Today's News

Angelina Love talks TNA return:

''It was magical, it felt so great to be back in front of the fans in an Impact Wrestling ring! This is my life, this is what I do and I felt right at home.''

WWE TV deals:

WGN have joined the bidding war for the WWE TV deals. WWE need to decide who takes over before their current deal ends in September.

WWE future:

With the recent interest in buying WWE by AMC, talk about WWE's future, post Vince McMahon is rife. Vince is never going to sell a controlling interest in his company, but what happens should something happen to him?.

Stephanie McMahon has taken a step back in the company, to allow Triple H more control.

Triple H has been praised for some of his work behind the curtain, but he is not thought to have the skills needed to be the CEO of a public company. His grasp on the wrestling side of the business would not be an issue, but his business acumen is questionable.

Shane McMahon walked away from WWE a few years ago, and has other business interests outside of WWE.

That leaves George Barrios, who has little experience in Media, and none in wrestling, and Michelle Wilson who has little knowledge of the wrestling side of the company.

So all options have issues, the best scenario would IMO be a group of people sharing control, Barrios and Wilson dealing with the business side of things, Stephanie looking after the media, and Triple H the wrestling, but there are some big ego's involved, and every one working on one level, without a clear leader could cause some huge issues.

Best solution, COME BACK SHANE!!!...

The salaries of some of the comapanies top staff have also been released...

* CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon - $1,184,500

* Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer George Barrios - $700,000

* Executive Producer Kevin Dunn - $700,000

* WWE Studios President Michael Luisi - $600,000

* Executive VP of Talent, Live Events and Creative Paul "Triple H" Levesque - $550,000

Triple H also has a $1,000,000 Per Annum wrestler contract in addition to his office salary.

Hall Of Fame 2014:

The reason WWE are inducting Carlos Colon has emerged. WWE have been in talks with WWC, to buy their video library for about a year, and the induction of the founder of the group, was a part of the agreement. WWE also want to increase their Spanish market popularity to further the reach of their Network, and WWC would cover that, they feel.

Colon has today confirmed that WWC are talking about selling their video library to WWE.

Paige:

Paige has paid tribute to former WWF Women's Champion Bull Nakano, and is using her finisher as part of her move set.

WrestleMania 30:

Backstage news on Mania 30 as we get closer to the show of shows...

The show will be 4 hours, plus a two hour pre show, and a post show (Length to be determined). The pre show being two hours is because they want to push the Network, the first hour will be solid promotion of the channel, before the second hour starts with a traditional pre show feel.

There will be 8 matches on the card, with another on the pre show.

5 matches are currently confirmed, the other 3 are up in the air, but current idea's being considered include...

For the Tag Team Championship...

* The Uso's vs The Real Americans...

* The Uso's vs RybAxel..

* The Uso's vs The New Age Outlaws...

* The Uso's vs The Real Americans vs RybAxel vs The New Age Outlaws...

* The Uso's vs The Real Americans vs RybAxel...

The original plan was a multi team match with The Outlaws defending, but WWE changed the titles to the Uso's after a series of impressive performances. The plan then was The Uso's vs The NAO, but an injury to Road Dogg's back has seemingly put paid to that, and the Real Americans were made favourites to get the shot, but coming out of this weeks SmackDown it appears that they have given shots to both the Real Americans and RybAxel, which would mean that Ryback and Curtis Axel would have to withdraw from the Battle Royal.

The Shield idea's...

* Dean Ambrose vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins...

* The Shield (Reigns / Rollins) vs The Wyatt's (Harper / Rowan)...

* Dean Ambrose vs Big E. (IC / US Title unification)...

* The Shield vs Kane & The New Age Outlaws...

With Big E. joining the Battle Royal, the unification match was scrapped, and that is now believed to be off the table, along with the Wyatt's vs Reigns / Rollins.

The new favourite idea is the 6 man. This idea came about after the New Age Outlaws requested to work with the Shield, This is looking likely because the Shield split has clearlly been delayed, the NAO dropping the Tag straps in recent weeks, and the Shield's growing feud with Kane, would make this match, Roadie's back injury allowing, the one they will probably go with IMO.

This would mean the other Wyatt's joining the Battle Royal.

They also have a plan to have a multi woman Diva's Title match, AJ will defend, the other entrants could be any one from Naomi, Natalya, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Tamina Snuka and Cameron. (A leak today has Brie winning the Diva's Title, and Daniel Bryan winning the WWE strap, but this has been rumoured for a long time, and with the couple getting married after Mania, and taking some time off, is unlikely).

WWE also want to showcase the NXT division at the show, probably the pre show.

Darren Young has teased being in the Battle Royal on WWE's App, but is not confirmed officially yet.

Ultimate Warrior:

The Ultimate Warrior has been at WWE HQ for meetings today, and thanked everyone for welcoming him... ''Home''.

WWE PPV:

Dish TV have reiterated that they will not carry any WWE PPV event's, including WrestleMania, with this statement...

"Please note that WWE is not willing to adjust PPV costs to satellite/cable companies, which is unfair to their customers. DISH needs to re-focus efforts to support partners that better serve DISH customers and other satellite/cable companies, including DirecTV, have also expressed they may no longer provide WWE PPV events in the future."

On DirecTV, they say they will carry Mania, but will then consider their future relationship with WWE. Comcast are one of a number of other providers that will look at their partnership with WWE once Mania is done. There could be some testing times ahead for WWE.

The Shield:

When The Shield split does come, it won't be a total split, Ambrose and Rollins will stay together, and a third member, rumoured to be Mason Ryan, may be added, in place of the departing Roman Reigns, who will be pushed to the stars going on into 2014.

Kelly Kelly returning to WWE:

Kelly Kelly says she will consider a return to WWE in the future, but not yet...

"I don't know to be honest with you, I'm doing some acting at the moment and I'm filming a movie right now. I'm really excited to be on a new adventure but you never know, I'm only 26-years-old so who knows what is going to happen in the future."

Hulk Hogan robbery:

Hulk Hogan has valued the boot stolen from his shop yesterday at $5,500. Local media in Florida have picked up on the story.

WWE stock:

WWE stock is currently at a record high price of $31.14 per share.

Cody vs Goldust:

Cody Rhodes vs Goldust will not happen this year, the two men will be added to the Battle Royal officially later this week, but Cody still wants the match...

"At the root of my professional career with my brother, I think I'm better than Goldust, and in his heart, he thinks he's better than I am. We love each other, and we're brothers, and that's great, but at the root of all that, you kind of want to find out who's right, and I certainly hope that at some point you get to see that match as well."

He has also talked about becoming tired of waiting for WWE to listen to his idea of bringing back the old Intercontinental title, so went ahead and paid for it to be re-designed himself.

Legend to ROH:

Jushin Thunder Liger will appear for ROH in May.

Buff Bagwell:

Buff Bagweel says politics is keeping him off TV with both WWE and TNA, and that he considers himself retired from wrestling...

"This [being a gigalo] is my job and I came up with this because wrestling seems to be over for me in the big world and I'm having to switch gears at the age of 44. So still being in shape to go to WWE tomorrow, ready to go to TNA tomorrow, it is just political (that I'm not there). So time to switch gears. This came up, I'm doing it, and I'm going on my debut and it was nuts. I was the second highest rated on the show. It is just blowing everyone's minds how quick this thing took off. I'm just riding the ride and seeing what happens."

Kofi Kingston:

Kofi Kingston has done an out of character and outspoken interview today, firstly saying he has been pushing for a heel turn for a long time, but WWE won't listen, that he wants a singles match at Mania, hinting at being unhappy with his soon to be confirmed spot in the Battle Royal, and that missing last years Mania was the lowest point of his career...

"I've been clamoring at that for a while now, but the situation has to be right and the timing has to be right; everything has to be right. I wouldn't want to just do it for the sake of doing it because you might get lost in the shuffle that way. If the situation was right, it would give me a chance to do something completely different and show people a side of me they have never seen before, which I think would be great and I think would be fun."

Paul Bearer:

The man that ran Paul Bearer's website has today said that WWE gave him an extra 10 years of life, because he was ready to die in 2002...

"Due to his weight, and all of the stresses in his life, he was pretty much ready to die at this point" Kurt Nielsen wrote. "A lot of people don't know how bad it really was. He would tell me little things, and it tore me apart knowing my friend was in such agony. WWE wanted to bring him back several times, but he always turned them down. Mentally and physically, he could not do it. Finally, when asked what WWE could do to make his life better, so he could come back to the wrestling business that he loved so much, Bill told them he had only one thing that could save him: gastric bypass surgery. WWE gave that to Bill as a gift."
