Today's News

WWE release(s?):

Trent Barreta was released by WWE yesterday, his profile has been deleted from WWE.Com, not moved to the Alumni section which is the standard procedure when someone leaves the company. The only other person that was deleted was AW for his rape joke, so Trent must have done something wrong???.

He did mention breaking the set at NXT earlier this week.

He tweeted after his release...

"So fired right now. Just wanna say thanks to everyone. WWE, all the good brothers, and fans. Thanks."

He has already scored his first major indy appearance, he will wrestle Sonjay Dutt on the Pro Wrestling Syndicate's Supershow in April.

Skyler Moon also hinted she has been dropped, she was removed from NXT after entering rehab for an eating disorder, but was at Raw earlier this week hinting that she was ready to return, however she tweeted last night that she could finally swear on the internet again.

No official word from WWE yet.

Another release has been denied, Sin Cara shot down reports his days are numbered with WWE, during a visit to his homeland Mexico.

Kevin Nash dig at Sting:

Kevin (Diesel) Nash was scrolling WWE.Com yesterday, when he noticed that his WCW rival Sting was on the site's Alumni page, leading him to take to Twitter with...

"Was on WWE.com an went thru the alumni how is Sting listed he never worked a WWF or WWE match? Not saying he's not a legend just not a WWF WWE legend. If you never played for the Yankees how are you a Yankees legend?"

FYI The reason Sting is on the website is WWE own WCW and Sting was a legend there.

Big Zeke was set to return soon from an upper body injury, however he has suffered another injury that will keep him benched until the summer.

The war of words between Hall Of Famer Dusty Rhodes and US Champ Antonio Cesaro continues, this will eventually come to TV, probably on NXT.

DeMott has been receiving a lot of heat for his controversial training methods recently, but only took over the role in June 2012, replacing Tom Prichard, so will be disappointed to leave so soon.

TNA star Tara promotes documentary:

"Well, it's still in the works. He's still adding onto it. It was done by Matt Goldberg, and he did it as a project for college; he's a super fan of wrestling and I saw hime backstage here for quite a while and he finally came up to me. He did one on The Pope (D'Angelo), Elijah Burke and it went to Cannes Film Festival in France, so he's presenting that to Cannes as well and it's a documentary about how it is to be a female in a male-dominated industry, you know what I mean? So, I'm really flattered; it shows a lot of behind the scenes, things that the fans are not allowed usually to see. So, it's kind of interesting. He's still adding on; I'll be opening a restaurant in Chicago in March and he's going to be covering that too, so he'll keep on adding to it and I'm very excited to see how it turns out."

Chris Jericho vs Mickey Rourke:

Chris Jericho has confirmed he was set to wrestle actor Micley Rourke at WrestleMania 25, but Rourke pulled out, because he thought it might hurt his chances of winning the Oscar for his role in The Wrestler (Which he did not win anyway), and the replacement match, which saw him face some Hall Of Famer's...

"The original plan was to work with Mickey Rourke in a singles match, but he was so excited about it [that] he went and said something about it at the Screen Actors Guild Red Carpet, My cousin texted me saying, 'Are you wrestling Mickey Rourke? He just challenged you on the red carpet.' This was like 3 weeks before the Oscars. We were going to announce it after the Oscars, but once he said it, his people were mortified and thought it might hurt his chances of winning, so he had to pull out and he didn't even win the Oscar so it was a bit of a drag. We even already started going in that direction and then he said 'no.'

"Then Vince came up with this Plan B with the legends with [Ric] Flair, who'd retired the year before. He'd [Flair] be the ring leader and it was gonna be [Roddy] Piper, Jimmy Snuka and Greg Valentine because Vince's criteria was it had to be a guy who was in the WWE Hall of Fame and had appeared at WrestleMania 1. [Hulk] Hogan's name was never mentioned. At one point they talked about Jerry Lawler, but he didn't fit because he wasn't in WrestleMania 1. I was looking at it like me and Piper, Snuka and Greg Valentine, this match is gonna be s--t. I said that to Vince, I told him it won't be good and he said, 'it's not supposed to be good.' I told him I understand that, but instead of putting Greg Valentine in there, could we put Ricky Steamboat in there. Ricky had just started working there again at the time. He hadn't wrestled and he didn't even own his own name, his ex wife owned the name so they had to get something figured out. There was a little bit of heat there too, and Vince finally allowed Ricky to come in and we did it and it was amazing. He made it."
