Today's News

Elimination Chamber:

WWE will present their Elimination Chamber Network special tonight, a new Intercontinental champion will be crowned, and for the first time a Tag Team match will be held in the structure. The World and Diva's championships are also up for grabs.

Former WWE star profiled by movie website:

Grantland gave a bio piece to introduce Nathan Jones, who appears in the Mad Max remake, currently airing in theatres, they touched on his brief WWE career...

''All this was supposed to build to a tag-team match at WrestleMania, with Undertaker and Jones taking on the Big Show and A-Train. But Jones was still new to pro wrestling and not ready for a match of that magnitude. Instead, the story line changed: The bad guys laid Jones out backstage, leaving Undertaker to successfully face both heels by himself. After that, Jones disappeared from WWE TV for a few months. When he came back, he and fellow giant Matt Morgan became the new pet monsters of Paul Heyman, then Brock Lesnar's manager. They both joined Lesnar's Survivor Series team, losing a tag-team match to a team captained by Kurt Angle. A few weeks later, Jones was gone from the company, this time for good.''

Austin Aries addresses his future:

''No matter who's wrestling companies you root for or hate on, remember the human element. We're all people working to provide, just like you. If you need to spread negativity or wish the worst, step back and ask yourself why and what good it brings you... The world's a sphere for a reason...what's put out there, it all comes around. I would extend those comments to the journalists who provide for theirs by reporting on what I do... Just because you have the "scoop" doesn't make you a #GR8 reporter. Knowing when it IS and ISN'T responsible to share that scoop does.''

TNA vs Destination America:

TNA execs are ''Very livid'' at their Network hosts re-tweeting a parody news story from Kayfabe news, saying they would be airing WWE Raw on their channel too.The anger does not stem from the joke, poorly timed as it is, given the current situation, but from a paragraph stating that TNA will soon be banished from existence. The line stated, to the effect, that when they add Raw, ROH and TNA, ''If they still exist next week'' would have to pick at the scraps left at the WWE table.

Ziggler talks future plans:

"When I was about 10 years old, I was hoping to be a WWE superstar and then go on to be the governor of Ohio or something - it's not impossible. But wrestling is and always will be my first love and I would not miss a (WWE) show for anything else."

The poor guy was just plagued by injuries and it did hold us up. Their were opportunities for us to start something with another talent on the roster and they tried to get us into something with Ted Dibiase and that came to a stand still creatively because Ted wanted something else and we were just bouncing around doing live events and just doing tag matches with different people."

Staff at the WWE Performance Center are overworked and are having to work longer and longer hours, as they have so many daily tasks to fulfill, and not enough bodies to do them. WWE's budget cuts mean they are not currently hiring to beef up the sparse crew.

Rousey out of Mania:

JR blasts irresponsible TNA:

"TNA not addressing the rampant TV rumors of their relationship with Destination America is irresponsible. I've talked to many within the company who have no idea what their future holds and that's not good business. Silence speaks volumes more often than not in the wrestling business when it comes to communicating with talent and of that I speak from extensive experience."

What do the TNA talent know about TNA cancellation:

James Storm has revealed what he knows about the current TNA strife...

"I've been told by the higher-ups that there's nothing to worry about. TNA is owned by a billion dollar company, Panda Energy, so the money is going to be there. They talk about the network saying this and that. Every network wants great ratings, but the problem is that it takes time for the casual wrestling fans and the viewers to find Destination America. A lot of people don't have that channel, or it's a premium channel and they have to pay for it. My mom actually couldn't find it until like a month ago. So it's just taking people a little longer to find the Destination America channel. Nobody really knows except for the network and Dixie Carter, that's how I look at it. Dixie cares about the wrestlers like they're her own kids. If something's going to go down, she's going to have a meeting and talk about it with all of the guys, so that's how I look at it."

WWE is officially illegal:

Ecuador have decided that TV Networks cannot air the WWE show SmackDown as it violates their laws against the promotion of violence.

Huge blow for TNA:

Destination America have announced they will air Ring Of Honor on their Network, starting on June 3, they have signed a 26 week deal. This is the biggest indication from the channel that TNA's days on their books are coming to a premature end.

For the time being however TNA will still air on the channel, but after ROH's show airs.

This news has led to TNA finally deciding they need to inform their talent about what is going on, and will do so today via conference call. One of those stars have come out confirming that TNA told them nothing in advance of this news, and tweeted his contact information for promoters to offer him (MVP) bookings.

Apparently TNA refused to answer any questions about the TV situation.

Samoa Joe and Rhyno will be monitoring the situation, as WWE could, and likely will, stop them from appearing on TV for other promotions, as part of their NXT contracts.

Hi guys, we don't mean any harm.

He also takes credit for inventing the Bullet Club...

Kane talks Isaac Yankem DDS:

Kane has done an interview marking his twentieth year with WWE, he says he would tell that first incarnation of his WWE life that...

''I would tell him that he needs to have some confidence, because he could actually do it. I think that's true of a lot of young guys. I was so star-struck that it was a really difficult transition for me. I would also tell him, as well as the Kane of 1997, to enjoy things, because the time does go by so quickly. When I think about it, 20 years really seems like a blink of an eye sometimes. I wish I would have made a more concerted effort to enjoy things along the way. You get to a level like that and you get so caught up in things, and then twenty years is over and it's like, "Wow. Where did all that time go?."

Samoa Joe reveals why he left TNA:

"I think the decision was made in the final few weeks. I've often been called by people loyal to a fault, and I didn't feel the mission was accomplished in TNA yet. I'd done my best throughout my career to help try to build the company and bring it into prominence. It's had its ups and down and pitfalls here and there, and I don't feel that job was finished yet. Towards the end there, there were some apparent things and incidents that kinda showed me that maybe it was time for me to move on and maybe it was better for me, both personally and professionally, to explore other options and explore other things. I've gotta admit, I'm not unhappy with my decision. I'm unhappy that I didn't get the opportunity to kinda finish out what I wanted to start in TNA, but at the same time, so many great things have popped up since that I'm very, very satisfied with the decision that I made."

"It's funny because it was just an average match. There was so much tension at that time between Randy and Liz. As a matter of fact, that was the last time they were together, they split the next day. It was just very uncomfortable. Not working with Randy or Liz individually, they're great people but there was just tension between them and that was the last time they worked together there. I thought the match was OK but it could've been better and it wasn't out individual abilities there was just a lot going on behind the scenes that people weren't aware of. I felt bad. I was honoured to be a part of it and be in a main event at WrestleMania but there was so much going on behind the scenes that I felt bad for everybody involved. Not for me, but they were going their separate ways and it was difficult. He cared for her a great deal."

It's such an over-stimulating day that I forgot who told me this, but he said, 'You never really retire from wrestling; you can't. You just step away for awhile.' Life is pulling me in a bunch of different directions and I'm forced to step away for awhile. But there's no way, after getting a taste like that, I could never go back in for seconds."

Were glad you crashed the wedding:

Nikita Koloff reveals why he snubbed WWE:

"When Krusher [who became Demolition Smash] jumped, he had originally asked me to go with him and certainly I was humbled by his invitation. But literally without hesitation it was not something I was really considering for a couple of reasons. One, I had worked really hard on developing the character of Nikita Koloff and wasn't really interested in going up there and taking on a new character and a new role and that is the biggest reason I never entertained an offer. Secondly, what he described to me, I felt it was kind of a spin-off of the Road Warriors and out of respect for Mike and Joe that was another factor why I didn't go do that. As far as Vince and the WWF pursuing me, they really didn't. But I also didn't pursue them. I felt really loyal to the NWA and to Jim Crockett because they did give me my big break. Putting a guy in the ring and on television without any professional training or experience, Jim Crockett rolled the dice and it worked out well for me and for him. For that reason I felt a real loyalty to Jim and the NWA, so could I have played that card like so many guys did and leverage that for more money? I could have, but I didn't."

Jim Ross:

Jim Ross will be commentating on the Stone Cold Steve Austin feature of the new WWE video game.

Today's News

Jim Ross blogs on TNA troubles:

"The insanity that is Destination America is on going. As this is being written, the network still has yet to address the rumors that they are cancelling the TNA Impact Wresting TV program in September. The same program that the network abruptly moved from Friday nights to Wednesday nights with little or no advance waning. Nothing official from the network with all the rumors that flying around isn't prudent in my opinion. Why an official statement can't be made is hard to fathom but even if they do it late today (Friday) the long, Memorial Dy holiday will essentially engulf the information. I've talked to a few folks at TNA and they are as in the dark about this matter as TNA's fans are. It's insensitive and unprofessional to keep so many families of the wrestling company in the dark about their future."

Hulk Hogan:

Hulk Hogan is training to get in shape for WrestleMania 32. He also is in talks with Sylvester Stallone for a role in the next Expendables movie.

Rock record:

Million Dollar bodyslam:

The promoter of Legends Of Wrestling has shot down Scott Steiner's challenge to Hulk Hogan...

''I'd like to respond to the video in which Steiner challenges Hulk Hogan. I want to make clear to the fans that this video was entirely of Scott Steiner's doing and that Legends of Wrestling has no relationship with Hulk Hogan. Mr. Hogan is not scheduled to appear at the CitiField event.''

Kurt Angle talks WWE snub:

"I don't think so, I don't think that Triple H and I have any problems with each other, I've always liked him. He's always treated me with respect and I've always treated him the same. No, I don't think it was that. There was a point when my manager talked to them and I believe they did say 'he would have to wrestle full-time'. That is not an option for me, not at this point in my career. So, whether that was part of it, honestly I just don't think they had that much interest in signing Kurt Angle at that point. For whatever reason, it could have been my mishaps in my past, it could have been that they didn't think I was healthy enough to go - and obviously I am - but we never got a full answer of why they couldn't give me what I wanted. And it wasn't just what I wanted, it was a reduced schedule, but there was no option. Dixie Carter gave me exactly what I wanted and it wasn't a hard decision. I wasn't upset, I was excited about signing another year with TNA. I think they did an incredible job this year. They had to refocus, they had to re-group, they had some issues in the past, and I think they've done an incredible job of making their way back. Are they back to what they were? No. But they're on their way and they're doing so many good things right now that make me excited about being part of the company."

David Spade is not a fan of Ronda Rousey's WWE ambitions, he told TMZ...

Rousey responded diplomatically...

"I think you have to be a fan of the sport to understand how awesome it is and it's too bad he's not a fan."

Punk to wrestle this weekend?:

A promoter that has Samoa Joe booked to appear for him this weekend has cleverly used the hype surrounding his WWE debut this week, to plug his own show. He said he would cancel the main event, and would happily replace Johnny Gargano with CM Punk as Samoa's opponent. Punk took the bait and asked how much he was offering, and the two men traded light hearted tweets teasing he would take the match, he almost certainly will not.

Today's News

WWE debut:

Samoa Joe made his WWE debut for NXT on last night's Network special.

Joe told Renee Young after his debut...

"It felt right, it felt natural, it felt like I should have been here. After being there tonight, I know I should have been here all along."

Joe has not yet signed an exclusive WWE deal, and will continue to work indy shows as well as NXT events, but Triple H, who took personal charge of signing the former TNA man, will leave the option of joining up full time on the table.

Other notes from last night...

WWE filmed an angle to write Hideo Itami off screen, they shot him being attacked in the parking lot.

TNA star Sarita made an appearance, during Tyler Breeze's entrance.

Bischoff sues TNA:

Eric Bischoff is taking TNA to court for $114,500.02. He claims the company owe him the money, as they breached their pay to play contract for his production services, and the wrestling services of his son Garrett.

TNA dropped:

Destination America have reportedly (Meltzer) dropped TNA from their channel, and will pull the programme from their network at the earliest opportunity, this September. The news was delivered to TNA's parent company, with the poor ratings vs cost of production being cited as the main reason for the decision.

The network hoped to keep this news secret until they announced their fall schedules.

The news was passed down to Dixie Carter late last week.

The only response from the promotion has come from Bob Carter, who, whilst promising the company will survive, did not offer a denial to these very worrying reports for the future of their company....

''For almost 13 years some people have predicted we were about to go out of business.  It's no more true today than it was then.''

TNA are threatening to sue any and all internet sites that release statements about this, claiming they are false and defamatory, I don't know what statements they are referring too, the only one I have seen, and shared here, comes directly from Bob Carter's Twitter feed. Based on Tweets from Billy Corgan, who did concede the office were worried about the sounds coming from their hosts, the threats are aimed at Dave Meltzer's reports on this, and I haven't read his piece as I use him extremely rarely as a source for this page.
