Mick Foley defends CM Punk:
After sharing this photo of CM Punk on his social media, Mick Foley was clearly saddened or offended by criticism of the former WWE champion from his followers. He has defended CM today with this statement...
''Yes, the response to that funny photo of CM Punk on a milk carton was incredible. While I respect everybody's opinion – as long as it is given in a respectful way, I have to disagree with those out there who find great fault in Punk's simply walk away. I am kind of like a ghost that drifts in and out of WWE, but in my past three years of drifting, I have never been to a WWE event where Punk was not in considerable pain. Ice packs, heating pads, and visits to the trainer were as much a part of his daily routine as eating. sleeping, and wrestling. Performing at that level, in that degree of pain was only possible when accompanied by the passion that turned an unlikely Indy kid into one of the greatest WWE superstars of his generation. Once that passions gone, then so are all of the things that made him great. I know what it feels like to go through the motions, and to do what needs to be done solely for the paycheck. It's not pretty – and though I have not talked to Punk since the night before he left, I have to believe he has too much respect for what he does to let people see him going through the motions. If or when that day comes when CM punk returns to WWE, I hope it's with that same passion that made so many of you care about him to begin with.''
AJ Styles on worries for TNA:
''I've heard and been told, it's been horribly mismanaged as a company. I don't know if they're going out of business. But they're definitely doing things that make people think they're going out of business. And I hope they don't. I hope TNA doesn't go out of business because I have a lot of good friends that work there and deserve to be in the national spotlight. My hope is that they never go out of business.''
He also opened the door to Jeff Jarrett's new promotion, saying he would like to be involved.
CM Punk:
WWE insiders have confirmed CM Punk is still receiving his royalty cheques for his merch, which is a big earner, second only to John Cena. It was also noted that Punk is not suspended, fired, or released, but is simply taking some leave.
Triple H:
Triple H suffered a muscle injury at WrestleMania 30.
Title changes:
WWE have had to change their Diva's title plans again, this time a planned rematch between AJ and Paige at Extreme Rules, dropped after AJ requested time off the road, Tamina has got the match instead.
The IC stories are also being chopped and changed. The original plan of Big E. vs Alberto Del Rio was dropped in favour of Christian, but his injury meant they were going to have a four way qualifier match on Raw, with Cesaro or Big Show winning. Vince did not like that idea, and told creative to write a tournament angle instead, feeling it would make the challenger look stronger.
Cesaro is expected to be the man to get the shot at Extreme Rules, but plans are changing constantly so he may not, but WWE do have big plans for the Swiss this year.
Rey Mysterio:
Rey is injured... again. And again it is his knee, WWE have given him time off to rest and spend time with his new child. They will, over the next year, transition him from the ring into an ambassadorial role, so his ring days are coming to an end.
Reward for Lesnar:
Brock Lesnar likely will not be back until SummerSlam, where he is expected to challenge for, and win the WWE Title from Daniel Bryan.
NXT star returns:
Enzo Amore is back in action following a broken leg.
Extreme Rules:
Alexander Rusev will get a squash match at the PPV next month.
WWE star being chased:
WWE are bracing themselves for an attempt to poach presenter Renee Young by ESPN, who have been very impressed by the Canadian's smooth and easy style for WWE, in her short time with the promotion.
TNA:
Rockstar Spud is the latest star given a new contract by TNA this week.
Austin Aries is in the doghouse after ''Blowing up'' due to being under used, officials are said to have ''Iced'' him from their plans since.
Vickie Guerrero:
Vickie Guerrero has handed her notice in to WWE, but will continue to work for them on a now and again basis. She has delayed her departure, and is still on the road, but when she does leave, it won't be the last we see of her.
Summer Rae:
Summer will return heel after filming the Marine 4. She will portray an angry jilted lover, after Fandango dumped her a few days ago.
Mark Henry:
Mark Henry has filmed a cameo appearance in the movie Haunted House 2.
Milestone for Ambrose:
Dean Ambrose is 10 days away from becoming the longest reigning US champion in the WWE era of the title. If he can hang on, he will take the 343 day record of MVP, who now works with TNA, after snubbing WWE... coincidence?.
Cesaro:
WWE are working on theme music for Cesaro, but feel having none is a talking point for him.
WWE also hope to recreate the fan push, previously seen for Daniel Bryan, for Cesaro. They will continue to book him as a heel, while he continues to portray a face, WWE hope the fans will push for him to be turned face, only for them to ignore the fans and book him as a stronger heel every week, until finally Cesaro has enough and switches role himself, leading to a match vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE title later in the summer.
ROH make big move:
Ring Of Honor will host their first PPV on June 22. Interestingly it will be called ''Best In The World''... I know a former ROH star that liked to say that... hmmm...
Jesse Neal:
Jesse Neal, formerly of TNA, has bitten back at wrestling sites mocking his new career as a night shift worker at Walmart in Orlando, Florida. He say's he is getting paid better than he did at TNA, and has a family to provide for, in an angry twitter rant.
