31/12/2017

So we've made it through another year. Thank you for your continued support of the site throughout 2017, should we go on for another year?

Fat News Barrett:

Wade Barrett has teased entering next months Royal Rumble. He was getting trolled for his more generous figure after posting a picture of his New Years holiday in Bermuda. He says his abs will be back in time for the 30 man match. He does have a habit of trolling fans around this time of year though, so don't take him too seriously.

Promotion keep promise:

The promotion that promised to play Sid's excuse for no-showing a live this week have done so. It is very sweary, so if that offends be aware...

30/12/2017

ADR recalls WWE firing him:

"WWE actually said that everything was going to be fine. They said that they know and understand that he crossed the line, but they did tell me that I know that I needed to control my temper. My response was that it is just not easy to do that. It is easier said than done, especially when you have a guy who isn't bringing any money in by taking any bumps, or sweating and bleeding for this company, he's just a Social Media guy and comes to disrespect me and my family; disrespect my culture at the place where I was born. I'm not saying that I am the toughest guy or anything like that, but everyone knows that I can go, and it was a known fact within the company that I am a respectful person, and that I respect everyone. I just don't know why this guy thought he can make such a stupid comment where he said that this is why we have Mexicans to clean the plates, and I thought, what? Everyone knows that when I talked to the important people in the company they told me that everything was going to be fine, just go and shake hands. Several days later Triple H called me and said that they had to let me go," he continued. "I was shocked. He made fun of me and disrespected me yet I'm the one being fired? He responded by saying that he understood, but that they will call me later, just lay low for a while. I said that if you let me go right now I am going to go work somewhere else, and he stated that if I did that then I may lose the possibility to come back to WWE, and then I said that if that was the case then so be it. I ended up putting the phone down. It was a rough day where I was even crying."

XFL setback:

Vince McMahon has had his trademark claim for the relaunch of XFL, under a new name, UFL (United Football League) refused. Another sports related venture already has it. Vince now needs to prove there will be no conflict with the current holder of the TM before re-filing.

Sid mocked:

ECIII dressed as Sid at the show he did not attend last night, as a parody of the WWE Alum.

Gimmick infringement:

Wes Brisco says WWE stole the Aces & 8's gimmick for the Shield...

"All those guys that we were together with, we stuck together, we hung out together, we were together. I mean, we took this. We wanted to be very successful. We wanted to treat it like it was our baby, our opportunity to set an example and create something totally different. Because if you look at it, that's what started The Shield because of us. If you really look at it, we started before The Shield even came through the crowd, we had the mask on. Basically, the exact same thing."

HOF'er to be honoured:

Gerry Brisco will be presented with the outstanding American award at next years national wrestling HOF.

Strowman sent home:

Braun Strowman has been allowed to leave the road after taking ill.

DDP reaches out:

DDP says Justin Credible did not ask him for help, as he claimed, it was he that made the call...

"I didn't get a phone call from him, I made a phone call to him. Because of helping Jake, and Scott, Vader, and Mick Foley … just by reaching out and helping the guys, when someone is hurting, they'll contact me. So I know about it pretty much right away. I always loved PJ. He's a great kid who just made some bad decisions... I told him if he gets to work doing the program five days a week, we'll talk every day or a minimum of every other day. I told him, if he gets on track for a month, then I'll bring you down here, and we'll work together, and I'll start to really treat him this time. I'll actually teach him how to teach what I do."

He also says he is open to another Rumble match...

"If they call me, I'll be there. But if I never get in the ring again, I am so happy to have had the run I had. Didn't really have the greatest run when I first got to the WWE, but the last five years were unbelievable. They let me come out in the Rumble a couple of years back and drop a bunch of diamond cutters. It blew the roof off."

Crusher's family in crowd:

Connor The Crusher's family were in the crowd at last night's live, including his brother Jackson (Good name, kid!).

GFW are back:

Sid no-shows for political reason:

Sycho Sid no-showed a live appearance because of the travel ban in the US. He claimed that because he had a speeding ticket he was not allowed to board a plane, even though he was travelling within the country, was a US citizen and was not flying from or to one of the banned countries. The promotion didn't buy it, and are threatening to play the audio of his excuse at their next show.

Quit!:

Bubba Ray is the second star this week to advise Dolph Ziggler to quit WWE.

28/12/2017

KO wants fan reaction:

"I just try to listen to strong reaction. To me the best reaction is a mix of both boos and cheers. John Cena and Roman Reigns get insane reactions where half the crowd loves them and half the crowd despises them. When you're in the ring waiting for your opponent, whether it's John or Roman, you get hit by this crazy noise. It's people almost competing with each other. The guy who's booing one of them is trying to be louder than the guy cheering. It makes for a special atmosphere. That's really what I'm striving for."

JR recalls career regret:

"I worked so diligently and with all my heart to get Mick hired because I felt like he was a good citizen and a great opponent for The Undertaker, which I needed at that time. I didn't get to call that match. That's one of my regrets as far as Raw was that I was ill when Foley won his title. I thought it was a moment I would have loved to experience with him."

Injury:

A women's match had to be stopped last night after Paige suffered a back injury when Sasha Banks kicked her. A stretcher was brought out, but she managed to get to the locker room without it. She suffered a stinger and is waiting on test results. In the mean time she has been pulled from competing.

Here is a video of the scary incident...

Karl Anderson says he was talking to TNA when WWE called offering them a deal last year...

"I remember when Gallows came and the way we clicked over there, and I said, 'man, we really, we've got to get into America somehow.' Do you know what I mean? We almost went to TNA. Thank goodness WWE called in the same exact month, but I mean, we knew we had to do something. I wanted to get over here. WWE is the place to be. It's the place we wanted to be. I wanted that exposure finally."

Taker return:

After a purported leak of next years HOF class speculation on Undertaker wrestling at Mania has grown. Had he retired this year, he would surely be the headline inductee next, but, he was not listed. Kid Rock, however, was. A theory has sprung up online, and is gaining traction, that Undertaker will wrestle, but not as dead man. He will resume his American bad ass biker gimmick, sung to the ring by the celeb HOF'er Kid Rock.

Quick sprinkle of realism though, Vince hated the biker gimmick, and is unlikely to go for it.

Kenny Omega slates Nakamura:

"I'm happy for the response that he's getting, of course, and all of us in New Japan knew when he left that he was going to get over with his charisma. But when I see Nakamura in WWE, it's hard for me to say he's done anything compelling in-ring since he's been there, which is a shame. It will just take the one right story and the one right moment and then people will be captivated by everything that he does. Right now, he hasn't had that."

Move banned? / wrestler gone?:

After breaking Brian Kendrick's face this week, Hideo Itami did not use his GTS finish at the live last night. He instead used Neville's submission finisher, something he would be unlikely to do if Neville was coming back.

This naturally led to speculation that King Of The Ring was coming back, especially when they applied for the TM, but it looks like Money In The Bank will be getting elevated from it's current status as a single brand event to become the 5th of the new look big 5, alongside of course Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series.

Quit!:

"A lot of people have asked me, if they need you to do this, can you come back. I don't know if I would. Not right now. For me, there are so many things that I want to accomplish outside of WWE. I want to go out and I want to be able to make a name for myself... and I want people to know me as a performer, and to know that I can hang with the best of them. Given the chances, it's always been a dream of mine to travel the world and perform in these different places, Mexico and Japan, and experience the culture. I started taking lessons in both Spanish and Japanese, just to learn a little bit more, be more functional as a wrestler if given the opportunity... everything for me right now is a learning process. The end-all goal is for me a great professional wrestler."

Buff Bagwell will wrestle for the last time in May. He has also revealed anger at the WWE HOF...

"I 100 percent couldn't care less, and I don't mean that ugly. Let me give you a great answer why. Teddy Long is in the WWE Hall of Fame, and The Total Package, Lex Luger, that is in a wheelchair, that everybody in the world knows, is not. Take those two, and it diminishes the WWE Hall of Fame tremendously. I mean, don't get me wrong. If I got in it, I'd be very proud and say I made it and here's my ring. But at the same time, if I didn't get called by them, I won't lose an ounce of sleep over not getting in the WWE Hall of Fame."

Alum wedding:

John Morrison will marry Taya on June 1st.

24/12/2017

NXT to WWE:

Alexa Bliss says WWE over prepares talent for life in WWE whilst at the PC and in NXT...

"NXT prepares you for literally everything for the main roster. They probably over-prepare you. With everything that they have at the Performance Center to now NXT touring now, they are doing venues now that are the size of our live events, so they are more than prepared for when they come to the roster and I don't think it's that much of a shift now when they come up."

I want to dabble in everything. I wish I did have time to relax, but I'm a Virgo and it's just not in me. I think the hustle is just in my blood -- always hungry, never satisfied."

Of course I want to win it, but at the same time, I would just want her to pick me up and throw me over the top. I would mark out, but I would land on my hands and go back into the ring like Kofi Kingston. Any of those girls would be incredible, but of course I would love to see girls from NXT get the opportunity, but of course they wouldn't win it because I would be the last person standing."

Injury:

Batista has received a black eye from Jack Swagger. He is training the recently released WWE star for his MMA debut next year.

Fan assault:

Kalisto received stitches to a facial cut and a possible fracture after having a water bottle thrown at him by a fan this week.

Big names open door to WWE:

James Storm says he would consider any offers from WWE NXT...

"People always say, 'main roster or bust type of guy,' but if you look at NXT, it's one of the hottest things going right now no matter what people say. And it's one of those things where anybody would be proud to be signed to NXT and have a good run there. I mean, it's plain and simple. They are doing as much as the people on the main roster is on the road and stuff like that right now. So, I mean, I'd definitely go and work with those guys and help them out as best I can."

Rey Mysterio too, would consider a return...

"I would definitely love to go back and finish up. Whether it's one year or whatever the case might be. Whether it's a farewell. I owe a lot to that company. That company gave me such an amazing opportunity, and I took advantage of every single moment I was with WWE to the fullest. I wouldn't want to just be remembered as 'Oh, man, he never re-signed and he never came back.' I would definitely love to come back and do a last run and say goodbye to my WWE fans. Tell them goodbye in a proper way. I don't think I can go back to a full-time schedule. There's just no way. I can't go back to that schedule. It would be common sense for them as well. That was my main motive for stepping away. I wanted to be able to have some free time. I'm still working really hard right now on the independent scene, but I control my schedule. I might get booked three days -- Friday, Saturday, Sunday, come home Monday, and the following weekend I don't have to work. That right there gives me a peaceful state of mind like you have no idea."

Unhappy D-Bry:

Daniel Bryan says he does not enjoy his current role...

"I love wrestling, but I don't love all of it, right? The hard part of wrestling is the travel and going here and there and being away from your family. The part that I love is being in the ring and wrestling. Yeah, being in there and doing it. So now, I've got the job that's the part of wrestling that I don't like. I am very appreciative of WWE giving me this something to do, but I think some people still think, 'oh, you're in wrestling still and you're getting a pay check - you should be happy.'"

He then laid down a challenge to WWE...

"If you look at some of the people who perform now, and so, this is one of my things too. And so I also need to say this because it comes across as 'argh, WWE!', but that is not the case at all. WWE is trying to protect me, right? And they're also trying to protect their company, but I don't know how many people on the roster, just in total, if you had them do all the brain testing that I've done that their tests would be as good as mine."

Before confirming he will quit the promotion at the end of his deal if they don't let him wrestle...

"If I get a bad test somewhere along the line, I won't wrestle. But I also, will probably, when my contract is up, I'd probably, if I'm still General Manager at that point, I'd probably step away from that part of it because just being around it, I love it a little too much and I need to transition. I need to get this focused because I'm very good at focusing on one thing, right? But then, I need to switch that laser focus to something else like saving the starving polar bears. So yeah, assuming everything continues as it has been going, when my contract is up I would wrestle elsewhere if WWE would not clear me."

Cena talks transition from ring to screen:

"Originally my film career was a direction from upper management in WWE—like, 'Hey, go do movies.' Originally what I wanted my film career to be was an extension of the WWE business model. I understood. WWE studios opened in 2003/2004, they began to film movies, and the model of the business was, 'If we can make our stars bigger stars, they will come to see WWE'. Well, that's what I wanted, but I didn't want to go do movies. The process of making a movie is so different. It takes a long time, it takes a lot of people, and there's nobody cheering you on. As a younger man I really was drawn, and still am, to the dynamic of a live audience, and the live experience of 'Just out there and see what happens'. But 15 years of telling stories in the WWE ring, the constant passion, loving my job every day, I began to ask why. As a young man, I didn't have the perspective. It was, 'Oh, because I want to be champion, and I want to do this or that!' Now, after all these years, it's like, why do I still love this? I love telling stories, man. I love telling stories. That's something that I didn't enjoy on multiple platforms in 2005-2006. Now you can see I enjoy helping with morning shows, doing tonight show bits, hosting, doing R-rated comedies, doing family movies, still doing WWE, being on reality TV. I think I'm just drawn to the creative process. Now with more experience and a more comfortable feeling in my own right in WWE, I'm confident enough to use those skills elsewhere."

Ric Flair on why Orton isn't face of WWE:

"If you look at John Cena, you have to look at the whole scenario of John's career. John is just an in-ring performer. He's very good in interviews, number one. Number two, he exhausts himself giving his off time to stuff he doesn't get paid for. Kids love him. Randy  doesn't want that role. Randy is happy, he wants to be home with his wife and kids. Could Randy pull it off? Of course. But Randy isn't interested in working in his days off. I don't blame him, not everybody is. That's a tough role, you sacrifice a lot of personal time and that's what my daughter is doing right now, but she wouldn't have it any other way."

Ryder retiring?:

Dolph Ziggler has hinted that Zack Ryder is moving behind the curtain...

"Ryder is just as weird now, just so you guys know. But he wears a suit at TVs now, so I don't know if he's getting groomed to be like an agent or something. There's a lot of purple. He has a lot of suits now! I think there's a suit guy that goes around here, but purple is often times almost a… I'm trying to think… almost like an H&M slim fit version of a Michael Hayes costume that you'd get."

I know how good I am and I love this job, I love doing it better than anyone else every single night. This Sunday at Clash of Champions, making it a triple threat, that means anything can happen. Anything goes, and if anyone is smarter than everyone else, it is me. I have the experience in my back pocket, and like I said, I'm so good at what I do. I am so confident I will find a way to win and become the United States Champion."
