Website whos credibility is now equal to #theonion please @wwe web guys, get your monkey frankin facts straight!''

He then offered to provide proof for WWE...

“You folks have my word i will try my best to get healthy as quick as i can, and im sure i wont stay away from #raw but as of now I am supposed to lay low for SIX WEEKS. I will send surgery photos and video to @wwe so they can see how bad it really was. I am also sure that if @wwe took a second to reach out to the actual surgeon, that Dr Andrews would gladly comment.''

His Doctor actually has advised John Cena he should not start his rehab for 6 - 8 weeks, and he says he told WWE this before the procedure was even booked.

Dawn Marie:

Has given an interview on her charity wrestlers rescue, starting with why she began it...

''I left wrestling in 2005 to have my children and my son. I was away from it for about two years. Then, what happened was I started to go back into it, started to do autograph signings. I guess from stepping away from it and going back, it made me realize things that needed to change, things that were going on.

So, I was at a show in Chicago and I saw The Iron Sheik and he was just in really bad shape. I just saw that and it just made me sad that he was living his life in a wheel chair due to needing a double knee replacement. There’s no reason for that. In any other business, if you needed a double knee replacement due to your career choice, it would be covered in some way.

Asbestos. I like to use that for an example. Once they realized what happened and people were breathing in harmful air and giving them lung cancer, there was a class-action suit and they were taken care of.

Same thing with the ring. The ring was really stiff back then, it barely gave. So, there’s a lot of knee replacements and hip replacements. Things like that. Nobody takes care of them. They were left on their own to take care of it and that’s a very expensive bill to take care of. So, I just saw the need and started the foundation and thought that this would be a really great way to stay within the business and change it in a positive way at the same time.''

WWE stars benched:

Christian has undergone shoulder surgery and is now recovering.

John Laurinaitis will not make his on screen return until next spring / summer after also having shoulder surgery, for a torn rotator cuff.

Sulky Funkasaurus:

I think this is quite funny, Brodus Clay and Booker T had a backstage altercation the night of Jerry Lawler's heart scare, because Brodus was legit hurt that he scored so poorly in the fan vote for a match vs CM Punk, and Booker seeing how he was acting, started to rib him to cheer him up, it didn't work... Clay snapped at him to ''Leave me alone''.

Double turn planned:

Dolph Ziggler has offered to turn face, because Randy Orton is so desperate to turn heel, and WWE want to complete this story first.

Canadian try outs:

William Regal and The Brooklyn Brawler hosted a try out in Ontario recently, stars including veteran Tyson Dux and a couple of Edge protege's were assessed including mic skills, Regal and The Brawler took turns having a mic confrontation with them while the other took notes.

New rule to be debuted on WWE:

WWE are to start a instant replay rule for referee's to use to reverse bad calls, the story with Punk on Raw last week was the kayfabe reason to bring it in.

Matt Morgan:

Is talking to Eric Bischoff about his return story, he will go straight to the top of the card.

House Of Hardcore:

The first card for Tommy Dreamer's new promotion will be...

TNA lies:

TNA have been audited and it was revealed that they have bought some Twitter followers they have 189,000 followers, but only 27,639 are real.

Jeff Jarrett:

Is expected back with TNA soon, but it is said to be 50/50 on whether he will be the Aces and Eights Leader, Matt Morgan has now been linked with the role.

The Rock:

Has returned to the USA after filming on Fast 6 has wrapped.

Matt Hardy:

Has weighed in on the rumours of his brother Jeff returning to WWE...

“Jeff doesn’t need or care about money.”

Possible angle nixed:

After the brutally botched match on SmackDown, WWE are talking about pulling the Rey vs Sin Cara WrestleMania angle, because Rey would have to carry Sin Cara to a good match, and they feel he is too beat up to do all the work.
