Today's News

Jerry Lawler interview:

Hall Of Famer King Jerry Lawler says the current crop of WWE stars are not as good as the Attitude Era, Which is of course a statement of the obvious, but coming from an active WWE talent, is interesting...

"I honestly feel, in my own personal opinion, that during the Attitude Era our roster was stronger. I just think that there were stronger, from top to bottom of our roster, characters and Superstars than we have now. We certainly have guys now that are capable of moving the ball and getting the job done with CM Punk, John Cena, Big Show, Randy Orton and other guys that are being featured right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm not casting dispersions on these guys at all, but when you look back at the Attitude Era, there was some of the biggest names in the history of this industry. I don't think anybody will argue with the fact that there may not be anyone who could fill the shoes of The Rock or Stone Cold. Those are two guys right there that were in their heyday that we have not seen the likes of since and we may never see the likes of those guys again."

He also warned his employers of being lazy with The Shield's development, citing The Nexus as an example of losing incredible momentum too quickly...

"I think that what they've done with those guys and the way they have been presented has been very good in making a fast impact. I think now their characters need to be a little more developed, in other words, let's see a little more about these guys as individuals. You can of course still keep them as a unit but you can also hear more from them... I think you'll agree that the Nexus shot up fast and got to that certain level and then it just kind of petered out. I would hate to see that happen to these three guys and that's why I say it needs to go to that next level and I feel like in order to do that they'll need to have a little bit of a different kind of exposure other than just those hit-and-run type things."

Sheamus admits disappointment with Mania 28 match:

''You know, of course I was. I'll talk about that as well. The reason behind all of that -- the match before on Raw, Bryan used AJ as a distraction to help beat me, I wasn't sure he wasn't going to do that again. When you're champion, you can develop ways to get out of certain things especially when there's no stipulation involved. Over the couple of months leading up to 'Mania, there wasn't the biggest build up. There wasn't really the biggest build up for us. Obviously, you had 'Taker and Hunter, Rock and Cena, Jericho and Punk and there feud really started around Rumble time. So, I think for me and Bryan, that 18 seconds, even though it was short -- I know everyone wanted to see that WrestleMania match between me and Daniel Bryan which we were capable of as we've seen countless times throughout the last couple of years. We went into Extreme Rules, I thought, as the hottest match on that pay-per-view. I know Brock came back and everything, but I'm a firm believer that people really wanted to see me and Bryan go head-to-head. I think that 2 out of 3 Falls match that we had stole the show.''

Brooke Hogan to wrestle:

Her dad Hulk Hogan has confirmed his Daughter plans to start an in ring career...

"It's my worst nightmare!, But she's really good, she's really good in front of the camera, she's a really great actress, she has great timing, she'll take a half a breath and respond instead of having that knee-jerk reaction to what's going on which is what most wrestlers do. She's been in the ring one time messing about and she loved it - which scared me to death! I can understand it, it's very addictive. Part of it is because I'm her father and part of it is that if you do get in the ring and take a few bumps it's like being addicted to chocolate or drugs, you either like it or you don't, it's very addictive and I think she got into the ring and she loved it."
