Today's News

Doink The Clown interview:

Matt Bourne, The original Doink has recalled the creation of one of WWE's most famous characters...

“I worked as Matt Borne on TV. I did whatever they asked me to do. On the third night, Vince called me into his office and he asked me about my history in the wrestling business and from that conversation, he came up with the evil clown thing. It took me a back at first. He thought I could do it given my background but only if I wanted to do it. He told me to go home and think about it and I called him the next week and he flew me back and they had drawings and all kinds of shit and they painted my face different ways. Two weeks later, I was on TV in the nosebleeds section being a clown.”

He said he used Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the Joker as a source for his characterisation, and said he ''Drank in all evil clowns''.

On WrestleMania 9 frustrations, he revealed he was booked to face Hulk Hogan, but he refused because he didn't like Buzz Sawyer, and he said Matt and Buzz looked alike. He was then given British Bulldog, who also refused the match, but never explained why, so he eventually got Crush.

He also revealed how Hulk Hogan got the black eye at Mania 9, he says Hulk had brought Miss Elizabeth to the show and was hiding her in his dressing room, because she was dating a friend of Hogan's, Savage found out and went to see the Hulkster, after the meeting, Hogan had a bruise he didn't have before.

He also revealed he doesn't like Hacksaw Jim Duggan.

Drew McIntyre has undergone surgery, but did not specify for what or long he will be out.

WWE's woman troubles:

Shaul Guerrero is said to have left because she wants to pick up her studies, but has a contract waiting if and when she wants to come back.

They do not expect Kelly Kelly to return any time soon, and one official had a bit of a niggle at Beth Phoenix, confirming she was going next month, and adding rather spitefully that it was about time, and that she will only be playing nurse to Edge, who needs neck surgery.

She is expected to come back in the future.

Finally WWE expect more ladies to leave, the next may be Eve Torres, who is engaged to be married, and from comments she has been making to fellow workers, WWE expect her to quit when she does, because She (they believe) will not want to be on the road constantly at the start of her married life.

Today's News

TNA Hall Of Fame:

TNA have confirmed Lex Luger will be a star guest at the Hall Of Fame induction of Sting, but did not say he would be the man inducting him.

WWE release:

WWE have come to terms with Kelly Kelly on her release. She had taken a break from action in May, and had started to accept bookings independent of WWE, without permission. She did return for Raw 1000 but was not used on camera, which upset her. WWE had been stepping up their attempts to get her to sign a new deal, especially after Beth Phoenix handed in her notice, those talks have clearly not gone well, and WWE have given up and cut her loose.

Kelly, thanked the company, fellow workers and her fans for 6 great years and says she is going to return to modelling, and wants to act and present. She later told bleacher report that she made her name, earned her dollars and got out while she was at her hottest.

Summer - Rae may benefit from Kelly's departure, she is possibly going to be promoted to the main roster to fill the gap as the bubbly blonde female face of the company.

Jerry Lawler:

Says he is working on getting back to work for the October 16 Smackdown in Memphis.

Raven:

Has joined House Of Hardcore.

Lita vs Reby:

Matt Hardy stepped into an attack on his girl friend by trolls who said she was ''Sloppy seconds'' and that Matt should still be with Lita...

“Any hate on @RebySky due to my relationship with @AmyDumas that was 7 YEARS AGO is really absurd & invalid. Two TOTALLY different women who don’t know one another, or are concerned about one another. My history is past tense, Reby is my present & future. Rebecca Reyes was with me when I was in my darkest days, stayed with me, & she helped keep me in check to make changes I needed to make. I appreciate that more than I can put into words. Insulting her about a non-existent issue just becomes unnecessary cyber-hate spewed over social media. And Reby will fight & strike back, that’s just how she’s wired-to fight for what she believes & who she loves. This issue only lingers because wrestling fans won’t let it go. Everyone involved has-it’s time everyone else does also.”

Jack Swagger:

Will return to WWE TV on Raw next week.

Sunny beds Bulldog:

Hall Of Famer Sunny has claimed she had an affair with the late British Bulldog, around the same time she was allegedly involved with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. (Video).

Davey's daughter has angrily denied the claims...

“I have been contacted/tweeted about the whole Sunny ‘Affair’ regarding my dad… I don’t want to give this topic any attention. But that is complete lies and with what my brother, my mother and what my family have been through, she should have more respect…Also, I don’t know What she gets out of boasting/bragging about sleeping with thousands of wrestlers? That is pretty sad/pathetic.”

That is of course illegal to film & distribute w/out permission. I’m sorry to ppl who have already paid But that is completely on @NSPW plz don’t blame me. I’m still willing to hold up my end of the deal. Plz take your complaints to @NSPW”

They responded...

“Due to TNA deciding that their talent cant appear on indy feds’ dvd, we hav no choice but to cancel Chavo Guerrero’s appearance on Oct. 6th. Mr. Guerrero’s claim that we decided last minute to tape and sell dvds is incorrect has we have done dvds of all of our shows. It is just not possible to cover the cost without dvds of the event. Never in the past has this been an issue with any guests. NSPW finds the situation and the decision made by TNA to prevent talent from appearing on dvds to be unfortunate. NSPW doesn’t hold anything against Mr Guerrero and wishes him nothing but the best with TNA Wrestling. A suitable replacement for our Main Event will be announced tonight!”

Shaul (Daughter of Eddie and Vickie Guerrero) is said to have asked for and was granted her release from WWE yesterday, still no word from WWE, Shaul or her Mother confirming this yet, or providing a reason why she walked from what was expected to be a promising in ring career.

She was not the only diva dropped yesterday, Skyler Moon has entered WWE rehab, which explains why her profile was deleted from the NXT website a couple of weeks ago, she has probably ruined any chances of a WWE career, though again their is no word yet from WWE.

John Morrison:

Has landed a movie role with Danny Trejo, and is said to be working extremely hard to make contacts and get noticed in Hollywood, he is also showing no interest in returning to WWE.

He is still in a relationship with Melina, who was injured (Torn Calf) at her last wrestling meet, and is confined to management at the minute.

New Cena:

John Cena's recent injuries have woken WWE up to the news that they need a new ''Face'' of the company, early favourites are CM Punk, but even as a super face he was never universally liked enough to be considered the one, and Sheamus, who Triple H is firmly behind, but he is the same age as Cena and WWE want someone to lead the company long term, so would ideally want someone aged 25 tops.

I have been inducted into the OVW hall of fame which only has 5 members but when Danny Davis, AL Snow, Frank Miller and my Long time Broadcast partner Dean Hill voted to have the world wide known “Gorilla Position” renamed the “Bolin Position” (the entrance area near the curtain) at Davis arena and all OVW shows from this day forward. I nearly broke down when Dean presented me with this honor at the End of the TV taping. the be mentioned in the same breath as Gorilla Monsoon is more than i could ever live up to. i could have never expected such a tribute to my name while i was still living. this was better than having a park named after me in La Grange Ky. “hint, hint” LOL I love you all at OVW and my friends and fans and i truly hope i get to return one day. OVW will always be a part of my life!
Kenny Bolin.”

“So you have to wonder if Vince and the doctor said it and Cena is saying six weeks, there is an interesting issue there. Is it that John Cena wanted the full six weeks out? Was John Cena then told something after Tuesdays that conflicted with this? But it was very quickly thereafter they reported it on the website that this was not in fact the situation. The reality of it is, John Cena is coming off a divorce, he’s beaten up. He’s got a bad neck, a bad hip, bad everything. He’s closing in on 36. The wear and tear of a guy like that, that goes, goes, goes and is a company man, you gotta think about.”

To see the remarkable recovery that Jerry has made, to see him home and to see him walking around like nothing happened to him, is mind-boggling to me because it is not what I was witnessing that night… Somehow, for some reason, Jerry Lawler is still with us, and that to me is nothing short of a miracle because I don’t think anybody that was there that night — that was backstage or that was privy to what was going on — would have never, never imagined this outcome.”

“Jerry, I can’t stress enough, is a fighter. Trust me, I know. I have a huge scar on the top of my head with nine staples in it. He is already on his way to making an amazing recovery.”

And when asked who he wanted to face from Austin, Rock and Brock, he instead chose Tyson Kidd.

Sophia Cortez:

Has done her first interview since her WWE departure, she was asked how she felt about her release...

“Definitely a shock to me, and a shock to many, many — not just fans. It was very hard for me, especially throughout the clause of the contract. My whole career basically for eight years or so, pouring [my] heart and soul into something, and everything’s going great and the direction you put all the effort to — and all of a sudden it’s gone. It’s really hard. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through other than the thing with Tough Enough, because I’ve given my all. I was still in high school and after that I gave up scholarships to just struggle to do what I wanted to do with wrestling. I came here to the States from Puerto Rico with nothing and just started from the ground up, and thankfully I was blessed to be able to get noticed with WWE. I’m a hundred times grateful for the opportunities while there. It’s just unfortunate, you know?”

She also said she was disappointed with the way WWE handled the Cameron situation so differently, saying it ''Kinda Sucks''.

Tyler Reks:

Says he still believes his wrestling career is over, but also that Triple H called recently him to invite him to return whenever he wants...

“Triple H called me for the first time since I left the other day and we had a great conversation and he told me the door will always be open for me to come backstage and say hi to all of the guys when they come into town.”

He also recalled his interactions with Vince McMahon...

“I never really had any dealings with Vince on a daily basis, I had a conversation with him in his office when I was debuting on ECW where he told me what he expected and he asked a bunch of questions about me and my family and if I had any questions for him, it was about five to ten minutes in his office and I was a little timid.

A year later when I went over to SmackDown as the new Reks, the same thing happened and I was little bit more comfortable. If I saw him walking down the halls, I would stick my hand out and get a handshake and just ask him how he was but that would be about it, that’s basically most people’s interaction with him throughout their entire course in the WWE unless they’re are a top guy. Vince is a very busy guy.”

Today's News

Character Change?:

Santino Marella has discussed his ambitions for his career future, and hinted he wants to become the World Champion, conceding he will have to develop a more serious persona before he gets that chance.

He also said he doesn't get along with The Miz and Cody Rhodes...

“But that’s because they can’t laugh at themselves,” Marella said. “They’ll laugh at someone else, but when it comes to themselves—they take things way too seriously.”

Injury:

A match on Saturday had to be stopped by WWE doctors when Ryback suffered a serious facial cut early into a bout vs Jinder Mahal.

Jinder Mahal:

Says his career highlight was Raw 1000...

“Being part of Raw 1000 in the same ring with Undertaker and Kane leading an army of young hungry wrestlers was amazing,” he recalled. “In Birmingham, England I had a match with Tyson Kidd and Mick Foley was at ringside and delivered a socko to me at the end of the match. That was another one of those moments that if you told me I would be in the ring with Mick Foley giving me a socko I wouldn’t believe you. It is those moments that make me realize what I have accomplished in my life, from humble beginnings in Stampede Wrestling to coming to FCW and making my way to the roster and sharing the ring with Undertaker, Kane and Mick Foley is just the best.”

And his future plans...

“I am going to keep working hard to climb up the ranks of the WWE. You can catch me on Superstars on almost a weekly basis and I am making waves in NXT and want to capture that title from Seth Rollins. When I am on Raw and Smackdown I try to make the best of it. I am young, just 26 and have a great deal to offer to the WWE. I am excited to see what the future brings, the possibilities are endless.”
