Fan incident:
Paige is involved in a heated feud with a fan on social media. A lady accused her of snubbing a young boy at a UFC show because her boyfriend did not want to wait around while she took pictures, and that she had let WWE down with her behaviour...
''I felt it was rude on her behalf. Regardless she is still a representative of a brand. A brand that is well respected. It's like the military. Your always on duty. She could have politely declined."
Paige was not impressed and has shot back at the lady, who was apparently not even involved in the incident, and was just a bystander in what ever happened with the kid...
"Jeez lady. Let it go. It's wild how you're the ONLY person out of the hundreds of people who came up to me that night who has a complaint. Solidified that I had a great reason to say no to you. It's "fans" like you that makes people not wanna give your entitled ass a pic, always on duty huh?. So what happens when i have to use the restroom? What happens if I'm having a bad day personally? What happens if I'm in the middle of eating? Etc. I have to stop what I'm doing make sure rude people like yourself get a pic? I'll take pics w/ anyone. Not YOU."
NJPW:
New Japan kicked off their 2019 last night, with Wrestle Kingdom, highlighted for me by Will Ospreay vs Kota Ibushi for the Never, Will won the title, the first of a number of belts to switch, including WWE Alumni Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho losing the gold they had held going into the show and Kenny Omega dropping his title, which may be interesting for more than one reason.
Ibushi suffered a concussion in his match and was stretchered out of the arena.
Ranallo rubbishes own work:
Mauro Ranallo has issued an apology for his performance at this months NXT tapings...
''Like me or loathe me, I pride myself on performing my job at the highest level possible. Tonight, I failed. I know it will come across as an excuse to some but the car accident and other personal issues affected me more than I thought. I apologize to WWENXT I WILL BE BETTER.''
Kenny Omega:
Kenny Omega is a wanted man. NJPW desperately hope to keep him, but he has meetings planned with ROH and AEW and WWE have made him a ''Fantastic offer'' according to the Meltzer.
Rare out of kayfabe interview:
Undertaker gave an interview to a documentary on indie wrestling recently, where he talked about his career, and that he was close to finishing, the importance of indie wrestling in the education of new WWE stars, and where WWE have been going wrong...
"Sometimes you have to set the angle within the match, but you gotta give a reason for one guy to be loved and one guy to be hated. At the end of the day, whatever you're doing in the ring, you want it to look real, and genuine, and authentic. And I think that's a huge problem, everybody acts the same way, everybody overplays to the audience, and it's just like, 'OK, what do you do next?. Everybody's calling, they want to backflip off this and into that. Once you do that a couple of times, it's like, 'OK, what do you got now?' Well, now I gotta do two flips into that, then two and a half. When they get used to that, what do you do? Instead of learning the finer nuances of what we do, and that's tell stories. Granted, physical, painful stories, but stories nonetheless."
He also urged WWE to ground their talent on the indie scene before bringing them in...
"This is just a rung in the ladder man. You're learning stuff that you don't even know you're learning now, and how you'll draw from this later on. Something will happen, something down the line, you're about to go out for a Royal Rumble or something like that, and you're going to draw on something that's happened in these indies, and you've got it. It happens all the time. Everything is happening for a reason, it's preparing you for bigger things."
Two day epic PPV:
Last year WWE insiders threw out the idea that WrestleMania is growing so big that it may have to be split into a two day event, NJPW feel the same. They have announced Wrestle Kingdom next year will be a two day PPV.
